  • 48 Seconds ich will fuck you for this song ! (Not gay) xD

  • such a great soundtrack love it :)

  • i love all the castlvania soundtracks, especially this one!

  • I always enjoyed the music from Castlevania II.

  • i like how a third of the video is just the player farming for hearts.

  • Simon's Quest has the best music out of the Castlevania games for NES. It's so spooky!

  • @dmower397 Spokey? Perhaps. AWESOME!!!!! YES INDEED.

  • i -- VII -- III -- iv -- V -- i

  • I want to remake this whole video music with my band!

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite is the theme at the title screen. Why would it be missing here?

  • @Calbenmike Maybe cause it's not your list?

  • @Arbeitsplatz It's not a list; it's a collaboration of music from the game.

  • @Calbenmike That still doesn't change the fact that it's he gets to choose which pieces of music will be included.

  • @Arbeitsplatz Doesn't that go without saying?

  • i love bloody tears

  • what a hoorible night to play a shitty game with awesome soundtrack...

  • @sarcomaful I was jsut about to write

"What a horrible night to have a curse"

Then I saw your comment, and then It was kinda already said :8

  • I still prefer these songs even to the modern Castlevania renditions. There is something about that 8 bit sound.

  • Dracula! I am bac-u-la! To lay the smack-u-la! Like great grandpa Trevor! Whippin hearts, inhalin' Zombie farts! I'll find your body parts then put you back together! I'll race all over the place and when I find your face I'm gonna slippa-smacka-smika-smacka. I found your toes and I got your nose and your elbows and your tiny penis! OH MY GOD ITS SO TINY HOW'D YOU EVER HAVE SEX WITH THIS THING!?

  • what a wonderful night for great game sound track!!!

  • cool stuff from the old days indeed! I miss the amount of effort and vision that went into these games. I think that's essentially how things should have been in terms of the relationship of games and the players. Back then, it was up to the developers to make the games and it was up tot the player to imaginatively invest in it. So you put effort into enjoying the experience. Now technology has gone so far ahead that video games are more like sitting back and letting the game throw itself at you

  • 4:34 is my favorite part

  • The music in this game is 23 years old and I'd still rather hear these beats than the ones released by today's artists.

  • GermanLetsPlay MusicxD

  • My favourite part: 0:46

  • For me this game is not so good compare with castlevania 1 and 3. But the graphic and music, are fantastic!!!!!!

  • Oh Bloody Tears. Even those who don't know of the series know of you.

  • That guy knows how to grind exp!

  • 0:48 to 1:34 gives me orgasms

  • @BrianRobertsfan oh jeah <3

  • @BrianRobertsfan some real eargasms to me too xDD

  • The music from Castlevania 1, 2, and 3 were all so freaking awesome I can't decide what I like the most. Every single song is a classic.

  • at 1:36 best music in this game

  • my favorite part of this video is from 0:00 to 4:57!

  • The dungeon theme in this game (around 2:00) was epic. EPIC I TELL YOU!

  • Name of the song at 1:50?

  • @Poopoobut2 if u mean 1:35, Castlevania 2 - Monster Dance

  • @dakatubes Thanks

  • Greatest Castlevania ever. The free roaming and lack of clock made this the GOAT.

  • They forgot to add the intro "hell house" music

  • "What a great night to have an epic song."

  • "What a horrible night to have a curse..."

  • Y does everyone hate this game if you actually played it ud like it don't say a game is bad just cause of avgn

  • Bloody Tears!

  • My family wasn't used to technology at the time. I had a NES and played it from 2002 - 2005 or more.

  • if u dont like this game, then u dont got taste at all

  • @mavascar the music was great. The actual game was terrible.

  • @Not5id i really enjoy the game, dont know why a lot of ppl hate it. well its all about tastes

  • 2 watching the video were kids born in 1996

  • Man back in the day this game was the shit. I don't care what anybody says. I loved it. It just had a real cool feel to it. There was nothing like it back then. And the music is just classic. Every single freaking tune on this is catchy. I swear, I would be sad that night time would pass cause the music would go off, but then the next tune would always get me pumped. I got this on my PC. I STILL PLAY THIS GAME. Castlevania 2, Symphony of the Night and Mega Man 2, best game music ever.

  • 0:50 - 1:34 is the best game music song EVER

  • Great game, I remember when I was younger playing this and getting frustrated because I would accidentally jump an inch too short and BAM YOU ARE DEAD IN WATER.

  • What a horrible night to have a curse.

  • @g8282 LOL!

  • whats the third tune called? i wanna download it

  • Back when games were hard, limited continues, no voice acting, no HD Graphics, you had to utilize your imagination, no surround sound, just Quality Gameplay, with a Whip & Holy Water. Back when Reading was Major Part of Gaming lol, Today most take all the advances for granted. I rather play Castlevania 2 over most Next Gen Games Today, for 1989 this Game was a Standard of Excellence.

