  • very cool and insightful video. This guy's a genius

  • he's a great composer

  • What a treat to get an inside look at the creative process that defined Twin Peaks!

  • My favourite video on Youtube, closely followed by Pink Floyd's Echoes!

  • I thought it wasn't possible, but somehow this made the soundtrack even better. A perfect creative moment, which still resonates today. Beautiful.

  • That's Twin Peaks, Angelo. Don't change a single note. :)

  • Completely mad, and a complete genius.

  • Interesting *FACT* is that originally the theme is Ennio Morricone music

  • @storeofdigitals really? why?

  • Amazing.

  • esto es demasiado bueno!

  • eargasm

  • this story is completely truth! did you hear that?

  • 90's masterpiece

  • Genius!!!

  • jizzed in my pants

  • I wish Lynch was in charge of the whole chapters of the series. Because there's a really big difference between the chapters he directed and the others. And by the way, I wish the case had not been solved till the end of the series.

  • genius oh my god angelo is amazing i wish i could play piano

  • This gave me goosebumps

  • orgasmic

  • Emocionado con su propia creación. Lo envidio.

  • this almost made me cry

  • Get this man an espresso

  • MAESTRO

  • 11 people don't think this is the girl

  • i like his music so much!

  • Amazingly inspiring.

  • I love the way musicians work and let their ideas flow like wind with its own conciousness.

  • I thought he was gonna cream himself at 03:09

  • that was amazing.

  • Truly amazing.

  • Which Twin Peaks theme is this passage from, (with the darker melody leading into the beautiful crescendo)? Wonderful telling of how this piece was written....want to believe thats EXACTLY how it happened!

  • @ellaova It's Laura's Theme

  • @ 03:09 the world wept...

  • 10 people didn't have any cherry pie this morning.

  • Badalamenti is Badass.

  • Twin Peaks was like G-d and Satan collabing and giving their best ... amazing ...

  • L o v e -_-) א ה ב ה

  • Literally one of the most amazing things I have ever watched. What is this clip from?

  • @invasionbrand This is from the 10 DVD's set The Definitive Gold Box Edition, Incredible stuff, there's plenty of bonus stuff and interviews with lots of actors from the show, and more importantly, with David Lynch.

  • "Now go back into the dark woods..."

This literally sent barrage of shivers down my spine. Freaky.

  • One could only hope Badalamenti and Lynch collaborate again!

  • Thank you Angelo for your unforgettable music :) :)

This piece is my favourite, the beginning and the end truly scare me a lot :)

  • Mi ha fatto stare quasi male! C'è magia e pathos quanto raramente se ne vedono! Brilliant! Amazing!

  • HOW BLESSED THEY ARE TO BE SO BRILLIANTLY CREATIVE ,IMAGINE BEING THAT PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUR WORK

  • Whats about Twin Peaks intro theme ?? How he made this ???

  • WHO COULD PUSH "DISLIKE"?????????????

  • @1beauty9 only the deaf!

  • Just like that eh? Easy peasy.

  • Este tío es un genio.

  • Surely the greatest 'sound & vision' double act....ever to grace screen, TV & Film.

The degree of magnitude... to which they have enriched my life...is beyond measure.

    Thank you, thank you.

  • I get chills!

  • 8 peoples got lost in forest...

  • While explaining, Angelo is acting better then anyone who won the OSCAR until these days. What a nice story my God! As we say in Kosovo "shume mire"

  • 3:09 he has an orgasm... me too

  • Genius! Heaven is listening to Angelo Badalamenti's music. It was great meeting you and your friends, tonight, Angelo. Thank you for introducing me to your music. I need more inspirational music to dance to or I die. Tonight I dance and live thanks to your music. God Bless and look forward to hearing more great music from you.

  • @Marqst I didn't say I would give it to him.

  • I would give my right arm to get a copy of that cassette from the tape recorder.

  • This gives me chills every time I see this.

