Mark,I can see your good intention and teaching us the best practices in prayer. However, as a brother in Him, I want you to know that Jesus probably could have prayed like the man at the Airport because Jesus himself was a Jew. Even if He never prayed in that rocking-posture fashion there is nothing that gives away that this man at the airport was trying to earn some type of favor or praise from anyone. Also, there are other cultures where Christians too pray differently than the casual America

Can i just say, perhaps those people don't just pray to be seen, perhaps they were only praying in their way, because of their devotion to God, in their own way - because that is how they know it. We don't have a right to judge them, just like they don't have a right to judge us. We can't say if its right/wrong.... we can just know what we believe in...

@90talisten So its irrational for me to believe in a man who existed on earth about 2,000 years ago that was recorded and backed up by eye witness accounts, secular historians, and archaeological evidence? Last time I remembered history isn't imaginary nor invisible. And because of Christ i can live my life in wisdom and truth and knowing there is an afterlife. You are right, it does not stand in the bible that catholics have to kill jews. But Hitler used religion as a excuse to kill jews and that's why I am against religion as an whole because many people get killed in the name of religion. If religion did not exist, man ypeople would not die. Twin Towers would still been here and many wars would have not been fought. Something for you to think about.
@90talisten wat r u trying to say bro every relgion ecepte the bible teaches salavation bu works every religon execpte the bible has pagan orgians ever religon ecepte the bible says jesus is not god and God is not the savior so u choose between the world and Jesus
@90talisten God is all there is friend. God is the reason you live, have breath in your lungs and God is reality.. Want to talk about it? Message me. It's really very simple.
what about the parable of the unjust judge, in which Jesus compares the Father to a judge who seemingly only grants a widow her request because he gets annoyed with her asking over and over again?
You know, just because preaching the truth sometimes may cause us to give offense, doesn't give you a license to give offense instead of just preaching the truth. Was it necessary to use Jesus' warning against hypocritical people to say that the Jewish man you saw in the airport "looked like a freak"? or to 'thank God you're on a different team'? Do you feel righteous while mocking that man in front of your own personal audience? I think you should take care to speak more in love.
I'm not jew, but this video is so offensive and stupid.
I bet a orthodox jew follows the bible way stricter then that preacher.
The bible itself is so contradictory. How would you follow a book that tells you to act one way on the begin of it and then a whole another way on the end of it?
If the bible books were consistent to each other jews and christians would act pretty much the same way.
Anyway, who cares?
No one here likes thinking or discussing about other point of views.
@peutricolor you say that, yet you have no basis of fact. This video is very radical and real, if you watch the whole video, you would actually understand.
@peutricolor he doesn't ridicule the other religion man, he says how silly it is. Repeating yourself over and over is not gonna make HIm here ya anymore than He already does. I understand that there's parts of the bible that not all Christians follow, important parts, some are unimportant. And some do follow them. You just have to realize what it means to be a Christian, you don't have to slaughter lambs anymore ya know?
Oh it's fine, you won't offend me in any way, don't bother.
Concerning to our discussion, you almost made my point:
Who says what in the Bible is important and what's not?
The church? The preacher? Me?
Somethings might sound outdated such as sacrificing animals and giving away crops in the name of God. But in a few years being married might be outdated. Maybe in 40 years being gay will be accepted and then those parts of the bible will suddenly become unimportant?
@peutricolor Well, no.You see that's not the point, the most important thing you can get from the bible is Jesus. After that,God starts to change you from the inside out. The New testament fulfilled the Old, and by sending His Son, we are all saved, but it's your choice. Now I have nothing against the Old Testament, in fact everyone should read it to get a better understanding of God, Israel, and Jews.I believe that all Christians should read it. But ultimately, only Jesus can save you,not the OT
