What a beautiful, passionate and full-bodied tone. By that I mean that he breathes with his whole body using it to let the sound resonate. Young flutists take note. He is truly a virtuoso playing in his own style. Glad to see that he didn't try to copy the Galway version. How refreshing. His articulation is impeccably accurate and clear. Once or twice it was a little too fast for my taste, but all in all, a great and enjoyable performance. I would love to study with him.

Ok... the first two bars are as following. You play 2 16th note Bs then 1 eight, jumping up an octave each time. Repeat this pattern (first note) B,F#,C#,F#,B,F#,C#,F#. Then two bars rest

So key slapping is perhaps not the best thing but I think anyone criticising the key slapping should try playing this piece first... its farking hard!

This piece isn't that bad... the reason it is so hard is that Rodrigo wrote it for james galaway and wanted it to be the hardest thing ever. So it does not have what we are used to like common scales arpeggios, it is just notes.... After i went slow to the point were i could get all the notes, then it was just speeding it up.... took about 2-3 months to get at a 1 for a typical high school ensemble, but i already have my S+E music, and i dont think they would like this to be played as a solo

obviously you don't know very much about professional flautists, when you are playing a professional flute you must press hard so no air escapes!

Not true at all, the harder you hit the keys, the faster your flute breaks. And with Powell's new Straubringer Pads, you don't even have to touch the keys(it seems) and they go down.
