  • I just bought one of these and it should be here in a couple days. I also bought a Logitech F710 wireless gamepad to use with it... yes, I plan to play PC games and console emulators on my plasma now! :)

  • can the piece connected to the computer be used with an AC adapter???

  • WARNING: Thia DOES NOT work with a desktop. I have tried it on 2. It only worked on my 2 laptops.

  • Your display is mirrored. I'm thinking of this as a invisible HDMI cable. So does it work just like if I had a HDMI cable from PC to HDTV? I should be able to set my PC display resolution, and use as external monitor, drag and drop windows from PC to TV?

  • Debating on buying one at work $78 thats all threw my work.

  • Don, where does the sound come from, your TV?

  • @ENP1980 Not sure what you mean but, the sound from the PC goes through the wireless HDMI box, to the TV. So yes the sound goes to the TV. But I have audio out from my TV to speakers. Haven't tried it w a receiver for HTIB but I can't imagine it wouldn't work.

  • @ycdruss Thanks, Don.

  • how does it work going through walls?

  • @codecaine Not so sure. I used it with the door of my office closed. Its a simple, hollow plywood door, had no issues. Not sure about concrete or sheet rock. Keep it mind it's meant to be used w a PC and line of sight tho. Give it a shot.

  • does it have RGB ports? i want to connect laptop wirelessly to an old TV

  • @werewasyo No RGB or RCA ports HDMI only.

  • This is also a great device to use with your desktop. I have mine hooked up from my main pc in the bedroom to the 60 inch lcd in the living room. I use the Logitech wireless k800 keyboard/trackball from my couch. This device has turned me into a extreme couch potato!

  • @ycdruss

When u plugged it in to your pc and tv there was no adjusting of resolutions to your pc cause your pc resolution is native 1080p? Just trying to figure out if i get a new laptop with 1080p resolution it will just work perfect out of the box with out resolution changes?

    Thanks

  • @TheHookahzorr my resolution syned up fine with the Envy 15 and my TV...but I the image didn't quite fill the screen. I had to go into the ati controls on the Envy and add overscan to fill my TV screen. Hope that helps.

  • @ycdruss

Thanks, i was just curious, must be a big screen tv thing...

  • sir, i would like to ask if i can use/connect hp wireless tv connect into a multimedia projector? im currently a 5th year engineering student and having my project study subject. and i would like to propose a "wireless projection using iPAD2" project. is it possible sir? thanks a lot.

  • @kielpogee I haven't tried it w a multimedia projector, but I'd be curious to see if what you're proposing works. Unfortuntaly I don't have an ipad2 or projector handy. Keep in mind this product is designed to connect a PC to a TV, so if it doesn't work don't knock HP too badly. This product does a great job at what it says it does. If you try it please post a vid or review.

  • Hi, mine\d i ask how big your tv is and what resolutions you have on your laptop and tc\v, ive had my hp wireless tv connect and ive been using it fine on 1024x768 which isnt full widescreen on my laptop but is on my tv cause it auto fits, the other day out of the blue somehow i got it to actually goto 1360x768 and it made went to my tv perfect the next day it wont go back to that resolution.

any suggestions would be great ive tried everything and its driving me bananas!!

  • @TheHookahzorr My TV is a 40 inch at 1080p. The res on my PC is also 1920x1080...it was the first gen HP Envy 15. If I'm understanding your issue correctly, 1024x768 doesn't fill your TV screen natively, your TV makes it auto fit. But when you had it on 1360x768 it did fill the screen. I'd check to if you can access your graphics controller. I had to use some overscan on my PC to fill my TV screen.

  • @ycdruss

thanks thats just what i wanted to know, my resolution on my pc doesnt support 1920x1080

    Thanks!

  • @ycdruss Does it need a computer or can it be plugged directly into a blu-ray player or cable box?

  • @dwadeismvp3 I've had a lot of the questions so I'm going to give it a shot soon. A friend is borrowing the connect but I'll get a video up as soon as I can...within the next week or so. Stay tuned.

  • What's the name of that thingy you're watching on Hulu? And also, is it possible to use an dvi to hdmi converter (my pc doesn't have hdmi out)? And on final note, is this device only compatible with pc/laptops or does it support anything with an hdmi out?

  • @dan01sama Not sure about the thingy, unless you mean the space pod from that episode of Community. I used a DVI to HDMI converter w my mac and it worked for video...couldn't get the audio figured but didn't spend much time on it. The device is supposed to be compatible w any device that has HDMI, tho I didn't try it. I've since moved on to Roku, but I'm curious about hooking it to an HDMI switch and putting the components in a closet. Post a vid if you try a non-pc hook up.

  • Ok for just 5 meters is better and really cheapper buying an hdmi cable rsrsrsr!

  • I ordered it and unfortunately i'm getting a lot of stutter when watching movies. I'm certain it's the hp connect because I hardwired in and it was perfect. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks

  • @jushooks99 I never had any issues with stutter so I never had to fix that. How far away are the receiver boxes? if its more than 15-20feet that might be a problem. Also thick walls and metal might obstruct the signal.

I would try using another PC with hdmi to see if its definitely the wireless connect. That would tell you for sure.

  • Hi. Great video, thanks for this. Few questions for you:

    1. Are you still happy with it?

    2. How do 1080p videos look? Are u able to get 5.1 surround?

This is kind of a separate question but would my logitech harmony 1100 remote be able to control my laptop like your ipad did?

  • Also, can u still use your computer and watch a movie at the same time?

  • @jushooks99 I'm def still happy with it. Use it pretty much everyday. No issues so far.

1080p looks great IMO. I'd say most people will not see a difference. Depends on how exacting you are when it comes to picture quality. I don't have a 5.1 setup, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. As long as your source and receiver support 5.1 you should be good to go.

I don't know enough about the harmony to comment.

  • Do you watch blu ray and DVDs on your laptop?

  • I like your hp laptop.

  • @randyyean thx envy 15...1st gen

  • Thanks ycdruss.

  • Where did you get the hp wireless tv from?

  • @randyyean hp.com or amazon

  • I wish I have a hp wireless tv. So i could watch some DVDs on my laptop.

  • Where can i buy it? it is available at bestbuy or anywhere?

  • @itsMaum its on the hpshopping site and amazon right now. I'm kinda peeved...amazon has it for $177 with free shipping. I paid $199.

  • @ycdruss Thanks!!

  • Oh $200...

  • @DowntownRobSD Yeah...a bit steep considering the alternatives. Wouldn't shock me to see the price drop in a few months. HP doesn't aggressively market their accessories/home ent products so people don't even know they're out there.

  • Hmm how much was it? I'll have to look into this more. I just got the $99 Apple TV, which streams using iTunes etc.

  • @DowntownRobSD It's $199 right now. I have the old apple TV which I like for streaming but getting Hulu, MLB.tv and basically anything on the web on TV is pretty sweet. We cut cable about a year ago so the web is our TV. I want to get my hands on the Roku box next and give it a shot. Just not sure hulu plus is worth the $7.99.
