not really, you can revive people but the time it takes goes up the more often it happens to the point that it just becomes unviable to actually revive player and not to mention, in order to revive you have to stand still for however many seconds, thats not a good things in GW2, you want to be moving.

also, this was from alpha and difficulty was tuned down so that people demoing the game could actually play and not need to have much skill.

@chickyarnold What I don't like about 75% of the GW videos is people seem to be more concerned about 'beating' WoW rather than just playing this game because it's good. I agree, it looks more fun than WoW, however I can't help but sense some kind of bitterness towards WoW from loads of GW players; maybe they don't have credit cards, and felt like they were barred from an exclusive and popular party or something. I don't play WoW, so I am only flaming ridiculousness. Be insightful.

@PandoSwift It's probably more likely that people just like to conduct conflict and like to think that any game that may be more successful then WoW becomes WoW's enemy and therefore in being more successful has 'destroyed' it and won over WoW and in hindsight many will think that is what the game was designed to do. Also I think most people just can't understand things that standalone and need to relate them to something else so its almost inevitable but yes it is pretty ridiculous.

@RayRai8262 You haven't played it yet so do not prejudge. That being said, the instanced raid content was merely acceptable. In this game, GW2, the raid content was shifted out into the world in the form of Elite events. They're similar to world bosses in WoW only in perhaps base concept. The Elite events will scale up to a 100 people, there are more videos that really show this off. The dragon is one part of it, but the elite events start off with a chain of events.

@YesImAnAwesomeTroll No you can't, I've been chased by an arrow across all of Northrend on my flying mount and various other spells that shouldn't have hit me. If the attack was successfully activated it'll hit your character no matter what unless it happens to be registered as a dodge or w/e. Melee attacks can hit people 10+ feet away as long as the individual was in range for the split second it was activated.

The overview diagram is very reminiscent of Ironforge. Neither good nor bad...just making an observation (no trolls). I am really curious how they're going to pull off this custom story element, unless they start phasing people. Which means you could be playing with someone, and then they suddenly disappear and phase into their game decision, and you phase into yours. Aesthetically, it would be interesting...on a collaborative game play aspect, that would be annoying. But still pretty cool!

@MrLigoton the pvp seems to be pretty solid, there is competitve, 5-player pvp where everyone gets set to the same item level to make win or lose depeing only on skill and world pvp (which is kinda like the fun, casual pvp) where 3 servers get to fight each other, taking over strongholds and bases, there's no limit on how many people can join those battles

The game is expected to go into Closed Beta this YEAR, that's closed as in not open to the public. After that there will be an open beta, hopefully at the end of 2011. After the open beta the game will be fixed up and released.

We're looking at a early to mid-spring release. No sooner. And that's without any mayor bugs that need to be fixed.

Off-Hand: Shield, Warhorn, Sword, Axe or Mace

Both Hands: Greatsword, Hammer, Longbow or Rifle.