Dear Pastor, Wow, Thank you for this great video. Its the best news I've heard in a while. I suffer terribbly from religious OCD aka "Scrupolusity". i hope & pray that i will never lose my faith, but I am defintely losing my hope. How do I live with hope & joy when it certainley looks like were in the last days, & America is being judged & what is to come with obama trying to divide Jersulaem-a fatal mistake, Thank you mike :( :(
Jesus often prayed all night. In my life i have found that i have the most strength and my life begins to change. When i pray a few hours a day. Let us remember that Prayer is communion with God. We should spend much time with God
Ok. I am a Christian. And...I have a problem with him making fun of the young Jewish man. That is NOT the attitude of Christ. Why make fun of him? That is his faith...whether or not he may be wrong, why make fun of him and by extension, Jews in general.
@barrypotter09 Some behavior should be "made fun of" if that means pointing out that it is wrong. Likewise someone who is behaving in a way that is contrary to The Word deserves to have the truth spoken about them. Driscoll didn't ridicule the individual but rather his behavior. And yes, Christ was very clear on many different occasions in condemning religious fakes, charlatans, and hypocrites. Clearly Mr. Driscoll doesn't have the standing that Christ did, but what he said here was correct.
@FSSPOblate the bible will help you stay on the path u cannot do this by yourself.the bible will give you an answer for any question you have about anything.
God is not a Santa Clause . . . we do not make a wish list . . . to give to God. Men pray to receive instructions from God. We do not know the correct solution to any of our problems. God knows all the answers. Children always try to manipulate their parents into giving them what they want. So . . . prayer is listening to the voice of God. . . . And doing his instructions.
@superflynapoleon You are right. The bible outlines many differentphysical posturesduring prayer and worship. Bibilically a couple I see are kneeling, sitting, standing, clapping, playing instruments, walking, dancing, playing instruments. Also God is less concerned with the stance of prayer though and more concerned with the stance of the heart. As a muslim you should know Jesus told us to pray in his name and made it clear to us that he is the perfect visible image of the perfect invisible God.
"Let us move on to maturity and not again laying the foundation of repentance from dead works"
So continual repentance is for babies, whereas occasional repentance is for those who have progressed to maturity.
With the way Calvinists talk about repentance you would think they would have nothing else to pray about, nor time to pray about, considering how impure they must think they are and how impure they must really be given their inability to overcome Satan.
@mozzrt When that man said one HAD to speak in tongues to have the Holy Spirit I kind of stopped listening, as right as some of the things he has said can be.
He also has nothing to say about corporate prayer, which is what the body subsists on and is the bread and butter of the body of Christ.....Being by yourself is NOT an option; we are to seek fellowship.
@Icannottolerateit what about when Jesus left everyone to be alone to pray? And when he went and fasted in the wilderness by himself? There is a time for being by yourself, alone personal time with the Lord to grow yourself. I do also realize that we are to seek fellowship, which also needs to happen, but alone time is necessary to your own personal spiritual growth.
@Icannottolerateit in the scripture you are reffering to, the man says thanks that i'm not a sinner unlike that person. mark isnt saying thanks i'm not a sinner, just thanks that I don't have to look foolish and obsess over religious acts. whole different spirit.
@Hotnuttt coming from the people that think priests can take away your sins forever.ahah and we dont need the Catholic church to tell us about the Bible when all we need is the Bible and Matt. 16:13-18 has absolutely nothing to do with the papacy teaching from the chair of Peter. we should be teaching from the BIble and the words of Christ. I am pretty sure that Jesus's teachings should come before those of Peter
sorry bout the beginning of the last response..i wasnt thinking before i put that down. plz forgive me if i offended you are hurt u in anyway..like i said i wasnt thinking
@Sspeedyme The fact that the WORD is Jesus himself and not the Bible should be enough for people to understand that they put too much weight on reading the Bible and not enough weight on praying.
