Making it look like you are falling through the sky like in the new Star Trek movie was something that BFX did, and they did that with a mirror, leaf blowers, and a smoke machine. That's a special affect and they didn't use any computers to make it.

OK the lighting rigs has potential and I can make it lighter, less and make it so you can transport it. Overkill for the PVC pipe size.. I have the material just not the time to build it. ALso the rig can double as a portable green screen stage. One other pointer if your going tomake a lighting rig use reveal light bulbs or hologens the incondescent bulbs dont do a thing.

Seeing as most film maker's on YouTube, and the internet in general, are hobbyists, getting a gas blowback airsoft gun is an extravagant luxury we can't afford.

A lot of us are relegated to plastic dollar store guns and open-source software.

If it cost's more than $15, isn't in walking distance and doesn't have multiple uses, it's not a solution.

Both of the Your FX Montages were awesome! The first one just re-enforces my plans for buying Adobe video editing software - like CS5 and After-Effects! The second segment looks like a really cool and simple lighting set-up and it helps that I'm already familiar with PVC pipes and the primer/glue used to connect and hold the pipes together. Neat!
