  • Yeah, serena like the cpu or pins would do some sort of contracting under extreme cold or a sudden drop in temp.

  • Good job

  • hey what are you pouring in the pot

  • You use de CPU-Z and? wath is the name of the second program

  • John Marks - Update or the other is not even close to wuts on your video...name of remixs ? im going insane for 6months now.

  • I would kill to know the Song names with who did the actual mix's

  • KILLER STUFF! B)

  • Pretty sure there is no other point to doing this other than to killing your computer.

  • @tminustech I don't really think there is a minimum temp for a cpu to run at, as long as its set up right, and no condensation touches the mobo, or other components.

Dry Ice cooling is more common than you'd think, alot of people heavy into overclocking use it. I'm begining to explore it myself.

  • @NocturnalDistortion You get too cold and you get cold bug.

  • Hey guys, i like the music on this video. who is the artist? please

  • now you can play game tetris? =)

  • lol wy do you short pins on a maximus? it has a power on button on the board

  • Nice session man, great job!

  • ...don't you know that if you do that to your computer components, they will break?

Badly?? Dry ice is carbondioxide, wich is pretty powerful "acid". And secondly the components break because they are in too cold state. And thirdly the computer will bee too cold to work well; your processor is "designed" to work in 40-60 degrees celsius, below or abowe that the processors perfomance actually weakens.

  • Very nice vid, good compilation of shots and music integration. And of course... Nice Overclock!

  • I tried this and got like 4.6GHz on my Core2 duo. Its awesome and not really that expensive, I got 1lbs of ice for like $12( I think). Oh and you might want to wear a glove haha you could of got frostbite.

  • how much dice u need for a 1hr session? and how often do you have to pour in the pot? Nice vid btw.

  • @gicamitomanu You need something like 2-3kgs per hour. Not that much. You need to pour it in every 5-10min.

  • Comment removed

  • hey can someone tell me the material he used for wrapping up the pipe? i need to do that for a project any help would be apreciate

  • @ElCruzop I used neophrane

  • i wanna see someone lick the 4.1ghz processor lol

  • Dry ice is frozen CO2. How come you didn't suffocate in there with the window closed?

  • @R4Zy3L co2 is heavier then air :D

  • Whats the fluid at 4:05 , you filling into the tube?

  • Aceton

  • Oh, thanx... But why you have to use Acetone?

  • To improve contact of the dice with the tube. More area = more cooling.

  • Thanx for the fast answer!

  • Rofl een kopere LN2 pot koelt iets beter dan aluminium, Maar, het blijft een goede video, 5/5.

  • i have the same monitor

  • LoL, now that's what I call quiet CPU cooling.

  • Wow did you break the world record

  • Song ! I need this Song????

  • Insanity

  • @Matiusz130 ferry corsten - everything goes

  • You really are crazy... aren't you.

  • your awesome

  • Song?

  • you are crazy

  • nice job

  • this is really awesome but useless when u want to play some online games)

  • on watter i got my e6850 to 4.0 gig and my 8800 gtx to 700 1680 and 2300 1580 3d mark 06

  • whats that stuff you pour in it called?

  • acetone

  • lol this video captured my attention - 5 stars

  • suggestion, make a tube from the top of the cpu cooler and run it to the intake fan of the gpu, that way the gpu is being cooled by sub-temp air, instead of room temp air

  • u pick up dry ice with your hand? no glove? and no nothing?

  • It's cold ... but not that cold.

  • depends, hold it in your hand for a while and say good bye hand, but for a little bit is fine.

  • I saw blue screen! Nevertheless that was fun to watch.

  • song name please :)

  • what would happen if u got a water cooler with a high performance cpu and replaced the water with liquid nitrogen and circulated that and attempt to OC?

  • something would probably freeze and break off or the processor would crystalize or smt.

the difference between dry ice and LN2 is quite a big one.

  • nah i looked up a few vids ppl have arleady ocd with ln2

  • I'm not an expert but I would guess that the tubing would get so cold that it might shatter, and then you would have liquid NO2 ruining your high performance CPU.

  • uhmmmmmmmmmm ok

  • it's not even WATER in watercooling tube but freon.

LN2 would burn tubes and it'll all melt

  • great job!!!

    mhm..why reinstall you window??

  • lol @ 1:50 , BSOD ! FaiL.

  • I always wondered if something like this was possible, thanks for the video.

  • intel sucks cock at OCs with low temp substances

  • hi what's the firs music? thanx

  • Nice job :D

  • What is that substance he pours onto the dry ice?