  • @SwaggerLikeUz cant help but forget the first time I played the original final fantasy and the scope of how huge the game was just baffled me. I was like I CAN GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!?!?!!?OH MY GAWWWWDDDD!!!!! :D

  • @swordo21 I agree the original Final Fantasy was great, did you ever play Final Fantasy 2 on the super nes? That game really took it also took it to another level. I can't forget the original Zelda, nor Super Mario Bros. I used to play Atari before nintendo came out, like from 4years old thru 6 years old back in 1982 thru 1985. Super Mario Bros was the first time I played a game that had worlds, instead of the same stage just changed or increasing difficulty. These games were blueprints.

  • @SwaggerLikeUz Well said :).

  • @SwaggerLikeUz

    1. this game is not hard(i beat this easily yet castle 1 and 3 are still a bitch)

    2. agreed...

    3. does it matter if it has hd graphics or not?

4.utilize your imagination( yeah get back to me when your imagination says: use a red crystal at a random point on the screen)

    5. quality my ass, the shield wouldn't come out half the time

6.whip and holy water is awesome

    7. and omfg i can't believe you just said that! reading the text is useless as shit! all the townsfolk lie.

  • @spartan2222222222222 Aye when I played this game there were no strategy guides for it, so when I got stuck I was screwed. Yeah this game wasn't that tough, cause I also beat it. By the way the part that got me & my younger bro back then was the ferry ride. How in the heck were we supposed to know that ferry can take you to other parts of the game. Without any tips from gaming magazines back then I would of never found that out, cause at first that ferry only took you to one location. Remember?

  • @SwaggerLikeUz This is my favorite Castlevania on NES - I've been going back and beating Simon's Quest about once a year for over 20 years now and i swear it just gets more awesome every time I go back to it.

It's probably at least partially due to getting bigger tvs over the years...

  • @VileIntentionsUS Good stuff !!! I agree I still go back and play most of my favorites at some point. My favorites were Castlevania 2, Castlevania 3, & Super Castlevania on the SNES, & Symphony of the Night. All great classic Castlevanias. Can't believe its been all these years, seriously I remember first playing this game in the 6th grade. Back in 89', 90, this was one of the first games that blew me away. Castlevania 2 made me a fan of the series, I'm glad I still have it in my collection! :)

  • the musik rock...

    but the game suck...

it is just hard as hell!

  • @Throt96 dude, just because it's hard doesn't mean it sucks. Castlevania 2 was an awesome game!

  • @rECORDABLEidiot don't forget "Garfield and Friends, The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, video arcades, Fraggle Rock, Operation Wolf, Rocky, Rambo, Indiana Jones, and a good ole' fashioned slasher movie!"

  • What a horrible night to have a curse.

  • @Natakupl

    The morning sun

    has vanquished

    the horrible

    night.

  • @rECORDABLEidiot To be fair, most of those things were still around in the early 90's, but it was beginning to die out

  • This was a great video, but you left out the opening title theme!!

  • jump whip, whip, turn, jump whip, whip, turn, jump whip, whip, turn, jump whip, whip, turn,

  • Looool! if u stop it at 0:00 and press left arrow u can play Snake , seriously !

  • @SalmonelaKid How did you find that out?

  • @Lrdvltr well the way u found it out now ;)

  • @SalmonelaKid

WTF!! I just did! it! LOL!! How's that possible?

  • @SalmonelaKid Yea! O_o I actually found that out a few days ago for the first time. Its nuts, I know. XD

  • this game used ta scare me when nite time came, i wuz like 4 & didnt wana play it no more lol

  • @dlove87 Same here! I was around 3 or 4 when I first played it, and the zombies roaming through the town would always scare me. I never wanted to go outside, because I knew the Werewolf and Skeletons were waiting for me. It definitely was a creepy game for its time. lol

  • what the heck is he doing? they will always respawn -.-

  • What a terrible night to have a curse !

  • Das Gameplay war, wie ich finde, den Super Mario spielen schon weit voraus! Kämpfen,Rätsel lösen,Gegenstände upgraden....

Und die Musik war viel besser , da ist einfach mehr Motivation dahinter.

    Castlevania II rules!

  • @kraeckelium im with you. this is my personal favorite castlevania, i know its not the best in terms of the traditional gameplay, bu ti played the hell out of this and it was great. metroidvania way before symphony. i know for a while all the japanese sequels were trying to be incorporate rpg elements (zelda 2 comes to mind), but for this game it worked (zelda 2 is another fav).

