  • first thing ..

Canadiean dont kiss girls if the meet ....

Tretiak wife was waiting for the kiss from Gretzky ..

i have a peroblem with it ,since I live for a long time in the USA..

  • @napajedlacek Gretzky is belorussian!! not fuckin' american

  • @Askar9992 - you dont get the point .,I am saying people in US and Canada dont kiss if they meet first time.in Russia they do .

Gretzky has half polish, half belorussian ..heritage..of course Canadian .

  • Уважаю Вейна! Настоящий мужик! Самый аторитеный из всех игроков! Салава Великому!

  • what an awesome video - thanks for posting this!

  • What is the name of this video? Is it available on DVD? I saw this one time at a Hockey Camp in Montreal, and I'd love to buy it? Anyone out there have any info for me?

  • i read that a young pavel bure is in the video. where is pavel bure in the video?

  • @avalanchesuperstar I'll put it up soon

  • @tjackson76 good. can you also put up the deleted scene where gretzky gets drunk?

  • @tjackson76 please do

  • in soviet russia, tretiak visit you!

  • Rofl at the girl dancing who turned gretzky away

  • @TheHeeelios i don't think it will ever be released on dvd. and the vhs i have is the only one i've ever seen. its called "champions vol. 1 - wayne gretzky" made in 1983.

  • This is some rare footage. Thank you greatly

  • не водка...Уэйн даже не морщится...прям как русский))

  • What a thrill that must have been for the Gretzky family. Tretiak was then, and remains today, one of a kind.

  • tretiak is totally respected by most north americans. as for the greatest ever, will have to remain conjecture. can't leave out sawchuk or brodeur.

  • @znogypogy I wouldn't leave Dryden, Roy, or Hasek out either.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi Roy and Hasek for sure. dryden had savard, robinson, lapointe, langway and a phenominal team in front of him. esposito was probably as good in his era. i would have to put him a tier under with espo, billy smith, glenn hall, bower. greatest ever sawchuk- brodeur-tretiak-roy-hasek 4 sure

  • @znogypogy doesn't matter who you have in front of you. You still need to stop the puck. Look how horrible the goalie Dryden took over for did. sorry He is numbers are insane.

  • and the deleted scenes is when Gretzky is drunk lol

  • @IllyaMuromets Ya, its on the bonus dics. he puts a lamp shade on his head and Tretiak says "In Soviet Russia, lamp shade wears you!"

  • Vodka "Moscowskaya" - it is a lot of vitamins))

  • All the sovjet players are nice guys, but they were trained hard and locked in . Treated like soldiers some off them said

  • Gretzky's father likely comes from a Polonized background. He's probably ethnic Byelorussian or Russian. Many Byelorussians were Polonized and the Poles in present day Belarus are in fact descendants of Polonized Byelarussians.

  • I don't think gretzky is used to being around well cultured people.

  • You could tell Gretzky really likes Tretiak and his family. Dan Henderson said that the Soviet players he met were the very humble and decent just like Tretiak's family here.

  • tretiak seems like a rly nice guy

  • why cant dima play hockey? would love to see another tretiak in the nhl or even an kharlamov

  • that video was fantastic!! really well done. nothing really like the best skater and goalie of all time sittin down for some vodka

  • if tretiak played he's team would fuck shit up so hard.

  • just to imagine this guy playing for montreal or edmonton back then is kinda scary :)

  • It seems wayne likes votka!:D

  • its good to see that Wayne re-connected with his roots or at least those close to his roots.

Gretzky's ancestors being ethnically from eastern Europe!

Gretzky is a typical east Slavic name...

makes sense that the greatest player in the history of the game would have both Canadian (huh) and Russian (belo?) blood running through his veins lol

  • yeah! his paternal grandfather was from Grodno Governorate, Russian Empire which is now Belarus.

  • is there more to this documentary anywhere i wanna see more if there is?

  • wow to be a fly on the wall in that house that day...

