what rez is this am trying to decide which is better
ati mobility radeon hd4250 with latest drivers (notebook)
or the ion2 latest drivers (netbook)
i want be doing hard core gaming like u are with those settings ill be watching hd movies and stuff like that but i do play cod4 and mw2 on my desktop just something to do at work
I have an HP Mini 210-1020eh netbook. Is it possible to play Call of duty 4 on it?
It says that the driver or the video card is bad. So I can not play with it. But I saw several videos which shown me that it IS possible to play call of duty 4 on a netbook.
These are the parameters of my computer's video card and processor if it is important:
they seem so serious, Wheres their sense of humor and personality? People that run these technology things are always so bored out and don't make the right decisions. No wonder why technology has so many flaws.
i really love the game. i enjoy it nightly together with my friend and we all clean up. we're truly good but that is due to the fact we obtained a completely new mouse using the cash we managed to save by just downloading the full game from mw2forfreeUinfo (replace U with .) instead of buying it
People this isn't about the "GAMING QUALITY" it is only showing that this atom based netbook with nVidia ION graphics accelerator will play 3d games!
I dare you to put any other netbook up to this test! All you will get is FAIL! I for one am extremely satisfied with my mini 311 for surfing the web and watching videos, but the cool thing is that if I feel like a bit of casual gaming then it will do that too!
@deekismusic Yes you people say it is a laptop, but it somewhat a netbook aswell due to the size of it. It is still a netbook as many other people will agree to it.
@ThisLadChanny It's generally accepted that a "netbook" has a smaller screen (8-12in), is low-budget (under $500), and has the 1.66 atom processor. The alienware laptop only fits one of the criteria. Having a small screen shouldn't automatically change it's status to a netbook. It totally defeats the concept of one.
@deekismusic Even though some netbook WHICH are netbook that has AMD CPU cant then be called a netbook due to not having a Atom, hmmm. It still a netbook imo and alot of others since its the best portable and highest performance at the screen size.
@kevinjsand I would put the new hp pavillion dm1z up for this test. It's just like the hp mini 311 but has an ati radeon graphics card in it and you can get an amd dual core processor in it.
this is not gaming pc at all. COD and L4D are the fastest games among nextgen. Mass effect, burnout etc requires twice faster CPU and gpu to run even on minimal at 20-25 FPS
If you want real portable gaming rig - order Alienware M11x. I've already done that. Hope it will also have more comfortable design, since HP311 has worst touchpad and soft keyboard with keys you cant feel one from another.
i can assure you that hp311 is a bullcrap designed just to tease you (scince i got one). Most of the games run at 15-20 fps on minimal settings that's hardly playable and CPU is such a biatch. streaming flash videos or sites with more then 1 flash on them will make your browser get stuck.
Does anyone know how Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst (schthack private server) or Phantasy Star Universe perform on Nvidia Ion? I was considering getting a AspireRevo with XP for my mom who plays PSO on gamecube on the schthack private server, and i was wondering if it would be fast enough to run either of those games well, as they are poorly optomized on PC, being console ports. She's been getting bored with gamecube PSO so i think she would be happier on blue burst but she doesn't have a pc
Windows XP is restricted to 1gb, but now that it has Windows 7 as well, it can upgrade up to 3gb, but you'll most likely get 2gb if you buy it from retailers.
the 1GB is soldered in the netbook the other is available ram slot with HP put ddr3 1GB so that makes it 2GB. You can increase the RAM by putting a 2GB ddr3 at the RAM slot so it adds up with the soldered 1GB and makes it 3GB. I done it load faster than usual, thats about it.
jeez... what a kill of an awesome system, 1GB is plenty for older games but mondern ones, many of which can run quite playably at low on the Ion platform, really need 2gb for load times and smoothness,
hey i got HP MINI 311 ,and i played battle field 2..but in some point,it's still not run very well.so..what should i do?

Can't expect much from an Atom single core processor.
HuATTK 2 years ago
@HuATTK The Atom in this case IS a dual core. The nVidia ION platform uses a dual-core Atom.

@GarrettBMXes 311 uses Atom N270. Now go google up on that.