  • My guess would be alcohol to improve contact with the pot.

  • 2:23 .. it looks really cool.. =)

  • people living in canada and other places are lucky XD allways-20 there XDDD

  • ..... over clock the shit out of that!

  • omg .... i think i will break world's recored in overclocking if i paired my x3 720 BE with ASUS Crosshair III :D

  • 20kg costs about 50 euro's in the netherlands.

  • do you have to replace the dry ice?

  • Yes, you'll need 10-20 kilo's for a full day benching

  • how much will 20kg dry ice cost btw?

  • I've been here many times before, and I'm past dice now (I'm on LN2), but this video is still GREAT.

The music, the beautiful moisture waves... Thanks again man =)

  • my pc got more fps and is just watercooled the cpu is a qx9770 though XD

  • Is that dry ice or something? I thought you weren't supposed to touch dry ice with bare hands...

  • "Dry Ice Overclocking with Maximus.."

NO SHIT! You cant mean he's using dry ice? -.-

  • That's what I'm wondering.

  • it doesnt kill you when you touch dry ice, its just if you hold it for too long it will freze your fingers probly resulting in apputation.

  • 2 Volts? Are you freeking insane? Good job though :).

  • Where do you get copper/aluminum pot?

  • From overclocking sites

    ask around at

    xtremesystems

    and other sites

they start around $100USD and go up from there

  • ohh ok, thanks :] might get one..

  • Hello nice overlcoking man. :-)

    I have an question.

What is the program that you use.

at the right hand alongside with CPU-Z

  • desert shooter hello please help me i overclocked my E6850 from 3ghz to 3,3 ghz.Sometime when i try to start the computer it does not start it starts after restart...idea?

    please response

  • What do you mean? It starts only after a reboot or what? If you mean that it doesn't boot into your OS undo the overclock or increase the voltage...

  • try upping the voltage for vcore a few notches. sounds like your cpu need more voltage.

  • The metal tubes which you fill with dry ice .. what is it made of ? Stainless steel ?

  • his is aluminum, mine is copper. copper is better, some pots use a copper base only. Check out my videos : )

  • desertshooter, nice video man, soundtrack very good :D. Please can you give us the name of the songs? :D | I'm Starting on Overclock, i have an AMD X2 4800+ 2.5Ghz, to overclock it, i just need to increase the multiplier and when it be reached, decrease the fsb to continue doing the samething? And... i don't want to kid with the vCore, if i don't do this i will not have any problems with cpu overheating, instability, etc, correct? Thanks for the help ;)

  • what happens when you finally run out of dry ice? lol

  • The CPU will get hotter and hotter, until it gets to a 100 degrees C and the computer shut's itself down ;). It won't explode and it won't set itself on fire.

  • ahh... ty for the fast reply :D

  • lol some AMD CPU will set them self on fire >.>

  • I've hit 9.500s on my e8500 on SS phase at 4.718ghz, 1.5v. Gonna go dice soon, can't wait! great vid!

  • to 9.266s, 5004 mhz. Still waiting for a dice run

  • Really nice results! Keep pushing it ;)

  • dice done! check my vids ; )

  • and now LN2! no vid tho =(

  • Screamin For Pleasure

    DATEHERWOW (DOT) COM

  • What name of the song?

  • EPIC! I cant wait to see some more of these vids.

  • dry ice and 99% alcochol=nice combination for overclocking

  • WHAT DOES THE ALCOHOL DO???

  • it makes the dry ice even more cold and it perserves the coolness for longer

  • not colder... It just is a good thermal interface between the pot and the dice

  • alcohol doesnt freeze

  • a good drink too on a hot day.

  • song please? nice job with the video

  • pish I get my cpu that cool with 1 fan

  • thats f**ckng insane man! run a quadcore to almost 5G's! man! thats a cool thing!

  • gief first song name!

  • Damn... damn damn nice work! 5/5 straight up.

  • Thats a CPU on Steroids... 5/5

  • i loled when i saw the temperatures

  • there is a vid of a dude using liquid nitrogen for cooling. if i remember right the temp was -100 something c

  • no, liquid nitrogen is -280 if im not wrong :)

  • Degrees Celsius?

Absolute zero is at -273C. LN is just under 200C.

  • liquid nitrogen would be close to -200 actually. Does one need such low temps actually? Dry ice might just be fine, no?