  • I'm still very sad that Lynch never had the chance to flesh out Twin Peaks the way he envisioned. The first season was one of the most incredible dramas on the small screen.... and then the network killed it. :(

  • @steve82377 yeah, skynet =P

  • Oh my god!... This is amazing! Love to you angelo, love to you david

  • Bravo Angelo, Bravo...you are a master of your craft!!!

  • Its amazing how a visual and an musical artist could come together and create magic... Also the way he told the story was fantastic. Great to be able to look through a window into the minds of a creative geniuses

  • @Dumezil357 This IS incredible!!!! My eyes are swelling with tears....I love this!!!

  • Today I'm so sad and this beuatiful song shows my pain :(

  • amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you Angelo, thank you David, thank you!

  • Angelo is a genius!

  • Two true artists, in an awesome collaboration. I've always enjoyed the co-creations from David Lynch.

  • I wish the stuff we hear on the radio had this much feeling in it.

  • Genious !!

  • 8 people were found wrapped in plastic and washed up on a deserted beach.

  • this man is a musical genius

  • This theme kills me. So sad and beautiful. If you like this kind of music, you should check out ''Fragile Bones(Feels Like Home)'' by Ali Murray, or anything by Ali Murray for that matter. Very beautiful music with dark surreal atmospheres.

  • @jenniferjjjx I'm going to look into this - thanks for the tip Jennifer! In return, check out 'Unsound Methods' by Recoil - think dark soundscapes that tell you a story with each song, hugely underrated. (The follow up 'Liquid' is great too). But as a first step into recoils world, search on youtube for 'Luscious Apparatus'.

  • This is magic.

  • my theater teacher showed us all the episodes, and the movie, and this song ALWAYS had me with goosebumps, made me chill, and sad..

    beautiful song.

  • A tear rolled down my cheek at 3:08

  • @lmm85 Me, too. (T.T)

  • Lol, I love stories like these. Much better than hearing some nonsense about people falling out or getting into tiffs over "creative differences".

  • applause applause applause !

  • Thank you Angelo, thank you Davida for your precious work

  • When you listen to David Lynch's account of this, it's the EXACT same detail. BEAUTIFUL isn't a strong enough word to accurately depict how succinct the music is to the description David Lynch gave.

  • Beautiful

  • Pure genius.

  • Raw, yet finely honed talent. To compose/improvise on the fly like that... I honestly don't think I could have held it together had I been there. The song is astounding as is, but to see the man create it right there, damn... O_O

I'm just grateful Angelo had the talent to pull it off and David had the sense to see that it was perfect as it was. I'd feel sorry for the people who hit dislike, but frankly not everyone can appreciate a fine slice of pie. ;)

  • fender rhodes... damn fine instrument!

  • @gmoop12 its only as fine as the person who plays it,in this case its the perfect instrument for the perfect composer

  • I'm sure they were both drinking coffee at that time, and surely there was an owl looking in on them from that porch in the back.

I don't know if Mr Lynch or Mr Badalamenti realize it, but true or not, when this song was created, it was one of those defining moments for television history.

  • just lovely!

  • fantastic

  • 9 people didnt like their espresso.

  • awesome! just........ awesome..

  • probably one of the most touching pieces on youtube.

  • I was frozen for this entire video. Astonishing. BTW, I feel bad for the people who pushed dislike. What are ya, tone deaf?

  • It does tear my heart out and it always will.

  • I will forever be grateful for those two having foster the creation of one of the most beautifully sad pieces of music I have every heard.

  • One of the best videos on Youtube. I lost it when he reached the climax. Along with his commentary, I felt I was sitting right there with them at that moment, when the music was being made

  • 8 people never understood Twin Peaks.

  • beautiful

  • this is soooo amazing

    :')

    I LOVE THIS MUSIC

  • Anyone out there that creates, whether through word, visual, or instrument, knows how incredibly satisfying this feeling is. Up against something that could turn grueling, and it just falls out of you. I've experienced this just once before. I wrote a piece of poetry that needed only five grammatical edits from original to polish, and it only took an hour to write. Very unusual for me.

This video is an especially rare case, considering it involves two minds to work together and make this happen.