Prayer should take up far more of our time than reading, and knowing most of the mysteries in the Bible can happen fairly quickly in the Christian walk and all are only truly revealed through prayer and the Holy Spirit.
@blackk141 It has. It even has already designed the questions for you... don't ask the wrong ones, though. It might change your youtube channel forever.
Repentance everyday is dishonoring to the relationship of Christ.Christ died for all my sin past, present, and future.Constant repentance is rebuked in Heb 6:1,2 Devotion cannot be enjoyed in constant repentance.Christ died for freedom not bondage to sin and repentance, it sounds good to repent all the time but it is not.Christ is NOT a minister of sin Galations 2:7-17
@polopowers1 Well, in the Book of Hebrew, Paul was writing to believers who were having second thoughts about their decision to leave Judaism to become Christians. Repentance is turning away from your sin so we could live holy lives as Jesus lived, and that's not a once in a life time event. For us to become more like Jesus it takes a life time of repentance.Remember, the evidence that we are truly saved and have truly repented, is that we are continuing and seeking to be more like Jesus Christ.
@xWhiteLightning It is a disgrace for a believer to be in CONSTANT repentance.Though it may be needed it is not what Christ is achieving He is not a minister of sin.The evidence that we are really truly saved is constant devtion not constant repentance.
@polopowers1 Ok - I'm not quite sure what you mean. May you briefly explain what you mean by 'minister of sin'. Also, I don't think you understand what repentance is. Repentance is turning away from sin and seeking/trying to become like Jesus Christ(which is perfection). Repentance is in fact a devotion to Christ, because that is who all Christians want to be like. Now, you might not understand the difference between 'asking for forgiveness' and 'repentance', they are not the same thing.
@xWhiteLightning.Christ is not repenting relationship.I am to be renewed in my mind Rom 12 Repentance is not an ideal relationship it is a immature one.Christ is not a minister of sin. Gal 2 is for those who understand works do not validate the cross.Repentance keeps from true affection and victory. He who is concentrating on sin will sin.Constant changing of mind about sin means you are not resting in Atonement for victory.Sin is not your problem when redeemed it is staying devoted to the Word
talking to dad? i believed when i pray i am worshipping God and asking forgiveness and mercy.. this guy makes it as if we just have a chat with our creator without worshipping him andd repenting.
per your own words..."god knows what you need before you ask him" that being the case, I assume that you believe that god is all knowing and powerful.
if the above is also true....then that means that god knows now, weather you will go to heaven or hell.
if that is also true, that also means that god knew that before you were born, weather you were going to hell or heaven.
if that is true, then ..how do we have a loving god when he knows that before you are born, you will spend eternity in hell?
@destin325 well all praise be to the mighty God.. what you have said made perfect sense to ask, i thought about it and decided worshipping God is what i must do, because if there isnt a God like many non-believers say, i would have still worshipped and died, oh well, but if there is a God and i didnt worship him?
"but if if there is a god and i didnt worship him"
i implore you to ensure that you are worshiping god because of the relationship you have NOT for the sake of....better to do and be saved, not and burned. ..the burden of hell is a tactic many untruthful Christians use to SCARE people (HELL IS HOT!!!) into believing. ..if you are going to believe, then do so but know why. btw, if you really want to reinforce your faith or belief, study atheist..the good arguments come from them.
@destin325 reinforcing my faith not, i want to strengthen my faith, thats why i watch dis video, lol i truly believe there is a creator of this whole matter, therefore i cannot look into atheism because it just does not apply to my desires
@destin325 i also believe (ref to your first comment) that yes God is an almighty all knowing endless God, and i believe that he knows our futures and outcomes, that is why i think we shoiulkd all give praise to him because its a risk i am not willing to take, i mean, would you dare to question his judgements? if you were to believe and love and serve him, that i feel the rewards are great as written in the bible, Jesus has given me and you a chance, accept him into your life brother
