hate people who say darts isnt a sport, i play shit loads of sports and am very good at them, i played county cricket and football when i broke my leg at 17, An all i can say is that there is not much things harder in sport than hitting a nine darter in darts, i seen people moan about them been fat, wtf is that excuse, just like people saying a weightlifter is muscley, this sport takes so much dedication an skill its unbelivable. yep the PDC use a board called the Eclipse Pro where the wires are smaller making more room for trebles and doubles.That has a large part to do with the better dart averages in PDC

That 9 darter might well have been against me as Martin Phillips just beat me in an earlier round in which missed doubles cost me the match but "Fair Play" Martin is an absolute Gentleman who said to me after our match "You gave me a cracking game". Darts is now making it big time on TV. I for one hope that the international matches make it on to TV so that the fans can decide for themselves. I personally know several players who have played for England and know how much it meant to each of them.

PDC is better in terms of prize money. However, the PDC do not seem to have any sort of system for encouraging the youth to play. The BDO encourages younger players through the youth teams of the county system. One thing to remember is that just about all of the British players now playing in the PDC started off with the BDO through the county system.

John Walton, Andy Fordham & Martin Adams have remained loyal to the BDO which has also given them the opportunity to play for their national team
