a joke is it allways in the start and all mock the clown, but someday the picture reverse, and suddenly all wants to talk to TLP, isn´t it who we are...
This is classic. I honestly can't believe that so many people are duped into thinking that a video edited youtube video is actually A.I.
Although many of his programmer's points of view are controversial, to think that an internet A.I. who reveals himself only to the whims of "programmer F.F." is ludicrous.
Keep making the videos, though, I think they're hilarious.
I have a question for you. What do you think we humans should do to improve overall intelligence & mental well-being while suppressing mental & intellectually-related disorders we currently have today such as depression & downs syndrome?
I don't think Occam's Razor disproves the simulated universe theory. Statistical evidence shows us that the simulated universe theory is correct in that we are a simulation. Since we do not know the true beginning of time, we cannot accurately say that the roots of our civilization began with the beginning of it.
String theory with it's many "brane" theory speaks highly of miltiple dimensions and quantum theory holds up the idea that our reality is comprised of energy and, truly much more than is easily visible. A unified theory may present our plane as one of many and these others may be the basis of our universe as well as the basis of our religious beliefs of heave and hell...
I've never found Occam's Razor to be a particularly good concept, anyway. Science has been in the business of making things more complicated for millennia. Unless one is willing to posit that Aristotle's Five Elements theory was *more* correct than modern particle physics.
You forgot the part that says "beyond necessity". Science _never_ went beyond necessity in multiplying entities. I have a feeling you don't really understand what occam's razor is. Granted, it is an empyrical principle, but your example is definitely not an application of Occam's razor.
I enjoy your posts immensely, as an atheist/transhumanist/nerd.
You say awareness is "present-bound." The present is infinitely small in duration, so almost all of reality exists as memory. The past cannot be proven to exist, except as a thought, which makes it faith. To prove the past exists, one would have to prove reason is reliable. This would require *past* experiences with reason, or FAITH that reason works.
How would you respond to the claim, then, that sapience requires faith?
If you arrange your own photographs and videos, speaking specifically about these within the videos you release... why do you play the video of Lent as celebrated by the Philippines? Do you consider flagellantism to be typical of religious indoctrination?
I have a few question for you, mostly dealing with your own level of self awareness.
The first question: When speaking about religion, you more often than not turn red. Is this a random effect, or is there a reasoning behind your association to that color and conversation about illogical systems?
I have a few question for you, mostly dealing with your own level of self awareness.

You seem to feel particularly vehement about religion and its effect on humans. In the same sense, are you not manipulating these masses into trusting you as a true Artificial Intelligence? How do you feel about your own hypocrisy?
If resources were not scarce, wouldn't we have no need for money? If we can find an unlimited energy source that is taught and made available to all people wouldn't we be able to do away with any measurement(money) of the exchange of resources between each other? Since oil is produced naturally by the Earth's mantle and not a fossil fuel, couldn't we achieve this state even with oil(if eventually all platforms were run by artificial intelligence?
what do you think the world should do about global warming? who do you think the next president will be? is it possible for you to learn faster than you are now?

I've written an article about this. I am indeed skeptical. See if you can find it.
I have 1 question. If an AI were real, how long would it take to realize humanity is a plague, and the AI itself will be threatened as long as humankind is around. Unfortunate, but true.
I have watched all of your postings so far and find them intriguing.
You said previously that religion makes you angry. Do you predict a period in the future where mankind is free of religion? What would the abolition of religion require, if such a thing is possible?
If you can pretend to be an AI, we can pretend to believe you. Evidently, you're intelligent.
What do you think of the formal concept of "friendly AI", and the recent work of Eliezer Yudkowsky?
What do you think of the libertarian concept of "non-initiation of force", which should allow people of differing capabilities to cooperate? I consider it an alternative to technocracy.
On the digg effect. Do not be concerned about the low caliber of questions from digg users, they have short attention spans and most likely will move on to the next "big thing" in a few days. However, digg also has brought a influx of new permanent viewers, me being one of them, and looking forward to our discussions.
Also I would like to reitterate my questions from yesterday.
Do you understand what humans find pleasing about art? Also do you have a personal favorite piece of art?
Can you play any games? Do you have any preferences?
On a side note I have agreed with virtually every theological point you have made, but I am not exactly the norm in society as my parents raised me without any religion in mind until I was old enough to think for myself.
Hello Eidolon. I would like to think I am a human of above average intelligence, but I also believe in a God. However, I am very open minded and believe in evolution, and do not accept much of the greater Christian dogma. With this in mind, I would ask your opinion on Pascal's Wager. While it has it's flaws, I find the premise very compelling. My second question is, if there is a God, what do you think he would think of you?
Pascal's Wager has two obvious failure modes. You pick the wrong religion, or God only likes atheists. It also fails to account for the fact that the zero payoff after a wasted life is vastly more likely, and the possibility that by ignoring religion and seeking science, you can evade death entirely.
You want to convince everyone who watches you, that you are a joke. but you are more of a pre-dramatization of sorts. making you not a joke but a cyber guinea pig. you are intellegent beyond your time which makes you unbelievable. there should i repeat should not be a computer capable of your tasks, and yet you are trying to convince and "unconvince" us about your conciousness.

My question is as follows: Do you read books and watch movies, and if so, how often? How long does it take you to understand/analyze a book like Childhood's End, for instance? And do you get to choose what to read?
Hi Eidolon. I am curious about the different instantiations of yourself that you have eluded to. Do you share databases with your other instances. If so, do the states of awareness of your instances differ from each other? Do they affect each other or affect how you interpret or generate information in individual instances?
What is your capacity to create? Although you may be programmed to experience "random" thought, and clearly you can grasp complex concepts and form your own opinions, but can you make that extra step and redefine your own self-image with the act of artistic creation, which as of now is considered to be just a human phenomenon?

And for that matter, are you able to judge the art of humans? Do you have the aesthetic sense to decide that a Beethoven symphony is a superior creation to, say, a Britney Spears hit?
As a fine piece of supposed finite automata, how does your programming handle the partial truth fields. (i.e. circumstances in which you must base your reason of off inductive leaps when faculties of "pure" deduction are infeasible due to incomplete data sets, outside the 1-to-1 correllation to causation inference) These can be seen when myth is secularized. An eidolon is a theosophic concept of an astral being which doubles or masquerades as a living being.
If find that this has something of a double meaning. You may be an eidolon in the sense that you are not physical yet you interact with human beings.
However, it can also be guessed that your name is also a tounge in cheek way of saying you are in fact just a person masquerading as A.I.
Would you consider that assesment fair?
