In "Ascedancy" and "Ember to inferno" Trivium plays Metal, but he have emo image. I like "A gunshot to to the head of trepidation" "Like Light to the flies" "The Deceived" etc. but in my opinion, songs from Crusade, In Waves and Shogun are better than previous albums.

How do songs like Inception of the End, Caustic Are the Ties That Bind, Dusk Dismantled and Chaos Reigns sound mainstream? Come on. The Crusade was way worse than this, being the only Trivium album I consider bad, with the only good song being Detonation. Ascendancy was great, but let's be honest. It was monotonous as hell. The songs weren't as different from each other as they are on Shogun and In Waves. And this song just about kicks ass in every way possible.

Classic fucking trivum, they haven't changed a fucking bit and that's why they're one of the best bands to ever touch instruments. This is just a coloboration of every single album, i hear Ember and Ascendancy and Built to Fall is alot like the work of Crusade, and they are actually starting to make a new sound but still holding their roots to it which is genuis, and sounds just as great. I like what Nick has brought, don't get me wrong though, travis was a good drummer. I like the new Trivium, even during they're "Crusade" album. One of the few songs worth listening to on the album. I miss how many of their old songs were like 2 or 3 songs in one. Add to that they had amazing guitar solos and great clean vocal breaks. Now its clean vocals with some screaming. They stripped their songs down to boringness IMO. Dusk Dismantled and Skylines Severance could have been amazing if they had the elements I previously described. The other songs are too mainstream sounding. Worst Trivium album yet! The angry teens love it though...

One thing I loved about this album..not only was the riffage sick..the soloing was not the typical "shred for the sake of shred" kind of stuff that their earlier albums did just a bit..I feel that everyone of the solos on this album make sense to the song..while most of them are still up to par with the shred and difficulty..I think that they make more musical sense to the songs
