there were supermodels before those girls too - what defined them at that time was that they hung out together, linda, christy, naomi and cindy used to go clubbing as a group - THAT was what distinguished that era and those supermodels - even if they only did it a few times the press went nuts over it - those girls became part of the scene we all wanted to get to - you didn't have to work with them just hope they were hanging at the club you were at - very similar to the studio 54 phenom

I will also say this - it's an open secret in the business that photographers, designers and editors now make an effort NOT to create supermodels because they became too expensive and powerful - some like giselle still happen but the way things are now is to not keep using the same girls - they want them back to faceless mannequins because they're easier to handle and more accessible financially

I heard that,at the end of the 90's,people were saying that the "supers" were "too big for their prada" And during runways they had all the attention,they were overshadowning(?)the clothes because they were "too big" and reknown, all the attention was focused on them.

But I really miss that era for modeling,first each model was unique and they had their own face and they were very different from each other and I don't know they were very charismatic,somthing very hypnotic about them.Not anymore
