  • code??

  • i've try to make this text display bigger by double the led on every column, just as in your explanation. but i cannot light up both led on a point on the same time. how do i light up both of it? PLEASE HELP ME :(

  • nice work....

  • thank you for explaining! I've started to understand what high low and all those other codes mean.

  • It's called Charlieplexing. Google.

  • @envisionelec It's NOT Charlieplexing. Charlieplexing uses the micro controller's ability to have three states (tri-state: Input, HIGH, LOW). With Charlieplexing you could control 272 LEDs with 17 pins.

  • Cool video, I wanna make an LED Monitor, But maybe I should try doing a marque display first.

  • Very cool idea for anyone wanting to do anything with LED's...Thank you.

  • NICE idea! I think I can learn a lot from you guys

  • Do you need protection diodes if you're using reverse polarity on half the LEDs half the time?

It would be cool if you could go into more detail on your multiplexing setup, because it's actually quite nifty. I understand if that's cutting into your product's marketability though :P

  • you don't because the power flows through the other diode. This way, you have a protection diode included.

  • good project...

  • ^-^=b how about a keyboard detects all key strokes at the same time and typing cue lights by applying this technology

  • it's just commercial

  • no it's a tutorial for an awesome kit that you should get! lol jk but it is a cool kit and it is just a tutorial for begginners.
