I'm a Hardcore Muse Fan and i adore Radiohead, this whole Muse/Radiohead thing is bollocks, they sounded the same at first yes but then Muse have gone all Classic FM and Radiohead are just radiohead!!
LOL this one is horrible, i LOL'ed... i was thinking through the whole vid.. what the hell is he doing?! Anyway me and my band are doing a cover of this song =3
@unclesamfatg I didn't mean holy cow as in what he says in the lyrics, but rather as an exclamation of the likes of "holy crap" or "oh my god". I just meant, that the way Thom is singing - if you put it against other live performances - makes him look like he's under some chemical influence if ya know what I meanl
Oh, yes, of course! You're right! My bad – didn't know that Deluxe Teles use Strat headstocks, too and thus I mistook it for a custom-built Tele he also used in that period
@IamTheScorchedEarth definitely. don't need any of that twiddly-diddly shit. There's always gonna be someone faster, but there won't be anyone who can pull off the same noises as Greenwood does.
lets end this debate! muse has a big influence from radiohead so they kinda sorta slightly sound alike but in the end muse is just a bunch of shredding and rage against the machins style riffs and in my opinion weak insipid lyrics compared to thom's more creative style of singing oh and radiohead changed music, i mean they have two albums of the decade so yeah. okay shut up now about the debate.
I don't really have a clear favourite, it changes all the time. Right now it's probably Hail to the Thief...and Amnesiac, and Kid A, and In Rainbows...heck, all of them! Well, maybe not Pablo Honey, I don't really listen to that one very often, but it's fun sometimes...youthful ambitions, jingly guitars, etc. :)
This is my favorite Radiohead song, yet I don't like Thom's live vocal improvs much... i thought 1994 at Reading festival was pretty good, but idk... it's almost like he's taking it too far =/
Nonetheless still a great performance cause you got fucking Jonny shredding up there!!!
I'm just about to watch this video and if the fucking director doesn't cut to Johnny and stay on him for his solo at the end, I'm going to punch my screen
Please. All of the "mistakes" are deliberate, Jonny Greenwoods sound is based around his guitar cutting up, screeching, making horrible sounds amongst the pure notes. That's the whole reason he sounds like Jonny Greenwood and not Jonny Borrell or some market-happy-chappy.
@JoeMFC i think that all guitar solos should be like that... a little bit of noise, a little bit of notes, then more noise and notes that sound like noise...
I don't think this is an awful performance, but they did a few errors. One is very distinguishable, just seconds before of the end of the song, listen to the Greenwood guitar riff.
I am very fan of muse and also from radiohead even more than that of muse radiohead but we must recognize that muse might not exist without the presence of radiohead in his musical life, they recognize it as one of his greatest influences and why not leave to be large but radiohead this levels in much higher, that if they stand out for their presentations live is another thing because it really is spectacular
@thebends2554 yeah i mean i can listen to almost all of radiohead's discography and i struggle to listen to more than 5 of muse's songs. the comparisons are simply lazy journalism at best.
He is out of tune. I bet one of the crowd arent impressed then the other half find it funny and like it. I like it: makes him human...haha he may have an angel voice but he sounds shit on his off days!
Is Thom drunk, at this live?
