  • Putoooo.... no puede ser tan buenoo...

  • nobody used this instrument this way,, it's not about the notes and the difficulty,, it's about the brain who made this music

  • Es Dios.

  • uno de los tantos dioses, pero si, es un dios.

  • O.O InCrEiBlE!!! que hombre mas talentosoooo!!!!genio...no... es un iluminadooooo!!!! Dios que talento!!!

  • Excelente! Lo Amo

  • that is amazing stuff. how can a person do that. wow

  • is he aggressive? dont joke with him today

  • Nah, he is really pacific =)

But he breaks a bow almost every time he plays this song xD

  • He was really agressive, I can tell you.

At the end of the show he kicked the microphone holder and it went straight to a girl's head in the first row of the public...

It was a very bad point for a very good show.

Maybe he had a bad day, who knows...

  • you should put that on youtube =)

  • though this is a short video ohh i love, i adOre! the feeling in this one, i think i hadn't watched other video with that feeling coming from him and from the public before this one!

  • J'adore ce morceau! Il en pert ses craint c'est incroyable!

  • wow he's so good! lol there were almost no more hairs on his bow left. Thats putting feeling :)

  • you are right.

  • I don't know what did you mean. I love whole piece. I do not have any problem.

My words was for Retaw, as he;she said the audience enojyed (mainly) damaged bow.

    But none discussion is nonsense.

  • And recently Yann has been playing rock. You are (I talk to everyone who attacks him) irritating when he is not quite classical with his classical tracks. He doesn't adapt in your dear schemes, so please leave him alone. Don't act wiser than you are in fact.

  • No. The started enjoying the climax of Sur le fil. If you haven't seen that you are insensible. Rational comments are for renaissance moderation that you can find in a philharmonic.

His moods on the stage turn from trance to warmhth and common joy. He is more natural and human than other Artists. I saw him 1-2 metres from myself so I know that.

  • We were enjoying from the very first note of the concert. This song was almost at the end of the show and believe me, the place was very big and you can see the bow's strings breaking on the video because I was on the first row. From 20 metres you couldn't appreciate that detail so I suppose people were enjoying the music, the energy of this piece.

  • It seams to me that the audience starts enjoying it when his bow starts falling apart... perhaps a similar effect to when a guitarist starts smashing a guitar on stage. There's certainly a vibe and an atmosphere created but it doesn't do anything for me.

  • As far as I know, Yann Tiersen won a few 'classical' prizes when he was younger by using violin and also with piano. So maybe he is not the best in the world but that s already quite impressive

  • True passion from heart, if you're able to realize. He's of course not a classical violinist, it's stupid to compare. HE IS A TRUE COMPOSER LIVING IN THIS CENTURY. Not living with paganini nor heifetz

  • I love his posture and his style of moving. As someone's said 'gimmicks'.

  • :O

  • come on! if you play Yann's music by using classical style with its rules whatsoever, you'll feel that something's missing. It's the spirit, dude!!! His "gimmicks" is needed for emphasizing the spirit and power!!!

  • Music is supposed to be an universal language, you should be able to go to a small village in africa and still getting the same effect with your music. Yann Tiersen's music is timeless and universal, any culture, age, gender can appreciate it, your knowledge about music is not important, you know you are watching a genius at work.

  • yeah, Yann Tiersen is more of a rock musician than classical at stage. There is so much energy there, maybe not for the sooty proffesional classical music lovers out there, but I am sure your technical artists wouldnt make a theatre filled with normal people go crazy like Yann Tiersen.

  • That poor bow!

  • Hello

Thanks for commenting on my video.

I know he is not a high level violin player and probably there are better players among you, unknown people who like music and study it. But let me tell you something: art is far from technical perfection. And this man (Yann Tiersen) is an artist, and as an artist should he be judged, not as a technical musician.

I hope you agree and if not, at least I hope you all understand my point of view (I understand yours! xD)

    Thanks again, enjoy it.

  • 'ptakbezglowy' it was me.

I like classical sounds but so far I didn't need anyone who could take Yann's place. If you like complex technical the most, Yann is not artist for you.

Sorry if my English is not too correct.

  • Yann Tiersen is not an classical artist. technicalities are not important for us- Sur le fil is great enough, and it is whole fascinating piece, not only last hard part with "gimmicks" (but gimmicks make really impressive effect in sounds!).

Maybe I'm stupid music-greenhorn, but I don't think that snooty professional particulars are very important for sensitive artists.

  • If you want to go deeper into the way of classical violin lovers, let's watch this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo0nJ7zJF1M&search=heifetz

He is the all-time god of violin, and he is still the idol of many modern violin masters simply because yet nobody in history can surpass his speed, drexterity, and precision

Youtube has the guitar version of Paganini Caprice #24 too, also played in a very calm style:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8emx6wr5Gg&search=heifetz

  • Do a search with "heifetz" in YouTube and then you can find all these great videos

  • Do you have something else?

  • he played only in the first position... with a lot of gimmicks

  • Gimmicks? Like what?

  • Sorry, I think I should not attack somebody's idol (if he is your idol); I also like his music and I actually have 2 or 3 of his albums

But technical-wise, he is not that great at all in violin judging from this video

His exaggerating posture, and his rocking back and forth is in the style that classical people refer to as "gimmicks"

  • whatever... looks like he's stretching out his pinky pretty far for the higher notes...

  • Playing in only the first position (first thumb-to-neck position) is the very easy; He showed some of his bowing technique of spiccato also, however, not in a very delicately controlled style: *ALL these doesn't mean the notes he made out of these techniques are not good enough for the ear --- simple melody can be very appealing too

  • Sur le Fil........

Maybe I'll see that in Cracov, 16.03.

Beautifuuulll, Yann is more impressive than Paganini!!!