  • Is this a joke. Thats the coolest system on earth

  • This is a joke. He picks up the Dry Ice with his bare hands, and he still has flesh on them. Not possible. This is a scam.

  • ROFL! That is one of the best comments i've seen in ages. YES I still got my fingers AND i've got my E6850 to 5GHz :D

  • retard its dry ice not liquid nitrogen.

  • What are you talking about, its freezer shit and it will gonna blow your hands into pises

  • witch program did u use to overclock please?

  • bios

  • he also used set FSB for the software tweaking.

  • Thats amazing

  • What's the first song at this film ??

  • BSOD at 1:55

  • Wait till water from the air starts condensing. Dry ice and be bought from liquor stores.

  • or mabye thats only on the special edition with the fusin block

  • Dude, NICE! I have a maximus formula too but it doesnt do that kool logo at startup well it has it but it doesnt appear as a skeleton and fill in, what revision is your board it says on it right by where it says maximus formula on the board?

  • Cool i like, ima sub to you. you know i want that ice tube thingo, not coz ima overclock.. it just looks cool :D

  • where can i find dry ice????

  • my dad works at labcorp he gets it there cuz they use it to keep the blood samples and whatnot frozen.

  • LOOOL it is real?

  • All those things with the dry ice and nitrogen are just amazing!

    Even the small ones

Dont they get pretty pricey to run?

  • how much al cost ?

with out the dryice thing ?

  • 2,0V on Dry Ice.. Are you crazy? LOL

  • I couldn't stand my cpu wouldn't do more :P

  • what bios version you got there in the video bro ? the 1004?

  • One of the first bios releases, it was back in september '07 I think.

  • whats the program u use 2 set FSB i forget name soz

  • I used setFSB

  • lol cheers mate

  • whats dry ice

    ???????

  • just dry ice?? lol

  • It's nitrogen @ -78°C

  • It's carbon dioxide in solid state ==> CO2(s) and it's -78°C

  • it is like impossible to get dry ice with your hands! buy it happend =)

  • That was awesome man. Where's the kit for that at?

  • Maybe in the future everyone will have a computer just like that.

  • Jezus man... wel erg :P maar het is toch zoiets als watercooled? of iets anders want ik vraag me af als ik watercooling neem moet ik dan iets achter mn moederboord in draaien ofzo...:P verder is het wel cool:)

  • És Português?

    Well...

    Bom oc mesmo ;)

    A Maximus é boa também =)

    Cumps

  • I'm sorry, i'm not Portuguese :P, i live in the Netherlands, in a small village called Well.

  • Oh!

    Sorry man._.

    Btw,good overlcock =)

I´m like very well the Asus Series(ROG),but i love the Asus Commando =) =)

    Well...

DryIce does same effect of the LN2 ,i think ,it´s more lower the price and Good temps ;)

    Bye x)

    And keep the good work.

  • No LN2 is cheaper but more dangerous to handle it has a temp of -196 celcius. But dryice is nice to begins with.

  • let me come over and play crisis!!

  • Wow, you sir is an ignoramus.

  • computers will never be fast enough they will allways need to be faster.I can not wait to see 10ghz core 8 processors like 2-3.4 years from now.

  • I think it's stupid that the development of proccesors are limited by the law...I heard intel and amd and other company's are not a allowed to go a few 100 mhz faster every year

  • awesome i was wondering? can use PCI Express x16 because for what i know it can only use 2.0 right? by the way why the asus maximus have 2 pci expes can i do SLI WITH IT? WELL TAKE CARE IL APRECIATE INFORMATION^^ because i buy this mobo is not here yet i was just wondering^^!

  • PCI Express x16 has 2 formats, 1.0 and 2.0, 2.0 can theoretically handle twice the bandwidth but no graphics card on the market can actually take use of that doubled bandwidth, sorry if this is hard to understand :x anyways you can't run SLI on the Maximus Formula, only CrossFire which is using 2 ATI graphics cards instead of 2 nVidia, sorry to burst your bubble :(

  • U can use SLi with nV 7xxx cards or older on modded drivers which supports SLi on Intel

  • wow cool vid! Im going to try over clocking a PIII with dry ice! lol

  • Why bother? The P3 was a great chip when it came out but at this point that would be a waste of dry ice, do it with a Pentium D or a E2140 at least.

  • I was kidding around lol

  • its a Sparkle 8800 Ultra -.-

  • Cool (G force 8800GT)

also what is the name of the song

  • looks fun...i wanna try lol

  • Nice man Wish i had the money to even try this, may i ask what the name of the song is?
