Sandy Bridge is a great run for intel, the 2500k/2600k are great budget chips.

You could have a 3 GHz CPU and a 7 GHz CPU both running a game, the 3 GHz could pull it off better if it was made for gaming. Stick with the Phenom II series and you should get great gaming performance. Like I said; Intel CPU, Intel Power.

Ever since the C2D and C2Q days, intel has been on top. I used to be a AMD ban, but they fell behind.

Intel wins in everything. I'm not being a fanboy or anything, but thats just how it is. If AMD released a super amazing chip that beats out a 2600k clock for clock, I would grab it.

The truth is, AMD is really only alive because of its server and new fusion chips.

The CPU may have a little bit to do with how good your GPU performs but your motherboard really decides that. You are right about the server line of Opterons but the fusion chips are a load of shit. The Intel chips used were later models on newer motherboards with overheat protection. Of course the older chips without overheat protection failed. I can run a Pentium MMX with no fan until it fails, too. I guess that means all Intel chips are shit, right?
