  • smart, elegant and surprising. nice figures

  • That was awesome!

  • You people need to quit complaining about the lack of audio (though it does suck) and look on the bright side of things. When paired with the right music playing in another tab, this video becomes hysterical!

  • ...punched yourselves in the gob, was the Datsun disaster! My advice to you, is go and take care of your homeless and displaced persons, and your high speed trains, and your broken nuclear power plant and leave us the fuck alone, to live our own lives, or do we have to get the fucking Enola Gaye out of mothballs once more! Melly Clistmas!

  • Sorry, very sorry i got a bit carried away there, Mr. Jobs DOUBLE FU! Sony? it's not YOUR job to police what i watch, or how i use your stupid DVD-r's, and, as i have found other manufacturers discs work in my player i won't be buying any more, so you see tossers? you shoot yourselves in both feet! Melly Clisstmas Mr Rawrence! You Japs never learn do you? The last time you

  • @glueonhair Dude, fuck you. It's not the Japanese people's fault their power plant broke, it was caused by an earthquake, you douche. Also, "Japs?" When were you born, WW2? Goddamn dinosaur, I'm surprised you know how to use a computer. Which you probably wouldn't have if it weren't for the Japanese, by the way. Imbecile.

  • What we need is a face to face with these people, but what's the chances of that? For one thing the stone they are under is weighed down with so much of our money, they can't get out from under them! Thats of course if they weren't a bunch of cowards in the first place.Anonymity works both ways, and they will use You Tube or whatever to further their OWN ends! I am sick and tired of being told what i can listen to, on what device, for whatever reason, and from where it came! Mr. Jobs? F U! Sony2

  • Poster could use someone else's music after synchronizing the beats per minute, which can be done with programs like virtualDJ.

WMG people obviously do not understand that Youtube is a great advertiser that other pay money to get on. Record companies used to bribe radio DJ's to play their records.

  • People are such assholes that they would remove the audio from this video, And ive seen 1000 % worse shit on Utube

  • No vid, yet that damn pop up add and vevo keeps wasting my time...

  • music not being on this video is SO WRONG.

  • Amateur lindy at best.

  • @Hedgehog2039 Amateur by today's standards, but this was 11 years ago.

  • hey what's the name of the song feature in this dance?

  • Wow... I would love to have the music with this video... Thanks a lot WMG...

  • Well that's freakin' stupid !!!

  • just keep reposting it. Make 'em keep taking it down.

  • Maybe somebody coud post a 15 second clip of the video. That should fall within fair use.

  • this is stupid, you can't buy a copyright everytime you do or see a dance, how do they expect people to upload dance videos without "violating" a copyright? give us a break

  • It is a tribute to these dancers that the performance is still wonderfully musical even without the music. WMG is unbelievably stupid. I sought out the soundtrack that this song is from just from hearing it here. I wish now I hadn't bought it and I hope WGM goes bankrupt.

  • To those who say this isn't Lindy, watch from 0:24 to 0:27. How is that NOT a Lindy? As for the rest of the video, they're West Coast Swing Dancers, so it looks a bit different. Still the same moves, just stylized differently.

  • beautiful dancing...wish there were sound.

  • thats not lindy hop

  • stupid YouTube, stupid WMG

  • Advertising an act as something that it isn't, - is wrong. Apparently you are one of those " thousand shades of grey" types. Whatever.

  • @foamulator You might have to watch more than 15 seconds. The song has an intro....duh.

  • so damn slow

  • What a joke about the music.

  • Amazing. I've been Lindy hopping for 12 years. This is really good stuff. I'm in the Chicago area and the scene is definitely not like it used to be. Hard to find good dancers anymore. I miss it.

  • super 0:28 to 0:31 she's amazing.

  • Sbbidiot

Gypsies and Cats:?/%% WTH are you people talkin about? Just because it has some patterns with 8 steps hardly makes it LH.

For the record, All attempts to turn rhythm dances into some kind of smooth version are not appreciated. It just bastardizes both forms. It's like crossing a poodle with an armidillo.

  • @foamulator Uh oh, the dance police have arrived! Clearly, artistic expression must be rigidly defined and unerringly follow specific rules.

I'm pretty sure that when I was standing with some other beginners in a ball room in Houston listening to Dawn Hampton tell me what Lindy was about she never said "Lindy Hop is made up of a specific set of moves and if you were to do anything else you'd no longer be dancing Lindy Hop." Also, Jason from that video had just finished dancing with her.

  • It's not Lindy, they look like west coast swing dancers trying to pull off Lindy???

  • Comment removed

  • Does anybody know that Vanessas last name? She's amazing!

  • i love this routine

  • I'm sure that the music was part of the video and not as an audio track. What an anal move on the part of WMG.

  • Not the Lindy Hop, sorry

  • @lynettekomidar these people are exceptionally smooth in their dancing and yes, she is definitely doing her swing out and swivels. Been doing Lindy long enough to know. This is a very good performance.