i loev how chrsitians and jews and muslims always tak about how different they are from one another and condemn one another...ridiculous. truth s you all are full of it.
basically, praying is talking to your heavenly dad. The earthly dad is supposed to be like the heavenly dad, but he usually fails to do so, so you might feel distant from both dad .
Jesus told Peter(Simon) that he would deny him and Satan wants to sift him.
Jesus prayed not that Peter would not go through this challange but that he would gain strenght from the challanged.
Pray asking God to guide you on the path god has chosen for your life. Pray that God will give you strength to walk that path however hard it may become. So that at the end the journey youcome to see and know him.
Luk 22:31-34 "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers." Peter said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death." Jesus said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you deny three times that you know me."
Yep. Most of my prayers, are casual conversations, either aloud (whisper) or saying it in my head, you can hear what you think right? Isn't that neat! Anyways, I pray for strength to get through the day, keep my mouth and attitude clean, and for the Lord to show me something new, show me what his will is and what he would like me to do. That's just some of what I pray for...daily.
One mitigating circumstance here - people who pray in an airport are not going to impress many people in this day and age. I agree that pomposity is not a desirable ingredient of prayer. Donald James Parker Author of More Than Dust in the Wind
15 minutes is a long time for me- some people I know would not say that. I just don't pray for that long- my attention span isn't that long. My wife says she can pray for hours.
Well I think God heard you the first time, and if your truly sorry and ask for forgiveness, then he forgives you, I think I saw in the bible when I was reading that he forgets our sins.......if God forgot about it, then you forget about it!
That means we can confess our sin, ask for forgiveness, repent and be reconciled to God. There is no need to continually confess and repent of the same sin. (unless of course you are sinning habitually) in which case I would recommend getting spiritual guidance/accountability. Remember, the great thing about Jesus, when we confess our sin, we only need to do it once and "He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Don't let Satan steal your joy by him
@littleredbirdy Well we do not need to waste time, it is not something everyone does nor it is something we cannot be saved from.
We are called to defeat Satan and come out of the wilderness a changed person, not be constantly battered by Satan and left in the wilderness until our death. We are supposed to cross the Jordan and start actually pulling down strongholds! We cannot do that if we are constantly being mislead by Satan, even if it is in ignorance.
TrueHybrid~ I wouldn't use the word "wrong." I would use the phrase, "counter-productive." Yes, we are sinners and it is good to ask for forgiveness when we have sinned against our heavenly father. But, the great thing about knowing Jesus is knowing the price he payed for that sin. So, if the bulk of your prayer time is spent in disappointment and shame for what you have done, that is not what God wants. Remember, Christ came and died to forgive us of ALL sin, past, present and future.
I like this pastor...he is not show off and "Televangical" he is just plain and simple. Just like the word. I like the way he outlined the major differences with Christians (followers of Christ) and Religious folk. LOL...Religious folks today are equivilant to the Scribes and Pharaseeese of the past in the bible.
i disagree with a few things, i follow islam, god is the only one u pray for privately and publicly but with the Correct surrounding!!! emm and people are different with different faiths.... stay safe
we dont follow the Islamic Faith, we follow Jesus Christ the son of God. We also pray with other people as well as private. What Jesus said here was that religious people pray so people will see them and think that they are good and devouted...which is ultimately hypocrital...you pray in love to God, not to show off. We christians have a relationship with God as fathers and son not as formality...he is our God, our king, our father, as servants and as his friends.
Hes just giving an example of what he saw at the airport, and I dont care if hes right or wrong is not up to us to judge him