  • @kasteman1 I know man. I've always felt that creating something and bringing something new to the world is one of the most meaningful things a person can do in his/her life

  • bring this man an espresso

  • Fuck off the eight haters

  • I love this man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks!

  • This is just pure talent. I really like how Lynch is the one that really set the mood for him. I feel like most producers and directors would just show them clips of the show/movie and let them make the music on their own. This is true collaboration between two brilliant artists.

  • I've always loved Angelo, but this made me worship him. I have listened to all his music but this song has haunted me for years. I adore this song and I will for the rest of my days. I bow to this contemporary maestro. There aren't many left in the world.

  • This is genius ....

  • Min 3:00 to 3:22... When Lynch talked to me JIZZ IN MY PANTS !

  • i bet it was nothng like this but its brilliant all the same.

  • @glossy104 I hope it was.

  • Hey everyone

  • sounds cool on a rhodes..

  • 6 subnormales se equivocaron de botón...

  • Such an incredible and visionary artist. Badalamenti is a genius!

  • It makes me speechless. I am jus discovering David Lynch, but the genius of A. Badalamente just blows me away.

  • Great insight

  • This is absolutely amazing. It makes me think of the song in a whole new way.

  • Twin Peaks is the perfect soundtrack Badalamenti. I came to mourn with the part of the "climax."

  • Angelo, you are a true artist. Bravo maestro!

  • I would love to see a video like this with John Williams.

  • @knerken It would be boring as hell. "Yeah so i put horns here because it's a battle scene, and violins here because it's a sad scene."

  • I just can say Oh My God, i believed him every word he said, i saw it in my eyes... btw i think i was frozen all this video :) This is magic. Who could push "dislike" button, Are you crazy ???

  • @GiedriusM22 teisybe giedriau teisybe:)

  • I heard this song in my childhood dreams!!!

  • Genius.

  • so brilliant, genius at work.

  • Amazing what you can do with an old Fender Rhodes Mr Badalamenti

please ...play it again and again...

  • that is tearing my heart out, i swear

  • @bemtikru u freak with creepy thoughts in ur fuckin head

  • @bemtikru Oh, that's right! I forgot that men couldn't demonstrate a strong sense of collaboration, creativity and sensitivity without being homosexual. Thanks for the reminder! *sigh*

  • @DarkeningSkies1 whoa, dude, chill out! whoa! [Keanu Reeves style]

  • @bemtikru Hey, man! I'm chill.... I'm chill. lol.

  • @bemtikru

Well, I don't believe that but I did think Angelo is a bit on the sensitive side.

I guess that's what it takes to be a master composer though.

    Funny comment too.

  • genio!!!!!

  • Yo también me he emocionado...genio creador...

  • if i have ever seen an esthete... how could he come up with this music? oh my.. this is so wonderful !!

  • music and lyrics by stewie griffin

  • This is so much stronger than the usual "it was amazing to work with -name of the asshole in question- because he's so good at what he does" crap you get in those kind of footage. Here, you can see Badalamenti just speaks his heart. I bet he has a real powerful connection with Lynch.

  • ce mec est magique on s'y croirait

  • Simply genious.

  • That is amazing. He gets so lost in the moment, it's almost like he's back in 1989.

And what an incredible process they have. True collaboration. I dearly hope they work together again...

  • @jayrobb9 thats exactly what i´was thinkin. He gets lost in the moment ... a very unique moment.

  • The soundtracks for all David Lynch movies are essentially amazing.

  • The description of the emotions is amazing. A great composer, no doubt

  • That's a genuine composer - one who perfectly captures a mood through music. And to see how spotaneous it was...genious.

  • the mother fucking daddy!

  • Im trying to find the credit song on the end of the english version of "dark water" wich is made by angelo badalamenti. so beautifull song.. does anyone know where i can get it??

  • It looks like they had sex xD " Oh Yeh that's it angelo !! I can see it !!! that's so beautiful !!"

  • I was on the edge of my seat!

  • this man is a genius. he's right, his themes really do tear my heart out

  • I never thought Angelo was a genius, but man, this clip makes me think otherwise.

I love his work with julee cruise and the mulholland drive theme is great too.
