  • What makes the Golf different from the Jetta is the fact that it is still built in Germany.

  • difference between Jetta TDI and GLI? ._.

  • @antidescent The TDI uses a turbocharged diesel engine, where the GLI uses a turbocharged gasoline engine.

  • @CarsiLuv ty!. but the GLI is more pricey?

  • @antidescent The GLI is about $1000 more than the TDI. Also, the TDI gets tremendous mileage.

  • @CarsiLuv ok thank you! btw the new jetta 2012 tdi braking isnt smooth, my dad has is and its disappointing. but other than that it runs like great

  • is the bluemotion Diesel in US? or just the TDI? =/

  • It`s all about cost. The previous jetta was better hand made and it was a medium-high car. The new Jetta goes to the american market which is considere a medium-lower car, and that is why the lower quality.

  • OMG this is so stupid! Actually Puebla's Volkswagen Factory is the biggest outside Gemrany and haha and mexicans work really hard every day!! hahah you had to be British!!! you think can do everything better!

  • That is why Matt is funny. You just can't be funnier! Haha...

  • the big plastic bottle is back again!

  • when you compare this car to others in its class like the Toyota corolla and the Honda civic this car is miles ahead in my opinion. From the handling, to the power, to the exterior and interior design this car is a much better option overall.

  • Very dissapointed at matt's comments about the MEXICAN built Jetta! Sounded a little stereotypical!

  • @tepeke88 hahaha i know! its def. the same as if it was made in Germany!!

  • Instead of buying the Jetta from Pueblo MEX with quesadilla smell inside, I rather buy it from Wolfsburg GER with smell of pure freshness!!

  • Headroom in the back is pretty low. My head was touching the roof.

  • His latest videos never fail to impress people with creativity and entertainment.

  • Is it the same Jetta being sold in the U.S market

  • Comment removed

  • @techfan42 looks like they have a bit more features than the US models, like the center rear air vents, wish they had them on the US Jetta and the Passat :'(

  • @contractki11er it has to be because the 2011 and newer jettas have been absolutely butchered by reviewers in america

  • The looks are beginning to grow on me, sort of like the A4. The price is definitely much better! The interior has its ups and downs to me, I like the gear shifter and the look of the steering wheel but I don't like the look of the almost bargain-bin navigation system nor the aforementioned cheap plastics inside. Loved the ending Matt, you are fuckin' brilliant sometimes!

  • Airport taxi

  • VW have started to build for the US market. CHEAP. They prefer a car with a trunk rather than a hatchback. The Jettas used to cost more in the US than the Golfs. Now they have a bare bone Tiguan too. I hope VW doesn't go down hill any more, the new Passat is a bland looking car too.

  • Does anyone know the song at 1:36?

  • boring car , no wonder it was called bora long time ago

  • Rather have the golf they really fucked up the jetta here in the states

  • built in mexico S:

  • Yes. Impressive engines. bla bla bla. It looks boring outside and also inside. You dont want that do you ?

  • Just found a old auto trader episode with matt in it looking at a 5 series that had been in a lake

  • Saw the new Jetta a few months ago at a local car show. It had substantially lower price point than previous models. the car not seem part of the VW product line. The interior was very cheap looking. the TD I estate version was up to VW standard. Not sure why they cheapened the Jetta Sedan model.

  • Interior quality is horrible. Even much cheaper Octavia has better quality SOFT touch plastics on the door panels!

  • in my opinion theycant say that thhe jetta's design s boring.for example me, i very like the jetta's and passat's design.but the dash insides plastic plastics arent vw style and it isnt fair the car costs as much as the last gen jetta here in germany!

  • Still prefer the golf

  • MEH!

  • I own that Jetta, and I'm in Mexico haha. I was waiting for this review for a long time ago. I'm a big fan of your reviews. And yes, the downgrades from the previous jetta to this one is mainly because they needed to cut off costs to make it attractive to American market. The car you are testing it's actually German built. A 100% German car and that's because you are in Europe. :D

  • Skoda Octavia!

  • VW Corona

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah Matt its still Germanic.. I was born in America but I still am an Asian person. Lol.

  • Solid car, but they've done what Honda did for their current gen Civic - cheapened it where they could. The interior plastics of both cars when from top drawer to 1999 era economy car. The odd thing is the new small Fords and Chevys are going more "soft-touch" whereas they used to be the hard, brittle plastic.

  • i love your reviews :D good job !

  • I would have this over our 2010 Golf any day!

