@FyreBalletDancer i am takin a psychology class and we just studied about hypnosis. hypnosis works by having the partisipant to focus on one thing (a swing watch, spinning spiral ect.) so much that they dull out evey thing else and become highly segestible. i think he used the ring to draw elizebeth's focus and hypnotize her.

i really like this movie, but in the sherlock holmes books watson wasnt a daft sweetheart he was actually super helpful to holmes on all mysteries...it dosent do the book justice.
@ourtubenotyours The books had Holmes and Watson meeting as adults. Barry Levinson told me (he was there at the movie preview and I managed to chat with him for a moment) that he'd done this movie simply because he wanted to speculate on what Holmes and Watson were like as boys, when Watson may have been not quite so helpful nor Holmes so cerebral and emotionally reticent.
it was rather obvious the nurse was in on it after the scene where they were caught by the fencing teacher, because she seemed so nice before it was hard to believe that she would jump right to sending the dog to the pound...unless of course she was the one that had been chased by the dog before which would make that perfectly reasonable, but eh...still interesting
does anyone else see that there's an unessary h in hholmes at the title of this part
