I paused this lots of times to study some of the faces. It is an illusion of course, but by picking a face in the crowd and studying it over a few consequtive freeze frames, it is like bringing that person back into the living world for a few moments.
Just imagine – It is highly likely that most of these workers became cannon fodder in the 1914 -18 war.

My Great Grandfather David Mason lived in Elswick at this time. He was a Tailor and I bet at least a few people on this film are wearing his suits!!