  • Consumer Reports would completely disagree with this review. I don't know how I wanna think of this new Jetta myself......the looks of the interior and exterior are beginning to grow on me and news of its awesome diesel gets me excited.....but yet somehow its constantly thought of as a downgrade of the previous generation. Meh :/

  • u need to watch your weight bro.

  • Some mercedes are built with over 40% of mexican made parts!, the previous jetta was better made but the reason for why the new one in cheaply made is the U.S VW said in a communicate that they were going to cut expenses in over 30% in the manufacture of this new one to make it cheaper and more "competitive" in the U.S so mexicans took it double because its now more expensive in mexico that the previous one, jettas have been top selling cars in mexico, that why its made in Puebla.

  • In Australia we get Golf's from Wolfsburg in Germany and Polo's from South Africa and there is a certain difference in materials used especially from the knee down. (i do realise the polo is a cheaper car than the golf).

  • Mitsubishi Lancer - Can u make a reviwe with that car ?

  • can you please do a review of hyundai elantra? i'm thinking of getting that for my next car, but im not sure if it would be better than jetta, civic, or corolla. I heard elantra is an exellent car, but i would love to see the review from you mat. Thank you :)

  • Nice review as usual but VWs are so tediously dull :o(

  • Super review as always, short, professional and exactly about the main important aspects of this car. Keep going on this Matt!

  • Great review matt. No offence mate, but ive noticed you've put weight on recently. Can I recommend buying some bigger clothes, because we keep seeing either your boxers or your beer belly. Not a pleasant sight. Or you could get down the gym and shift your ever increasing gut.

  • Guys Mexican built cars are no worst than other cars, Mexico also assembles Cadillacs and I think the last gen jetta. It's not the Mexican factories fault, it's the automotive company as a whole.

  • @SebastianMuino The Volkswagen Group owns Audi...

  • WTF, it looks like an audi. This is the third time that VW copies something from other cars..

  • @SebastianMuino VW kind of owns Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Skoda, Porsche, Seat and Bugatti

  • The mexican joke :D

  • POST A SUPER CAR REVIEW FOR CHRISTMAS PLZ :D

    (if u can)

  • Can you do a review of Lambo Reventón :D

  • The Mexican thing was just a joke. Seriously, why can't stuff like this be banned in countries like the US and Mexico? Those are the worst nations, by far, when it comes to British and Europeans stuff like this.

  • State the stats.

  • Reduced quality: Even the glove box and side door bins. Also worse in sound deadening and ride quality according to most reviews. Not so good priced. This car continues the bad road the previous cars chose through their conception.

  • best value for money are the new Hyundais/Kias, VW is just for showoff.

  • that fantastic feeling when he does the car you really wanted!!!

  • Thx for the review Matt. Been waiting for this one since I can choose my companycar in about 5 months

  • The end of the review sums up the VW design trend quite nicely.

Anyhow here is a challenge for Mat.Review the Toyota Aygo and try to find somthing good about it,unless you did and i missed it already.

  • The Jetta used to be an interesting vehicle ... now its turned into a total bland mobile.

  • @Triumph336 it was never interesting

  • @Triumph336 I guess you haven't driven it then.

  • How could you give a pass at this horrible piece of Mexican built crap, yet criticize the Volvo S60 for imprecise steering and figity suspension!? I've driven both and the Jetta is in NO way better than ANY other car in the market. Honestly, I thought you were less bias. :(

  • @AdrianC12345 So what if it is built by Mexicans? It is one of the best factories VW has in America, many VW vehicles come from there, and all of them are good. I definitely agree that the Volvo S60 is better but that was just racist.

  • @MrMadpenguin Oh please, I'm one of the bazillion Mexicans living in SoCal. Anyways, it's NOT one of their best factories because a little while ago they had to fire everyone who worked in the plant because so many VWs were having issues with fit and finish. On top of VW's horrid reliability it seems ridiculous that he gives such a positive review of this extremely bland, boring, unreliable, slow car. He might as well go praising 1990s Kias for being the best cars ever!

  • Everyone wants a range rover review except for the jackass who doesn't

  • Omg it's so dreary where's the vavoom

  • Funny

  • If you know that unfortunately Mexicans work longer and heavier than you think. Well, every country knows what it is capable of achieving.

  • i40 plz

  • skoda octavia any one for few quid less

  • how can have transmission tunnel if the jetta is front wheel drive ?

