@ZeTugz I'm actually a drummer. Been playing 11 years. Been in a deathcore band 7 years, so I know a thing or two. I don't think he used triggers at all. He sampled a perfect bass drum hit and digitally placed them perfectly. I can double bass extremely fast and pretty solid too, but its a fact that all drummers are edited in a studio. Leche says he doesn't use TRIGGERS. Never said it wasn't manipulated with studio magic using a single perfect bass drum sample.

@ZeTugz LOL Its for the good of the recording. So long as you can pull it off live, theres no harm in that. I was completely against it when my band recorded our album, but the producers talked me into it (and no not because my bass drum skill suck), but because every drummer gets edited anyways, so why not make it as perfect sounding as possible? A trigger is a sample, but you can still go off time between notes, since its still you playing, so it's a little different.

@ZeTugz I wouldn't call it cheating unless you made a drummer who was truly terrible live sound amazing on a recording. No matter how good you are, we are not robots and we can still be just the TINIEST bit off time, but it makes a HUGE difference once you hear it done perfectly. When I recorded my tracks, I did play every bass drum note, but they REPLACED every note with a sample of a perfect bass drum hit, just so it sounds even MORE perfect.

@rockerdude0910 a trigger isn't a sound, so no you don't. a trigger is a device that send an electronic pulse to a drum module which relays a sample where the hit should be. you can change this to be any kind of sound you want, even a fart. so technically, he could have hit the bass drum once, sampled that hit and triggered it. which obviously this is quantized and sampled regardless if it doesn't sound like a classic 'clicky' death metal kick.

The trigger takes an electronic impulse per hit and sends it to the module. The module converts it into a sound. The module then outputs a sound when connected to a speaker. Do some fucking research before you go talk shit. A trigger works identically to an electronic drumset, except the trigger is BUILT IN to the pad.