do not be like "them". them = hypocrites.
hypocrites=people who want to be seen by people as religious and thus do everything a religious person would but only in public.
religious person=one who practices his/her religion both in public and alone

If religion did not exist, man ypeople would not die. Twin Towers would still been here and many wars would have not been fought. Something for you to think about.

No one here likes thinking or discussing about other point of views.
peutricolor 7 months ago
@peutricolor you say that, yet you have no basis of fact. This video is very radical and real, if you watch the whole video, you would actually understand.

@nathanlovesjesus
I did watch the whole video.
It's offensive the way he ridiculizes other's religion.
And what do you mean by saying that I don't have basis of fact?
I read so many parts of the bible that no christians follows, and them, some other's are followed with determination?
Why is that?
Why not follow the old testament too?
Stop beign a hypocrite.
peutricolor 7 months ago
@peutricolor he doesn't ridicule the other religion man, he says how silly it is. Repeating yourself over and over is not gonna make HIm here ya anymore than He already does. I understand that there's parts of the bible that not all Christians follow, important parts, some are unimportant. And some do follow them. You just have to realize what it means to be a Christian, you don't have to slaughter lambs anymore ya know?
Sorry if I've offended you or angered you.
nathanlovesjesus 7 months ago
@nathanlovesjesus
Maybe in 40 years being gay will be accepted and then those parts of the bible will suddenly become unimportant?
peutricolor 7 months ago
@peutricolor Well, no.You see that's not the point, the most important thing you can get from the bible is Jesus. After that,God starts to change you from the inside out. The New testament fulfilled the Old, and by sending His Son, we are all saved, but it's your choice. Now I have nothing against the Old Testament, in fact everyone should read it to get a better understanding of God, Israel, and Jews.I believe that all Christians should read it. But ultimately, only Jesus can save you,not the OT

Ok. I am a Christian. And...I have a problem with him making fun of the young Jewish man. That is NOT the attitude of Christ. Why make fun of him? That is his faith...whether or not he may be wrong, why make fun of him and by extension, Jews in general.
barrypotter09 11 months ago 2
@barrypotter09 Some behavior should be "made fun of" if that means pointing out that it is wrong. Likewise someone who is behaving in a way that is contrary to The Word deserves to have the truth spoken about them. Driscoll didn't ridicule the individual but rather his behavior. And yes, Christ was very clear on many different occasions in condemning religious fakes, charlatans, and hypocrites. Clearly Mr. Driscoll doesn't have the standing that Christ did, but what he said here was correct.

"And he (Elijah) cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees."-(1 KINGS 18:42).
"And they (Moses and Aaron) fell upon their faces..."-(NUMBERS 20:6).

superflynapoleon 1 year ago
@superflynapoleon You are right. The bible outlines many differentphysical posturesduring prayer and worship. Bibilically a couple I see are kneeling, sitting, standing, clapping, playing instruments, walking, dancing, playing instruments. Also God is less concerned with the stance of prayer though and more concerned with the stance of the heart. As a muslim you should know Jesus told us to pray in his name and made it clear to us that he is the perfect visible image of the perfect invisible God.

By the way....

Icannottolerateit 1 year ago
@Icannottolerateit what about when Jesus left everyone to be alone to pray? And when he went and fasted in the wilderness by himself? There is a time for being by yourself, alone personal time with the Lord to grow yourself. I do also realize that we are to seek fellowship, which also needs to happen, but alone time is necessary to your own personal spiritual growth.

Repentance everyday is dishonoring to the relationship of Christ.Christ died for all my sin past, present, and future.Constant repentance is rebuked in Heb 6:1,2 Devotion cannot be enjoyed in constant repentance.Christ died for freedom not bondage to sin and repentance, it sounds good to repent all the time but it is not.Christ is NOT a minister of sin Galations 2:7-17
polopowers1 1 year ago
@polopowers1 Well, in the Book of Hebrew, Paul was writing to believers who were having second thoughts about their decision to leave Judaism to become Christians. Repentance is turning away from your sin so we could live holy lives as Jesus lived, and that's not a once in a life time event. For us to become more like Jesus it takes a life time of repentance.Remember, the evidence that we are truly saved and have truly repented, is that we are continuing and seeking to be more like Jesus Christ.
xWhiteLightning 1 year ago
@xWhiteLightning It is a disgrace for a believer to be in CONSTANT repentance.Though it may be needed it is not what Christ is achieving He is not a minister of sin.The evidence that we are really truly saved is constant devtion not constant repentance.
polopowers1 1 year ago
@polopowers1 Ok - I'm not quite sure what you mean. May you briefly explain what you mean by 'minister of sin'. Also, I don't think you understand what repentance is. Repentance is turning away from sin and seeking/trying to become like Jesus Christ(which is perfection). Repentance is in fact a devotion to Christ, because that is who all Christians want to be like. Now, you might not understand the difference between 'asking for forgiveness' and 'repentance', they are not the same thing.
xWhiteLightning 1 year ago
@xWhiteLightning.Christ is not repenting relationship.I am to be renewed in my mind Rom 12 Repentance is not an ideal relationship it is a immature one.Christ is not a minister of sin. Gal 2 is for those who understand works do not validate the cross.Repentance keeps from true affection and victory. He who is concentrating on sin will sin.Constant changing of mind about sin means you are not resting in Atonement for victory.Sin is not your problem when redeemed it is staying devoted to the Word