  • Oh my gosh, I hate that they disabled the audio! This is the video that inspired me to take up lindy hop years and years ago... This is such a fun video and too much commentary on WHAT this dance is or isn't... it's 100% fun!

  • This is a mix of Lindy and Balboa it looks like. If you watch his footwork closely you can count 8 steps. That's indicative of Lindy.

  • c'est une honte d'avoir enlevé le son d'une aussi jolie prestation

    honte à WMG

  • Well, that's certainly not Lindy Hop - not that they're not good... it's just not Lindy!!! :)

  • @kasperns - this is lindy hop. they took this to ALHC when ALHC was a respectable lindy hop event. open your mind. not all lindy hop is gypsy jazz and cats and the fiddle/slim and slam/cross handed charleston variations. you must be new.

  • I guess that it is "their-tube" rather than youtube. Damn shame!

  • Damn YouTube disabling sound. Enough already! None of us are making money off our uploads! Jeez..............

  • I liked the dance - the Lindy style was more bluesy (reminded me of old Portland days). I think I even saw some West Coast Swing signature moves pop up in there - Jordan and Tatiana anybody? The dancers looked good - thanks for the share.

  • same here.

  • Same here. I have to report thought that the rest of the album was quite poor.

  • same here.

  • I bought the Bette Midler album, For the Boys, just for this song which I heard for the first time with this video. Now I wish I could get my money back because WMG doesn't deserve to make a dime from it. Idiots!

  • quelle honte pour la societé qui a détruit l'interet de cette superbe video

  • Ha Ha If that is Lindy Hop, then I'm Lincoln's Grandmother. This is yet another example of people trying to make a rhythm dance into some kind of lazy smooth dance. ( ala west coast shag)

Pretty moves, yes, Good connection, yes. Lindy Hop, no way.

  • well let's see..

when the swing music starts, three of their first five 8 counts are lindy turns, along with a variation on an rj, some redirects and spins. just wondering what you consider lindy hop to be.

please say hi to abe for me.

  • "Stuff Like That There" by Bette Midler. It is too bad they pulled the audio... It's such a fab routine to a fun song.

  • Warner Media Group, probably. The music companies are killing themselves and I have no sympathy for them.

  • this was such a great video. I dont know who WMG is, but I want to find out who and boycott their products.

  • So what song WAS with this video? Maybe I can hum along... *growls at stupid greedy companies*

  • Que putos los de WMG!!!

  • this is an awesome choreography, and the musicality is fantastic. thanks for posting :)

  • brilliant- not flashy or fancypants footwork, ive watched this going on 100X

  • that was absolutely brilliant!! loved all the musicallity bits with the stopping on the horn hit bits. Really nice and casual looking too. Me and my girlfriend are trying to find somewhere to learn Lindy in our area and this has made me want to learn even more! :D

  • Kind of flat as far as creativity goes.

  • does the floow have sand on it? It seems very mechanical to me with no real self in it.

It is very good as far as mechanically well put together.

  • Det här är SÅÅÅÅ BRA, kanonfin musikanpassning.

  • I was watching this video and started to think "this guy slides around a lot". Then I started to think "Jason from my classes at Houston Swing Dance Society likes to slide around and spin like that". Then I thought "wait... THAT IS JASON!". If you're reading this, Jason, it's "John Mayer's" friend from HSDS.

  • @jboyengy What's up man, sorry it took years to write back, i had no idea this was up on You Tube. I miss being around.

  • @jesparza007 Hah, wasn't expecting a response. Yeah, miss having y'all out here, too. I go off and on, but mostly only when my sister drags me out there.

  • Absolutely superb. Great musicality.

  • The dancers are quite good but it is the match of the dance to the music that makes it as fun as it is. Definitely one of my favorites.

  • wonderful!!!hard to find any swing dancing partner like this couple ..

  • Very musical. One of my absolute favourite lindy videos.

  • Wow! Superb

  • I love it! :)

  • this is so good!

  • I'm madly in love with this video. I've watched it more times than I can count. Jason and Vanessa, PLEASE post some more of your dances!

  • @Lizzy7209 I did not even know this was up there, we did not post it. Sorry.

  • Could have used some tricks.

  • i dissagree entirely. 1. the tempo and the music itself does not lend it to tricks. and 2. tricks are exactly how they're named. "tricks" meant to trick you that they make good dancing. the beauty of this dance is that it doesnt require and shouldn't have them. the style and musicality are great, and its just plain fun. tricks are for kids my young freind.

  • amen to that!

  • Does anyone know who is singing this version of 'Stuff Like That There'? I can't find the version by Betty Hutton anywhere.

  • This is the Bette Midler version from the soundtrack For the Boys

  • It's Bette Middler

  • SWEET!

  • wow, that was really clean, and solid, and CUTE!

  • I believe the dancers are Jason Esparza and Vanessa Cobb.
