@S3raphyx I understand what you're saying about Phil. But I was talking about other gamers, if you know how to properly play this game, a shotgun can be a very useful weapon in this fight. Hell, I use it every time, occasionally the sniper, too.
@OmegaWeaponX2 Then sure you can use whatever weapon you want if youre actually half decent at playing the game. I just used the tranq gun for most of the bosses and I did fine. It just seems very awkward to me that for someone who is an amazing sniper he wants to use an extremely close range weapon, and for someone who will murder him close range he thought itd be a good idea to melee (yeah I know he used sniper later on for the Fury). Just his logic is so off for me with his COD playstyle

I was expecting this from Phil since I saw his MGS2 playthough. I knew he was going to Rambo most of this game and never, EVER use codec to call his allies for advice on bosses and complain about the controls when he fails at something since he did all of that in MGS2. I really don't know why he refuses to use the codec. It would have saved him lots of problems.

Curiously, whenever you play a game that has rules, do you get mad because it's not just like real life? Do you get mad that you can't grab the edges in Super Mario Brothers? @Schimizzle I will say Phil / DSP can be quick to judge a game: DSP Thinks that The Gotham City Impostors beta (On PS3) lags and is buggy. This however is not the case as I've NEVER ran acrossed any of the Lag DSP / Phil spoke of..
On the other side, Phil surely needs to understand the so special game rules on this one, and to use the goddamn codec more often, but he also needs to finish the game as soon as possible so he can do other pending and incoming playthroughs.
Simply put, MGS was not made for DSP, he either should stop playing the series or try to adapt with the game rules and to use common gaming sense. (A dead end? Gee, how about going back? No, he repeatedly feels from the cliff to die.)
Well, I actually agree with Phil about the game design of this game. If the game warns you to get treatment and eat to recover from injuries and stamina, sneaking, using camouflage and such then someone could understand this is a serious stealth game. However everything goes wrong when it comes to fight against bosses with their invisibility frames and other ridiculous aspects of the story, it simply contradicts to what you're supposed to be experiencing, awful controls don't help either.
What's with all the negativity rescently? I am enjoying this playthrough of his it is funny to see him struggle. People need to realize its for entertainment and not to be taken this seriously. It's free and optional entertainment no one is making you watch it.

after certain damage your character (snake) can't take anymore and the game gives you those after-hit invincibility. same happens with bosses. if it weren't for that you would have been fried a long time ago...
To be fair, the controls are clunky. How many times have you wanted to go prone, but you accidentally stand up, or vice versa. It's understandable how someone who's used to the fluid, swift controls of say, call of duty's fps mechanics, to be frustrated when he goes back and plays this relic from the past, especially when he's 5 hours into the play session and the anger just comes through.

@JoJoStarFire I understand how you feel: A game called Monster Hunter came out on PS2 and the Easy / training quest took so long and the gameplay was (For most paid reviewers too hard to get used to in a short amount of time). So almost every "Big name" review website / magazine judge the game off of THE TRAINING QUEST.
Yes it takes some time to learn how to use each weapon type, And learn how to avoid attacks. But if you take the time and get good you'll have no issues.

Non lethal and lethal have separate health bars.
Melee attacks deplete the stamina bar. His other meter was nearly gone. He was almost dead and you blew it.

If the game warns you to get treatment and eat to recover from injuries and stamina, sneaking, using camouflage and such then someone could understand this is a serious stealth game. However everything goes wrong when it comes to fight against bosses with their invisibility frames and other ridiculous aspects of the story, it simply contradicts to what you're supposed to be experiencing, awful controls don't help either.

after certain damage your character (snake) can't take anymore and the game gives you those after-hit invincibility. same happens with bosses. if it weren't for that you would have been fried a long time ago...

To be fair, the controls are clunky. How many times have you wanted to go prone, but you accidentally stand up, or vice versa. It's understandable how someone who's used to the fluid, swift controls of say, call of duty's fps mechanics, to be frustrated when he goes back and plays this relic from the past, especially when he's 5 hours into the play session and the anger just comes through.

@JoJoStarFire I understand how you feel: A game called Monster Hunter came out on PS2 and the Easy / training quest took so long and the gameplay was (For most paid reviewers too hard to get used to in a short amount of time). So almost every "Big name" review website / magazine judge the game off of THE TRAINING QUEST.
Yes it takes some time to learn how to use each weapon type, And learn how to avoid attacks. But if you take the time and get good you'll have no issues.