  • vodka and caviar - all that you need

  • I am old enough to have seen Tretiak, Parent, Roy, Smith, Dryden and on and on. Hands down, best goalie to walk the face of the earth was Tretiak. All the guys mentioned are great, but you can't simply say "compare the stats". You can't, but the man was a wall and his talent cannot be questioned.

  • @SteveGreenMachine I'm the same vintage as you, and I totally agree. For example, if it had been any goalie on earth between the pipes for the Sovs on New Years Eve 1975, that game against the Habs would have been a slaughter. Dryden was my hero when I was in my teens, but he was unnaturally flat against the Sovs. They had his number for sure. Tretiak is the greatest of all.

  • A meeting of unbelievable hockey legends. I thought the universe was supposed to curl in on itself and implode at moments like this!

  • Both players are legends. Sportsmanship in any sports is displayed in such videos - opponents on ice but friends in life. I really like what one US soldier said to Soviet during Cold War that "we are not enemies, we are just on the different sides".

P.S. Black caviar was really hard to get in Soviet Union even for a hockey star at that time.

  • Tretiak was a Beast! He was the goalie that Herb Brooks told his team before The 1980 US Hockey team's first game with the Soviets that if you score on him, KEEP THE PUCK! Because it doesn't happen very often. That wasn't just in the movie either, Herb told them that in real life and they used it in the movie. To bad he never got to play in NHL, he would of went down as a legend!

  • He is a legend.....best goalie that hockey has ever known.

  • fuck u asshole he is the best only few who can compare

  • Dude...You can't compare with stats....And fyi, none of these goalies had the pressure Tretiak had on his shoulders from day 1 with the Red Army team...

  • Russia's finest for sure!

  • World's finest....show me who could win series against the team Canada of 1974 and post shutouts against Montreal and be the youngest Olympic champion at 20.....and be inducted into the hall of fame without playing even 1 game in the NHL.....Tretiak is the best, only 1 or 2 Canadian goalies come close to him....

  • Im with you brother, I have seen the films, but was not alive during his prime. Tretiak would of definately been the goalie on an NHL team that won multiple Stanley Cups. Unfortunately for him politics of the time prevented it. True hockey fans know the truth. We in the USA have seldom seen a goalie with his skills.

  • Yeh Talent is Talent, even in Australia lol, its not about where he is from, but rather how he plays.....The U.S. coach of the 1980 Olympics said if you score on Tretiak, take the puck and keep it, cause it doesn't happen often.

His determination to fight through games was crazy, the whole soviet team didn't have mercy on themselves, they would sweat blood....which led up to 7 Olympic Golds and 15 years od domination...back to back.

But everybody has his day =) USA had their shot in 80's

  • @Sergei91 well my friend hockey players are now faster stonger bigger better .......... your goalie would get chewed up in todays world soo be happy he had his shine in the 70s and shut up hes not that great.

  • @Sergei91

they beat the wha team in 74. that is not the real thing, comrade.

  • Belorussia, Ukraina & Poland were part of Russia

  • part of Soviet Union. not Russia

  • Soviet Union existed from 1922 to 1991. Before it was RUSSIA (Russian Empire). Be a smart american boy and learn History!!

  • I am Ukrainian, and Ukraine was never part of russia or else how could it be a separate republic in the union?? u think fist then post ur stupid comments. it was conquered by Russia when it was still weak from Polish rule but like i said it was always different country.

  • Mr Bendera, you don't know history! If Poland was conquered by Russia - it was Russian territory. Ukraine was never part of Russia?? You are UNO moron! Ukraine was Russian territory from Khmelnitsky times - It called Malorossia. Lenin gave Poland freedom & made from Malorossia satelitte republic.

  • hahahaha. actually im not a benderovec) im not western Ukrainian, so im not against russia. but what ur saying.. its a total bull shit

  • Even todays Ukranian flag is a copy of Swedish flag not Russian (good old Swedish Times of ruling Ukraine, right?) Russians (try to spell it with a capital letter punk) were allies with Ukraine unlike some conquerers who didn't allow Ukraine to educate or have seperate government Russia allowed everything. Same with Georgia and Russia alliance in a time of "Turkish Massacre". Those were the times of wars and Ukraine was and is separate cuz alliance doesnt make you conquered.