  • @miledplayer its built on the golf platform like erm an audi a3 and skoda octavia which has a 4wd version or in audi's case s3 rs3 and quattro

  • Can you please review the new vauxhall zafira tourer

  • Octavia Jetta - Jetta is ugly and overpriced with poor standard equipment.

  • Jeremy Clarkson doesnt like this car much, although his a fan of Golf, this is basically a Golf just a sedan.

  • @mustsilm jeremy clarkson its a fucking stupid bastard with racism issues!!!!

  • Matt! You listend to me again! Thank you!

  • Why do you keep ignoring me ! I know it could be hard but I want to see the euro version of the Camaro reviewed !!!

  • wow this thing is slightly boring?

  • Good video review Matt, thanks

  • Why the heck would this car have a hump in the rear floor due to a transmission tunnel, if it is a front wheel drive to begin with?

  • Hmm..I'm actually a big fan of Carbuyer's reviews...but why not speaking about the headroom or the backseat 'lies flat' thing this time, not to speak of the huge brim the boot has...just because it is VW it has its good and its bad as any other brands do.

  • I thought that mexican made Jettas going to Europe had better build quality and even a different suspension system, but it seems they're the same they sell in NA and Latin America - keep the good work Mat :)

  • @DarthCardo Yeah I thought that too but it looks like the Euro version is just as shitty as the North American version. At least ours is built in the US.

  • @datboiwes333 Yours is built in Mexico too you know

  • @aspiringdrummer17 No not anymore the new ones are built in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

  • @datboiwes333 Those won't be on sale until next year though. The ones on sale now are still being built in Mexico

  • @aspiringdrummer17

correct, still being made in Mexico just like Nissan...but I feel that mexican build quality is very good - Jetta's previous generation came from Puebla too - if current generation has inferior build quality it's up to VW and not Mexico :)

  • @DarthCardo You're right, it is VW's responsibility. Especially as they send over officials from Germany to oversee production

  • @DarthCardo I agree, VW standards are the same everywhere no matter what company or car is produced there. So do not blame the country where the car is made or finished product. This is a golden rule, all companies applies. So Matt, you talking rubbish.

  • @Biancul Not true!!! Jetta and Golf Variant from Mexico is lot more cheapy then a Golf from Wolfsburg factory in terms of build quality, materials, isolation and features.

  • @DarthCardo yea but european version isn't made in mexico... We don't get the crap you guys do.

  • @aspiringdrummer17 You're right I was thinking of the Passat.

  • Comment removed

  • Can you do a review about the new Fiat Panda pls???!!!!

  • So i'm guessing Mat like big 'bottles' :)

  • Checked out Jetta the other day and yes, I found the door trim to be very cheap, felt like Polo Sedan which is made in Russia (but costs 2 times less). It may be ok for Toyota or Mitsu but for VW it's a shame, especially since Golf and Tiguan are similarly priced and come with better interior quality. Otherwise, I quite like this car actually. It's simple, but classy enough and will look great even in 10 years.

  • Mat ALWAYS recommends the diesel option. Is diesel much more popular over in the UK? Here in Toronto, I don't know a SINGLE person who drives a diesel...

  • @cleanupinaisle3 Diesel is popular all over Europe.

  • Great review as always

  • I own the same car, but with the 2.0L TDI. It's a pretty fun engine, lots of torque.

  • Ohh.. I thought you were going to take the bottle outta doorbin and then try fit in the boot :P

  • whats your day by day car?

  • @bursuk2007 He has a Vauxhall Corsa and a Mazda MX-5

  • Volkswagen Polo > Skoda Fabia

    Volkswagen Golf/Jetta > Skoda Octavia

    Volkswagen Passat > Skoda Superb

In any way Skoda achieves more value for money then ANY other car brand in the world i reckon

  • @234jari234 Skodas are usualy based on previous year vw models and in direct comparions aren't as refined as their VW counterparts.

  • @Raffix394 Still value for money is better then ever

  • matt you wear awsm watches what brand do you prefer the most great review as always on cars

  • 67 mpg?!?!? do the british measure mpg like the americans? thats amazing

  • @foxxmufasa yes and it does get annoying because come the fuel station and it's hard to work out how many miles we'll get because our fuel's in litres.

  • @foxxmufasa No,..the British use the imperial gallon which is a bit larger than the American gallon. So 67 mpg comes out to about 55(ish?) mpg.

  • @Poler777 55mpg in america is still insane. they r bragging about 40 mpg cars here wen i usually see much more on this channel. cars in america suck.

