  • Re: the intro. How Glam ...man.

  • This song's gotta be played at about a thousand decibles.

  • tremnendo clasico

  • Was that the ghost of Dr. Frank-N-Furter at the beginning of this video?

  • 8 people never been in a black dress except for their mothers...

  • These guys were (and still should be) gods! What have people come to in this day in age, with their pop and rap? I even hear country more than I hear this. Man, people are haters!

  • @litterfuzzer yes Bolan doing the intro

  • Surely thats Allan Clarke?

  • great music from the old days.

  • He looks like 'Luke' from General Hospital back in the early 'Laura' days.

  • oh shit yeah!! marc bolan introducing the hollies!!

  • Good stuff!

  • I've been trying to think how you could recreate this clip today. But I can't think of anyone who could replace Bolan or The Hollies!

  • Love this song but my baby looks a bit 'porky'. Still love you, Mark. Gxxx

  • I really loved everything they did

  • Are they even plugged?

  • Great song......that perm makes a Mullet look great......and what's with the light bulb pyramid???

  • Still the hardest lyrics to try and decipher of ANY song!

  • @zapdelivers lol i wonderd for 30 yrs what the heck he was saying until i seen the lyrics on here

  • Yes, that was Marc Bolan

  • I'm always fascinated by the vocal phrasing beginning at 2:32. It is such an amazing moment in rock vocal phrasing. Was it an accident? It has such a carefully plotted/ad lib feel to it. Rock-n-Roll!

  • @rickstill122 seemed to me it was an intentional re-phrasing

  • YESSIR! Tony Hicks is the shit!

  • Marc Bolan <3

  • Remember the Titans

  • 0:02 has to be one of the ugliest women I've ever seen.

  • Thanks! good song!

  • cut his balls off???

  • Bucking frilliant

  • Class

  • yes

  • Lamess audience ever, bunch of twats. I would of been yelling on top of my lungs going nuts, such a iconic song and band. One guy yells "Get it on" because he thought it was T-Rex's song Bang a Gong at first.

  • Im wondering how one turd praises the assless talent of soulja boi finds his way to some classy band like the hollies? And fuck hicks?I could say fuck the n-word,but not all blacks are morons like yourself. Also was wondering what all instruments ole soulja boi plays?Skin flute does not count either!Todays equipment in the studios can do anything to make something what it is not.If a person cant sing a lick, they fix it with there tech stuff. No talent in rap

  • @35hankypanky eh!

  • a pair o 45s open ma eyes

  • of course someone brings rap into this

  • Soulja boi indat hoe why me crank that soulja oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh fuck hicks

  • @Eloybeast3

i seriously hope you die....you worthless animal....you & the worthless garbage that shot you out of its festering hole....you are a poigniant appraisal of your whole contemporary social situation & should be exterminated like the fuckin roach you are......I hope you have a child that dies on you

  • @LizRichieBand haha wow my friend posted that i hate that song too and any one who does should die and do all the stuff you said

  • @LizRichieBand oh come on, that's extreme... being mean is no proof for being intelligent or progressiv at all :(

to wish someones death,.. whats wrong with you guys?^^ ok sometimes its understandable... :P

  • One of the greatest intro's to a song since Johnnie be Good!

  • My favorite band since I've first heard "Sorry Suzanne" ..... long time ago, isn't it?

  • The HOLLIES, they are "YYEEAAHH !!! ! Thousand x *****.

  • Thank you for posting a great video. I didn't know a live performance, let alone pro filmed existed.

Shame the vocal wasn't echo drenched.

  • to snowytone1. You are dead right! cookiemonster is so wrong. Before he posts aggressive inaccuracies, he should check out the facts in all the music record books. The Beatles had more number ones than the hollies, but the hollies had more top chart hits than the beatles. Fact! (guess how has'nt done his research?)

  • Great Mr Marc Bolan wow.....isn't from the 'Marc show'......it's from "supersonic" a 70's post glam show , marc was on quite a lot .....

  • To :- cookiemonster776 - get your facts right before you post comments like that - it is documented in many places that The Hollies DID have more hits (not necessarily number 1's) - thany any other group of the time. Read up on it pal - and educate yourself.

  • yes

  • Oh man that is some raunch. Amen.

  • estoy sta los cojones de shakiras, gagas y la madre las pario. Esto es musica joder

  • To whomever said that this band had more hits than the Beatles is fucking retarded the Beatles had literally more hits than any band ever and have done and accomplished more things in music and even more, than any band in the whole world and that is a known fact. Don't be fucking ignorant research before u say complete bullshit and look like a fool. Oh and btw the Beatles were the first and only band to ever have up to ten songs in top 1-10 charts in America that's all Beatles songs 1-10 no ban

  • Classic!

  • It's about time that The Hollies were given the recognition they deserve - more "hits" in the late 60's and 70's than any other group - including The Beatles - they definitely should be in the Hall Of Fame - come on Jimmy Saville - FIX IT FOR THEM

  • Classic Tele tone. Gotta love it.

