The dev kits have been sent to ubisoft and ea.

They're working on Rainbow Six Patriots, Medal of Honor, and another title... which I'll leave everyone else to assume... ;)

GTA5 and Max Payne 3 will probably be the last memorable titles.

Halo 4 will be washed away with 343 industries, along with the franchise.

Expect the xbox 720 in stores either 4th quarter 2012 or 1st quarter 2013.

@TheMunneyShot The specs and cores do not matter. The playstation 3 has 8 cores, but it doesn't mean it is any more powerful then a pc with 4 cores. The ghz don't matter either, yes it does affect performance but it isn't going to mean it's superior to another cpu because it has a higher clock speed.

@mistertitanic For anyone to consider the XBL and PSN feel the same is absurd. I have both, since their respective launch days. The connection quality is far superior on XBOX. Not saying PSN is bad, but its not as good. Plus if you buy DLC, its cheaper on XBL for that reason alone.

@TheMunneyShot Both allow you to play online with other players, thus, they both work fine. Yet Xbox 360 charges you. That sucks. Xbox just seems to nickel and time you in every possible way. You even need to constantly buy batteries for your controllers!

I heard a rumour about the windows 8 architecture allowing for direct ports of Xbox games so there is no need to port the game all they need to do is change the control systems. If this is true then it might be interesting to look into the windows 8 framework for clues into the new Xbox's features. Please correct me if im wrong on this like i said just a rumour i heard, but it does sound plausible since windows 8 is designed to unify Microsoft's products.

im not sure if anyone remebers splinter cell double agent but that game came out for both the xbox and xbox 360. the xbox version was downgraded and lacked certain levels the 360 version had. I would not be suprised if the same technique would be used on halo 4 or GTA 5, however this is speculation

Thanks for the link I don't own a 360 due to it's high failure rate. And it's red ring of death I value the money I spend so if there are legit sources. That Microsoft won't pull what they did with 360 I'll look into the 720. Depending on the features and games I might buy one.

Those games might actually be in development for the 720. GTA could possibly be ported to ps3, maximizing that systems potential.

As most of you know, ps3s hardware is a overkill for most games, especially multiplatform games.

They said that they will not be releasing a new xbox for at least another 3 years. The slim IS the new xbox. At least for a couple more years. Also the 720s name doesnt make any sense. Because 360 means it does 360 degrees of things

Though there was rumours of EA getting a prototype xbox dev kit back in May so games are most likely already in development. Developers I don't think need to have final dev kits to start working on next gen games.  As long as they get a rough idea of the spec of the next xbox they can start development on PC's.