  • who actually sits in the middle seat with their feet in the middle? i always sit with one to each side of the centre console. even if there is no transmission tunnel.

  • Comment removed

  • Mini Clubman and Bentley Continental GT please !! :)

  • Much prefer the Golf, personally. But, another great review!

  • The level of quality of Jetta is not even similar to Golf, its more like Polo.

  • what's that black rubber covering the left arm of the boot supporter but not the right ones? 0:33

  • @boy638 it houses the wiring for the lights of the plate, boot release, and the portion of the tail light that is on the boot lid.

  • @boy638 It looks like something to protect the wire that is for remotely opening the boot lid.

  • looks almost exactly the same as the passat

  • @ktonlai shouldn't the passat look like it since this came out first?

  • @itsTiLER sure, either way they did a pretty crappy job of differentiating the two

  • NISSAN X-TRAIL

  • NISSAN X-TRAIL

  • NISSAN X-TRAIL PLEASE!!!

  • boring, dullest car in the world. but it is a good car. I think it is a reference point for all other (same class) rivals.

  • @spookyarda the jetta looks brilliant

  • Great review as always. Could you review the Chevrolet Orlando and Citroen DS5 ? I´d really like to know what you think about these cars.

  • I never put my feet on the transmission tunnel, I always put them besides it ! can't figure out why you make such a big fuss about that ?!

  • @MaxPower824 if you are seated with three full grown adults at the back and on for a longer journey... you will know why....

  • this guy should be on tv and everywhere. He is really good!

  • Anyone who buys a Jetta is not a petrol head lets face it

  • Great Matt, this time you even shown us a detailed look of the dash and all involving parts, as asked before.

Keep up the good work ;)

  • I love this car! Great review, Mat!

  • climax was greatest ...

  • I know that is alot to ask but:

Can you review a Volkswagen Sharan 4motion 140 or 170 TDI, preferable on a snowy road?

You have probably the best car reviews. Thank you!

  • We have this car in Brazil. It's marketed as a sort of "premium midsize saloon" over here with the choice of a 2.0 8 valve 120 bhp engine that runs on petrol, ethanol or a mix of the two and a 2.0 Turbo 211 bhp petrol engine. The 8 valve is the most affordable version, but painfully slow, the Turbo is nice, but way too expensive and the design has no presence. No wonder VW is having a hard time selling the Jetta over here and I'm pretty sure they won't sell many Jettas in the UK, either.

  • Why are the boot's goosenecks (33 seconds) mismatched?

  • @burddesu Because it's built by tequila-fueled Mexicans who only work on Mondays.

  • @JELH oooo soo shame you brains never works :(

  • @RobertIcelos Don't you have anything better to do like getting shiftaced on tequila and being kidnapped?

  • @JELH go drink some more tea for your rotten teeth

  • @JELH the quality its a company decision not a country issue stupid bastard!!! just must be an other stupid british!!!!! ... the jetta its the best selling car in the USA for VW...and the americans love biggest and cheapest cars not the Mexicans....we have class "imbecil" People like you must be killed by ZETAS!!! ....

  • @osanchez3 I'm not British, pendejo!

  • @osanchez3 shut d fuck up u bleady son f a murderer ..who always trying to sneak into usa by any means...u bleady criminal mexican

  • @JELH Mexicans are hard workers, who work overtime at one of the biggest factories VW factories in the would, show a little respect will you? Racism demonstrates ignorance and stupidity.

  • Comment removed

  • @JELH haha they actually work more than you! and haha you must really like tequila because you only thought on that when you heard Mexico... annd Tequila is from Jalisco not from Puebla bastard! and they work 7 DAYS A WEEK! haha but of course you had to be british... you think you can do everything better!

  • Car with no soul. Just a tool. Just another microwave..

  • I am subscribes just to two channels, one is @CTFxC and I think there's no need to say which is the other one, good job Mat, you are the man, man! :)

  • what a facke smile Matt :D we all know you wanted to get out of the boring car A.S.A.P. ..... the only car in this clas that truly made you smile and made you wana drive the car 4 ever was .... BMW 3-series !

  • /watch?v=VTzlPwS9bg8 "real smile" ! ;]

  • I just realised the title is misspelled. :S

  • sponsored by Volvic :)

  • Dear Jetta,

    I'm not impressed at all!

  • Can u make a video with Volkswagen up! ?

  • How could a front wheel drive car have a transmission tunnel?

  • @bigcrowfly Yeah that is really odd.
