i've try to make this text display bigger by double the led on every column, just as in your explanation. but i cannot light up both led on a point on the same time. how do i light up both of it? PLEASE HELP ME :(
@envisionelec It's NOT Charlieplexing. Charlieplexing uses the micro controller's ability to have three states (tri-state: Input, HIGH, LOW). With Charlieplexing you could control 272 LEDs with 17 pins.
Do you need protection diodes if you're using reverse polarity on half the LEDs half the time?
It would be cool if you could go into more detail on your multiplexing setup, because it's actually quite nifty. I understand if that's cutting into your product's marketability though :P

you don't because the power flows through the other diode. This way, you have a protection diode included.