  • I think you are missing one song... Actually my favorite one, if im not wrong, the one where you insert your password, its one of my favs!

  • Best music for an NES game ever!

  • haha more than half of that video is just grinding, but I know it is just random footage set to the music. I sure remember grinding for hearts too. What fun times/memories those actually were. I loved this game.

  • This soundtrack was ahead of it's time.

  • 0:49 love it

  • Starting at 2:12 is my favorite from this game.

  • @MegaPhilX What stage is that from? I can not freaking find it.

  • @LieutenantLousyshot that music plays in the mansions

  • fuck... how many zombies are there? O_o

  • Man, the bass on this is pretty nice with headphones. The original is actually better than the Minibosses' cover, in my opinion.

  • The music at 2:50 is the best! It's called Within these castle walls! It fits perfectly when you're walking throught Dracula's castle, with no enemies on your way! :D

  • The soundtrack is EPIC!

But this game...well,it had a great idea,i mean, non linear style, transitions from day to night, but I don't think it was executed too well. From every five minutes you have to pause for 10 seconds, bosses were rare and way too easy, castles were annoying, puzzles were way too hard to figure out,in-game clues didn't help that much, you die and lose all your hearts, and dracula was a pussy

I hated this game 20 years ago and still do.The soundtrack makes up for everything

  • Thank you

  • @belosofican

I actually loved this game until I saw the AVGN review lol

  • @belosofican Soundtrack is the best part of this game. The game itself was only good if you had a hint guide. Other than that it was IMPOSSIBLE to beat!

  • @subby33 It wasn't that hard, but you needed LOTS OF TIME to explore the whole game, it took me like three whole weeks in the summer to finish it like 17 years ago... badass memories.

  • @belosofican I love the game for the EXACT same reasons you hate it, you have to figure out on your own what to do, pretty much like a real adventure I imagine would be, however, you neeeeeed a lot of TIME we grown ups no longer have... I miss those days...

  • win

  • Where's the Dracula theme?

  • best game

  • Is it me or the Mansion theme sounds a lot like Malmsteen's Far Beyond the Sun?

  • @Yebanoshi at what part of the video?

  • Could you please re-do this using the soundtrack from "Dracula II: Noroi no Fuuin"?

  • I still can't quite figure out how my 10 year old self dominated this game 21 years ago. I remember I had to draw a logical map of the whole game world to remember where to go.

Many people didn't know what to make of this game in context of the other CV's of the era but I loved it all the same.

  • What an underrated game. Music is EPIC. If Bloody Tears didn't exist, I don't know what I'd do.

  • The music kicked ass in this game!!!

  • @Credithelper75 YEA! the best in cw... =)

  • What's the name of the track at 00:48 ?

    Thanks

  • Bloody Tears

  • Bloody tears.

  • what song starts at 1:36

  • night

  • What a horrible night to have a curse!

  • @ExtinctSS hate the nights... :D

  • Monster dance I believe.

  • Damn, not only the soundtrack is awesome, but I am one of the few who disagree with the critics on this game... I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME! It is so mysterious and weird, that has to have value, and it was very influential for game today!

  • yep you right

  • @kraeckelium Damn right man. the whole journey that ends in the ruines of castlevania you destroyed in castlevania 1 is just epic.

  • @kraeckelium I agree man. I LOVE this game as well. I remember playing this as a kid, late at night, and into the early morning, it always gave me chills when day would turn to night, and I'd be battling the undead lol.

    I miss those days.

  • @GialloHorror

I never miss these days, because back then I could not beat the game :P

But I get your point man haha, I still play these old games and they still rock!

  • @kraeckelium Oh hell yeah bro, with the virtual console I play them all the time myself. I love them just as much today as I did back then.

Life was just easier when I was 12 lol, but hey, when I'm playing these games, for a couple of hours I am 12 again, and it feels good

  • @GialloHorror

For a couple of hours 12 years again, but with more skill I must admit. I discovered emulation like 2 or 3 years ago... I did not leave my room for 2 weeks. And I finally saw the ending from like 50 games I never could finish back then.

  • @kraeckelium Oh man, I agree with you about that bro. I, finally, beat Section Z, on emulation a few years ago. I could never beat that as a kid.

It is more fun to revisit these games with a lot more skill, and conquer some of the games you never could beat 20-25 years ago.

It's still a ton of fun. I guess a part of me will never grow up

  • @kraeckelium

there's like 2 flaws with it 1)night-day thing 2)the red tornato thinger where you got to crouch in a corrner

    the rest is epic

  • @kraeckelium

No question. An excellent and influential game. Amazing sound track for the NES.

  • @kraeckelium I love this game, not just because it has the best Castlevania song ever made, but because the game itself is interesting and different from the rest.

