This is one of the few pro body builders who seem to go through a full range of movement when reppin'. I've only watched a few of Johnnie Jackson's video's however I've just finished watching Ronnie Coleman perform a seated shoulder press and he doesn't get anywhere near to a full range of movement like this. I'm sure there is good reason behind this but I've never understood why a lot of pro body builders avoid this. I know its not good to lock out but some don't even get close to that.
what i wanna know is how the fuck do you flex your chest on the eccentric phase, i guess with a bigger chest you can but i can only really feel my chest flex when i do crossovers
I have really trouble to get heavy dumbells in the right trainingposition (incline or flat), because my triceps and forearms arent very strong by now....so its hard to bring them up before I start. I have no trainingpartner.
great strength, n very good form too. went all the way down, touched the chest n right back up, great form. unlike people who cant even bring it down couple inches.
does any1 think that the angle is abit too high ? i never go that high because i would be using my front delts abit too much, im just curious peeps no hate mail please lol
i mean can u honestley say this guy is unproportionate i mean this guy makes 250 thousand a year plus tell people that pay for him to work out that u dont no shit man.johnny is a fucking beast i think he is verry over looked .like alot of people over look evan centopani that guy in a few years will be mr.o for sure so stop hateing on this guy he is a fucking beast and his back is unbeleavable.love those traps.
@bobmths He is not overlooked man.He just doesnt have big legs. His upper body may be better than some pros in the olympia but his legs are small if you compare them to his body.(I am not saying that i have bigger legs or that his legs are skinny. Its just that they dont fit with his upperbody.)
@Darkstar2520 it doesn't "have" to be any particular angle. he looks like he's doin a 45 degree angle here. bench press exercises work your chest on a plane of motion: the more upright the angle, the more stress will be put on your upper pecs and anterior delts. most people spend way too much time on flat benching and can gain some strength that way, but not good symmetry like pro bodybuilders have.
@Darkstar2520 I'd say around 30 degrees. Too much lower and you're crossing into the flat bench region; any higher and it becomes more of a shoulder press.
@Darkstar2520 the best angle for the upper chest section is 45 degrees. any degree higher works your delts. any degree lower then 45 is a lower part of the chest section.
light weight my ass...

what degree does the bench have to be at?
Darkstar2520 2 years ago 3
The higher the degree the more the shoulder is activated. The lower the more the chest is activated.
