Carmack? created the FPS genre,and always been in the lead of graphic for over 10 years, however lately EPic Games and Crytech has taken that place,but still. And yes I know Gates was just "joking".

Epic and Crytech aren't that high tech. The new tech from ID is gona have megatextures (with other stuff) which means totaly new detail level. On high end this tech is gonna look astoundinly detailed and will make UT3 engine look like Quake 3 engine looks today. And they are writing the code for ID tech 6 which will look literaly fotorealistic.

Well, lets be fair here? UE 3.0 also works on pc's and if you crank that resolution up with highest textures GoW 2 would look better then KZ2, with that said Guerilla games are certainly in the top, but thats just one game. they dont have a history of being in the top.

I do not imply that the Playstation 3 is an inferior consol. On the contrary, I believe that it isi the more capable of the two. Does Killzone 2 have, 'Better" graphics than GOW2? That's not a question with a solid answer. The graphics and art styles are entirely different. They both have their ups and downs, on the whole, I have to side with an internet gaming magazine versus some youtube fanboy I've never even met. I will acknowledge, however, that this is not a question that has an ans.

OIh my god don't even ask me to start looking for it, it'll take me days, I do believe it was Gamespot though. But, as I was saying, the graphics are difference in both their presentation and everything else. While the ps3 IS the more powerful of the two systems, not by much, and the 360 is more capable of some things because ps3 does I think 256 minus 98 video RAM and Microsoft does 512 minus 32 unified, as proven by Uncharted 2, the Cell processor while not living up to hype can certainly...

Do some surprising things. Hell, I still remember when the ps3 was announced with NO GiPU or dedicated Video RAM and TWO Cell processors, but they cut that idea short quite early because of physics issues and development issues. GOW 2 vs. Killzone 2 is a question of asthetics, therfore, a subjective questiion, like I was saying, no definite answer, they are DIFFERENT. I think Killzone 2 should be compared to MW, which looks better on the 360 than Killzone 2 on the ps3. XD

I met John Carmack at the 2000 GDC where he won an award for community contribution for the Quake 3 engine. He was a really nice guy!  I even got a picture of me with him. Good times!

BUT, you get a thumbs up, because Carmack's engine allowed an ordinary PC to play games, while the other needed a mega-computer, Carmack made FPS efficient. John Carmack FTW!! 2:30 - that code is from the original quake engine, I think it was written by micheal abrash, not carmack.

michael abrash only did low level assembler optimizations to the engine, the actual engine was made by carmack.