talking to dad? i believed when i pray i am worshipping God and asking forgiveness and mercy.. this guy makes it as if we just have a chat with our creator without worshipping him andd repenting.
kodzillah 1 year ago
per your own words..."god knows what you need before you ask him" that being the case, I assume that you believe that god is all knowing and powerful.
if the above is also true....then that means that god knows now, weather you will go to heaven or hell.
if that is also true, that also means that god knew that before you were born, weather you were going to hell or heaven.
if that is true, then ..how do we have a loving god when he knows that before you are born, you will spend eternity in hell?
destin325 1 year ago
@destin325 well all praise be to the mighty God.. what you have said made perfect sense to ask, i thought about it and decided worshipping God is what i must do, because if there isnt a God like many non-believers say, i would have still worshipped and died, oh well, but if there is a God and i didnt worship him?
kodzillah 1 year ago
@kodzillah

Sorry but this Prayer is NOT found in scripture ANYWHERE... and saying it many times means NOTHING...

You "salute" mary???
Jesus is salvation... END OF STORY...

Praying?
We can look and see how Christ prayed.
ScottDaMoose 2 years ago
Luk 22:31-34 "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers." Peter said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death." Jesus said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you deny three times that you know me."
ScottDaMoose 2 years ago
That's just some of what I pray for...daily.

attempting to convince you that you are not good enough, or that your sin is not forgiven. Hope this helps. God bless.
bizzybrit 3 years ago
That means we can confess our sin, ask for forgiveness, repent and be reconciled to God. There is no need to continually confess and repent of the same sin. (unless of course you are sinning habitually) in which case I would recommend getting spiritual guidance/accountability. Remember, the great thing about Jesus, when we confess our sin, we only need to do it once and "He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Don't let Satan steal your joy by him
bizzybrit 3 years ago 6
Repentance is something that must be done everyday, because most of the real Christians sins are done in ignorance. (like wasting time)
littleredbirdy 3 years ago 9
@littleredbirdy Well we do not need to waste time, it is not something everyone does nor it is something we cannot be saved from.
We are called to defeat Satan and come out of the wilderness a changed person, not be constantly battered by Satan and left in the wilderness until our death. We are supposed to cross the Jordan and start actually pulling down strongholds! We cannot do that if we are constantly being mislead by Satan, even if it is in ignorance.
Icannottolerateit 1 year ago
@littleredbirdy what about when you waste time because of Depression?
gnawaserge 1 year ago
TrueHybrid~ I wouldn't use the word "wrong." I would use the phrase, "counter-productive." Yes, we are sinners and it is good to ask for forgiveness when we have sinned against our heavenly father. But, the great thing about knowing Jesus is knowing the price he payed for that sin. So, if the bulk of your prayer time is spent in disappointment and shame for what you have done, that is not what God wants. Remember, Christ came and died to forgive us of ALL sin, past, present and future.

we dont follow the Islamic Faith, we follow Jesus Christ the son of God.
