A disc jockey (also known as DJ or deejay) is a person who selects and plays recorded music.

A musician is a person who performs or writes music.

The facts that you can put a band aid or give cpr doesn't mean you are a doctor, so no DJ will NEVER be a musician.

Normally I would agree with you but in Victor's case it really is kind of a beat symphony. He creates the beats, adds them to samples (that rarely include music) and writes a lot of the music himself. Since you are watching this I assume you know what he does. I have a huge attitude about DJs (being a musician myself) but Victor is the exception that proves the rule.

Hi, I just read your comment, and let me tell you: the Dj Term was change a years ago, Now Dj is call to a person who makes music and perform, before the Dj only play records in a turntable jeje, I was a Dj in 80's and Now I'm Dj'n producer and apart I'm a Doctor and not only put band aids, I give health to the people, and makes music, can you look in my channel, most of the music in there is of my own production, Victor Calderone is a PROFESSIONAL Dj'n producer.

knowledge?? so a person who plays/creates music using an instrument, guitar, drums, bass, etc., is a musician correct? So when a person just uses a diff. form of instrument.( cdj's, turntables, etc.) does that not make him a musician also?? @infinitestylz Having worked in both mediums, as a musician and DJ, I can confidently say they're not really the same thing. There are some excellent DJs out there - Calderone being one of them. But that does not make him a musician, unless he is also proficient at a musical instrument. Not a technical piece of equipment.