  • I bet a lot of people had good sex to this song. ☺

  • marc bolan rules!!!

  • Allan Clarke aged so quickly compared to Tony Hicks who still looks like a teenager

  • @greazybastard Tony hicks is 66 and clark is 68 i agree tony still looks like a young one unbelievable

  • excellent song and great video. thumbs up for posting this, nicely done.

  • How much would we love to hear Mr. John Fogery do this one......

  • The Hollies super band! Allan ... the best!!!

  • I always thought it was Creedence :s . Excellent band, Excellent song!!!

  • The Hollies were the best....the ballads....the rock....even pop songs...they could do them all and always with perfection.....He ain't heavy...Dear Eloise...the air that I breath...Bus Stop.....and this Long cool woman.....they rocked.....

    thanks for posting this song.....

  • no better song...great color resolution

  • didnt see graham nash.

  • @MrGerbow - Graham left the Hollies in '68, replaced by Terry Sylvester. Allan Clarke left the band after recording this song (but before it was a hit). That left Sylvester to sing the song in concert until Allan returned a couple of years later. This clip appears to be after Allan came back (his "perm" years).

  • I'd always thought the lead singer didn't play.....more respect.

  • He looks like Alan Ford, feed em to the pigs erol! LOL

  • fuck. rap. this rocks. !!! :)

  • A must see, live performance and it's sounds great!

  • Best band ever

  • @TheWoodman55 : maybe, directly behind T.Rex ;-)

  • Bets band ever. Hope to see them soon again

  • right on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This s by no means the original, neither dose it sound like the original, no I can tell, I have an ear for the original, since I must of heard it many times over when it was a top 10 hit in '72. Anyway I do want to say that I'm surprized that I rather enjoyed it...moreso I tend to beleve than I did the original. Being that this by no means one of my favorite songs from 1972 it is saying alot for this live version of Tall Cool Woman. My fav Hollies song is Jennifer Eccles/Bus Stop. Thx4 postin

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ

This is the original... what the hell are you talking about?

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ Tall Cool Woman? It's called " Long Cool Woman ". And yes this is The Hollies. It was recorded in 1972,Alan left then came back and that line up of the band stayed for a while. This is the original. You are just a idiot.

  • wwooooooww es un mega clásiko me encanta esta canción fue de las primeras k me puso a rockear!!!

  • a great classic, this group never got as much merit as they should have.

  • @ocossa

Yeah. Being inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is nothing.

  • incredible vocals ...

  • The Master at the top of his game.

  • I was a kid in '73 or '74 when I first heard this song on my favorite radio station; it had just been released in the States. After the song finished, the DJ came on and announced in disbelief it was the Hollies and that he was going to play it again. Actually, he proceeded to play the song two more times.....in a row. I never heard a radio DJ do that with any other song, before or since.

  • The Hollies and Bolan! No way to top that!!

  • @123lovegun You need to shut your stupid mouth. If Bernie wants to sit down, he has every right to.

  • I have a lot of respect for this band, especially Allan Clarke. You Rock!

  • A real rock 'n roll riffs and Marc Bolan present this!!! Great time !...yeah!

  • one of the coolest songs ever...Rickenbacker is booming..

  • marc bolan!!!

  • 3:15 pyramid/purple/white... Very mirror-like surface...

  • Can someone please explain to me why Allan Clarke didn't play guitar more often? He was obviously pretty good at it.

  • I'd say it was for the same reason that Tony didn't sing lead too often despite having a lovely voice of his own...they each decided to stick with what they were best at...

  • Mark and Allan are having a sexy contest.

  • @citybeat60 It's a draw!

  • Yay! *This* is the video that Time Life sampled and dubbed in their "Legends" or "Ultimate 70's" infomercial, I forget which. I just know that I've had the other one forever, but I've been trying to find this one for even longer. Thank you!

  • Is that the late Marc Bolan making the introductions? Thank ever so much for posting this-I LOVE The Hollies and this is a real treat! More Hollies to love!♥

  • Allan Clarke you Rock!!!.,. I love you forever.xxxxxxx.., Lyndloo....

  • Me too and his chest ( tongue hanging out!!!!!)

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yummy!!!

  • Live, isn't it? They're having a blast!!

I love 3:00 onwards.... Allan, you're bloody brilliant!

    Thanks for the thrill.

  • V Good video. Great Hollies

  • Was that Marc Bolan introducing the band?

  • Yes that was Marc Bolan of TREX fame.

  • It was the gorgeous, totally irreplaceable Mr. Feld. RIP sweetpea.

  • @corkbender Yes....

  • @corkbender - yes, marc bolan

  • yep, and this clip was released 2 years before bolan was killed

  • @corkbender It sure the fuck looked like that M.F.

  • Very good!

Thanks for posting this jewel video.