  • dont be stupid, Ukrainian flag is a symbol of blue sky and yellow fields

  • Ushenko propagandha...?

hey guy please learn the true history

  • @davidyukpaul ukraine is like a satellite state

  • exactly

  • This is fascinating! I've never seen or heard of this video before. I read about this in Gretzky's book and in Tretiak's book.

  • Let's be clear: Born, bred and trained in Canada - the greatest in the WORLD

Ever read tretiak's book. LOL. PolitiX

  • wow, that was awesome

    thanks for posting

  • Gretzky...the half Ukrainian/half Polish...drinkin' with Russians. fantastic lol.

  • I believe he's half Russian half Polish.

  • half russian half ukrainian

  • Half Russian half Polish, I checked.

  • Russians: always trying to take credit for anything good. blah gretzky is Russian,. we're all Russian ya ya ya.

  • Arecherofstars i love every hockey player and i am canadian, dont tell me wat i love and dont love, and to the rest of u fighting over bull shit ur all immature it is only a game, if u think the russian team is the best team over or the flyers team or the canadiens thats ur own opinion and it doesnt make it true just cus u think it is true, ur all adults and ur fighting like children

  • BLAH BLAH BLAH...LONG LIVE HOCKEY!!

  • yes spaciba looks delicious

  • Since I'm not that into Hockey history, I found this video very very cool.

  • Wish this segment was on a dvd. Two players more successful than ANY FLyer that ever lived.

  • Obviously you know very little about Iron Curtain politics My Disgruntled Anti Flyer friend..I'll bet your a Devils Fan since you seem to love those Red Jerseys so much...As it relates to Vlad's Book/Books, ANY publication released to the Russian people and ESPECIALLY for consumption OUTSIDE the Pre Glasnost Soviet Union was ALWAYS subject to Bolshevik Government CENSORSHIP Jackass!!...Anything a person held in the Regard of a Tretiak could and Would write would be used for propaganda purposes..

  • i think this video is pretty cool and shows that all canadians greatly admire Tretiak its interesting that the best known russian is a goalie.

  • Canaddiens love Tretiak more than that piece of shit Bobby Clarke = FACT

  • Much As I love the "Conflict on Ice" special with the then Defending Stanley Cup Champion Flyers HUMILIATING Him and his Red Army Team, And the subsequent BAD Russian press heaped upon the Flyers followed by Tretiak's Comment Calling Philly's Style of play "Rude" Hockey..You GOTTA Admit..He is a 100% CLASS Act...One of the Best in the Position...NOT A Commy, But a Soldier, Officer and Goaltender Extraordinaire!...As a North American Hockey Fan, You kinda want to hate the Reds but This Guy Rules!

  • JANUARY 6, 1983 CCCP 5 FLYERS 1. The DISECTION of a drunk driver named Lindbergh and that entire 1976 team had more class and honor than your BRAOD STREET PUSSIES and the scum bag fans. I know, I live and see you pussies every day!

"Hockey Makes Friends" - Vladislav Tretiak. However I suggest you read Vlad's first book "The Hockey I Love." There you will find out what he thinks of YOU. Remember Tretiak, Kharlamov, etc are CLASS!!!

  • hey bro cool vid 5's from me

  • It's Tatiana, not Tatania.

  • HE IS BELARUS...

  • GRetzky Is actually Polish.

  • Actually, he's Canadian...

  • Always will be honoured visitors to Canada.

  • gretzky is part russian? Oh, i see where he gets all that hockey talent from now...

    haah :)

  • Gretzky grandfather was from Belarus. Gretzky is not a russian name

  • Must have been confused with his unreal hockey skill in thinking he was from Russian descent.

  • Comment removed

  • thats awsome, i love tretiak

  • 10 dollars a month for an apartment? I wish we had that.

  • Haven't seen that before, nice vid

  • Very nice video. Love these old time videos that show hockey players off ice. Gretzky and Tretiak lived in two different hockey worlds but they shared the same love for hockey. I also love how Gretzky called his girlfriend Vic LOL.
