  • Very cool man I want to make one

  • What is the LPG regulated to, or is it?

  • seeing as these are hard times , i think you can reduce the amount of oil you are using and instead burn 50/50 ratio oil/water. google patent #2863499. . great work by the way.

  • do u have a crucible and are u melting what type of metal.?awsome show dude!

  • @bcdigit hi yes i have a ceramic crucible for alloy and two others made from stainless steal just for large amounts of metal to poor into ingots

  • @TheMrTinker does it get hot enough to do copper and brass?

  • I guess a hoover could be stuck in the end of the pipe instead of using compressed air ?. I have not got a compressor, but i have got an old hoover.

  • @TheMrTinker About how much oil does it consume per hr, say at half and at full throttle?

  • @secularheathen hi the nozzle is rated at 1 US gallon per her an i would asume that is full throttle i dont run it that hard, i have not measured how much it uses but it is not alot mat be 1 ltr per hr

  • why wasting oil?

  • Great video/ idea thanks for sharing

    Greetings from Athens Hellas

  • awesome jet afterburner man sweet

  • I'm very impressed with your burner. I would like to buy one from you. What would the cost be shipped to the US?

  • good video mate. You can preheat the oil using your furnace, 1/2" stainless steel tubing it's better then cooper, since copper corrodes quickly. If you make few loops of tubing around the beer keg will take care of the preheating the oil. Weld one end of the tubing bottom and the other end maybe 7,8" higher on the oil tank or bottle. I like the this torch man, it's fully adjustable. You made nice "quite" compressor too. Good job mate and thanks for sharing it.

  • If operating a waste oil furnace illegally, the money you anticipate in energy savings can be quickly lost. Burning waste oil that contains hazardous heavy metals or other pollutants also negates any environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient benefits offered by the furnace.

  • @mikeusername1 Who says its illegal and its vegitable oil so i doubt there are any heavy metals

  • @TheMrTinker Waste oil Burner is for vegetable??? wy this name??? waste oil........

  • @TheMrTinker especially when melting aluminum evaporates into the air we breathe ...

i am greek sorry this is translate...

  • молодец

  • It appears to me that you are heating the huge oil container with electricity. What if you add a smaller secondary oil container and heat up the smaller container instead, that way you will save energy by not having to heat up a huge container (if you usually don't use all of the heated up oil).

  • @sinashsh ... I only heat the oil a little to about 40c and i dont use all the oil, it burns well even if the oil is around 10c during winter here in Australia

  • I dont mean to sound stupid, but I didnt catch how you pump the oil into the mix? Thanks.

  • @ohyeahtotally08 ....i dont pump the oil it is gravity feed and through capillary action is drawn into the burner

  • this is the best burner ive seen yet i use lp to preheat and start my burner too.

  • @jonnieq09 ...thanks !!

  • at 1:05 when you adjusted the regulator it sounded like a jet engine... is that more air or fuel rushing thru?

  • @chevyvictor ..Hi the air regulator is on the right side away from me i first turned the middle tap of which is Gas then adjusted the air from about 3 psi to about 6 psi then throttled the oil back so to get a cleaner burn and stop oil from running out front

  • @chevyvictor ...as the mixture is adjusted it draws more air in as it requires

  • that is freakin awesome , thnx for sharing .

  • @bd86monte ...No worries

  • GORGEOUS set up.

  • @havocdaemon Thanks

  • Lol, Mini F-111 Jet Engine with flamer thrower, Lol. It is good one ! Yeah !

  • The substance that is dripping from the burner on to the concrete dont look like waste oil to me its more like karosene

  • @1amelka Well that shows how much you know, if you put oil in you will get oil out not kerosene, did you concider that the fuel to air mix might have been a little bit rich causing the excess to drip out the front, never mind the oil by now is in excess of 300c

  • @TheMrTinker But I am just stating the fact that used oil is usualy contaminated with dirt and is very visible in its color for example being black. But your oil dripping out onto the concrete is perfectly clean almost clear in color what would give me reason to believe that its clean oil and not waste like you state. And so instead of attacking me becuase I notice this maybee you should just tell us why it is as clean as if you bought it straight from the refinery.

  • @XXmineGamerXX Yes the oil coming out the front is clean in fact it was filtered then put throught a centrifuge first to remove the contaminants, but the oil is extremely hot thus making it a lot thinner than in the cool state

The oil is Watse cotton seed oil from a fish n chip shop that was used for about 4 days then changed

  • hi luck at my burner starts with only waste oil^^youtube.com/watch?v=2bKNpb6-FOU

  • You have to share Please looking to build one this week i believe this is it please share your build..

  • Great burner, very tidy design, like the idea of concrete. Did you make your concrete using vermiculite?

  • @InclinedTherapy hi

The concrete you can purchase from refactories supplies it has vermiculite in it and is rated to about 1500oC

There is not thermal blaket between the outer case and concrete so the outer skin gets to about 250oC

while the inner temp is about 1200oC

  • I made a new babington vegetable burner high temperature with concrete fire.

    T° near 1500°

  • Kudos. Great video and very nice burner. I too am very interested in design and construction details. I think yours is the nicest burner I have seen.

  • @cnbro1 Thanks

  • yes this is a total waste of oil . why u didnt use it to melt something but u wasted it to show to us

  • @ILOVEFIATBRAVA yes it was a waste of oil a bit like ur comment

  • @ILOVEFIATBRAVA I guess you missed the part where he said he got his oil for free?

  • Very nice! Could you possibly do a vid and talk about the design? Thanks! John.

  • @watcherjohnny Thanks john

I am going to do a video on the jets in the near future

  • Bonjour, I watched your video, it's a good system. I made a vegetable oil burner, type BABINGTON. I made some runs to improve the system, for the moment i modified only the burner. In the future i mixed gaz in air. For the moment the maximum highest T° i have: 1100°. I think it's possible to go near 1300°. My question: Do you know the temperature of your burner? Thank you for your answer. You can watch my videos on loukalou77560. Best regards from France Sorry for my english
  • @loukalou77560 hi thaks for the comments

At the moment i have not been able to measure the temp of burner but looking into it

  • I agree with other guys, really tidy nice burner design! I too would love to see more of the construction details.

  • @85rocco Thnks for ur comments, soon i will be doin a video

  • I really like this burner design... I have been thinking about Making a foundry furnace. I have made a propane forge and burner but really like the Idea of using waste oil, so far this is the best design I have seen.. If you could add a few details on how you made it, you help out a newbie, that would be very helpful..

  • @angledicky Hi

keep a look out , in the near future i will be doin a video on the jets, gas and design

  • Hi there,

I'm very impressed with your burner design. Can you explain (or show in a video) how the jets or nozzles are set up in the burner tube? How much propane pressure is there in the hose connected to the burner pipe? I know...lots of questions, but I'm very intrigued by the design without a blower. Like to build one! I build Babington burners myself (see my vids) but the do not put out enough heat for melting aluminium quick.

    Regards,

    redkrabby

  • @Redkrabby thanks for the comments

There is only about 5/ 8psi in the LPG but it is only connected for a short time until the burner starts up then it is turned off after which i now disconnect it { Ref to next video } May be a short video soon on burner design

  • @TheMrTinker

Thank you very much for the explanation. Some explanation about the internals and design would be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Redkrabby.

  • @Redkrabby Come on man he showed you his radical turbo blaster gizmo what more do you want? Personally I want him to put wings on that keg so it flies around!
