First time that i have ever took the time to say that I disliked a video! And it's only because although there was a visual (using paper) ,you really needed a great imagination to see the big picture. it would have made more sense to the viewers ,to at least see the actual tutu that was made end of the tutorial. Sorry
I made one like this and it worked perfectly! I used 5 yards of tulle and 22" of 1" wide elastic. I folded it lengthwise enough to wind up being 8 layers. Fit our little 4-year-old friend perfectly, and took less than 1 hour and less than $8 to make! Thanks for such an awesome tutorial!
Fantastic!!! Thank you so much:) It only took me 15 minutes to make and my niece's love them. They cost like $20 each in stores and I made two for $5!!!
Excellent! Watched five . Ths is the tututorial I will recommend to the brightest. Others might be better off doing that hand-tie -strips-to-a-ribbon- until-your-fingers-bleed thing.
I guess the tutu will be full enough to where it would hide the seam in the back. Just like the no-sew tutus . . . the ones where you tie the strips on the elastic waistband.
Wow! Very easy and understandable instructions. I love the fact that it's not a bunch of little strips that have to be tied on, like other videos I've seen. Those kind tangle way too easily! I can't wait to try this!! Thank you :o)

That's exactly the way I had in mind for my tutu. Will start this afternoon - I hope it will work out.

: ) love tutus

But doesn't this leave the back of the tutu wide open? Did you sew a seam down the back?
kristinasmith 2 years ago
Yeah, I have the same question. i guess you can wear a skirt or pair of pants underneath the tutu if that's your style.
missanisette 2 years ago
She does the say to sew the seam down the back together so it's closed.

hollicrombiemuchx18 3 years ago
yup! you could do it with ribbon. Instead of using elastic just use ribbon.

but.. this way it won't get poofy, or will it?
HirikiW 3 years ago
It gets REALLY poofy. Just depends on how long your elastic is and how much you *gather* it.

OMG!!! Thank you so much!
I looked everywhere for a decent tutu with the colors that I wanted and it was incredible frustrating.
It's a lot simpler to just make it yourself...
Do you by any chance know how much tulle costs?