  • @kraeckelium man you rock, i fucking love this game and feel its mysterious too!

  • @kraeckelium this also was my favorite CV game, without a doubt. Fuck the haters.

  • @bluemanor

    hell yeah :D

  • @bluemanor word up!

  • best music and worst video going together? lol

  • People might view this as the black sheep of the series, but my GOD had an awesome OST

  • I know I agree this game had an amazing ost probably one of my favorites of all time.

  • Darn tootin'. First video game I ever owned and still my #1 for music.

  • You know prossess dracula's rib.

  • You NOW prossess dracula's rib

  • Whoops! I can hardly make fun of their spelling if I mess up my own, can I? XP

  • 2:49 still gives me the shivers

  • Me too. PTSD.

  • Notice how in the video he just walks back and forth killing monsters in the same spot. And then notice that this video is a SPEED RUN. ROFL

  • I was waiting to see if there was some sort of glitch or easter egg that let you finish the game. Guess he just needed some video to fill the time.

  • What a horrible night for having a curse.

I always thought that it was a bit stupid to say that. I mean, every night is horrible for a curse, you never want to have one

  • where is final boss music?

  • 0:50 = Godliness

  • Agreed.

  • I absolutely love the Castlevania series. This was one of the first games I ever owned as a child. I still own my Nintendo and I'd love to play it again, but I don't have enough air in my lungs to be blowing the cartridge right now lol. As for those that don't like Simon's Quest...well, it IS your opinion, but the game isn't THAT hard. Come on, I had no problem playing the game when I was 4.

  • This game was awesome. Brings back my childhood everytime I hear the music.

  • Best in the nes trilogy in my opinoin. Music is just icing on the cake. Proved you don't need crazy difficulty and insane boss fights to have an amazing castlevania game. Set the precedent for symphony of the night onward. I love one and three but this one has always had more replay value, a bigger fun factor and is a much better game for killing time. Dracula should have been harder but you can make the fight hard by waiting for him to start attacking and not going crazy level grinding.

  • Fuck year bloody tears. So classic.

  • yeahaaaaa

  • oh the memories:)

  • "What a horible night to have cruse"

  • Comment removed

  • I know some of you like this game, but the 5 minutes of video shown here are pretty much what this game is like, boring, repetitive killing the same monsters/zombies to get hearts to buy the various items. The music is indeed awesome, and the dungeons are well thought out (except for the invisible floors), but the fact that there are hardly any bosses, and some things are damn impossible to figure out without a guide, make this game the worst one in the series =(

  • You haven't played the game :) I can tell...

You probobly just looked at the reviews.

  • Played through it fully both once as a kid and once a couple of years ago, both times with the help of a guide. Was really painful to play through it the second time knowing that at the very end there was nothing but a really crappy designed end boss with no challenge in the final dungeon

  • You're going through castle ruins there isn't supposed to be enemies, he sent them all away to protect himself and sealed the castle off. You can manipulate the dracula battle to make it tougher. The fact that you can attack him while he's appearing is obviously a design flaw.

  • there are rpg elements incorporated into the gameplay. Some people don't like that. It's understandable. If you take your'e time and look around it isn't nearly as hard as avgn and other's make it out to be. My buddies and I used to all sit around back in the day taking turns trying to uncover new secrets and treasures looking for the next clue. It really brings people together. Anyone can just sit down and play it.

  • Castlevania 2 is my favourite in the series, largely due to the music.

  • the begginning music is the best

  • i dont care what people say

Castlevania 2 is a good game

    it is worth a try

  • Id like to see someone cover the nighttime song from Simon's Quest. I really think it can be made into a bad ass metal song.

  • Bloody Tears is still easily my favorite Castlevania tune.

  • Durante 2 años jugaba a este juego todos los días. Batí todos los record mundiales de experiencia y al final lo acabe. Junto al Metal Gear de Nes y el Probotector de Nes me marcaron como hombre:

    Simon Quest: Constancia

    Metal Gear: Honor

Probotector: Lealtad y Valor a mis congeneres

  • I couldn't figure out kneeling in front of the wall with the red crystal to get the tornado to take you to the other side.

  • Bloody Tears <3

  • my favourite is Dwelling of Doom...

  • Bloody Tears FTW!!

  • Really love this game, lots of fun... At least if you have a guide, since it's borderline impossible to beat since it was so poorly translated. Fantastic music, as well. :)

  • seems like the sequels always sucked on the nes for AAA titles, then the threequel comes out, just like the classic, and takes everyone out. god i love the nes, castlevania ftw, maybe not so much 2... go music though...

  • Yes these songs are carved into my soul a long time ago... Great game which i never beated.

  • Are you crazy Spunkalish ?

The only thing which sucks in Simon's Quest, is the "riddles", like,
