  • He is the Master. Simple!

  • one day i will play like this.....in my dreams!! he is amazing! beautiful!

  • I recently got the amazing opportunity to see him play this in person and it was absolutely breathtaking. Even better than the video! I was also lucky enough to be in a masterclass with him and his wife and they both are amazing flute players as well as amazing people. I will never forget that experience. Sir and Lady Galway best flautists ever! <3

  • One of the things I enjoy about Galway is that, while capable of playing the most technically demanding music absolutely flawlessly, he still always does justice to relatively simple tunes. I find this particular tune a great warmup exercise to play slowly, through all twelve keys; great for tone and intonation; it's also a very lovely melody to play.

  • i love this song it is beautiful at least no voted thumbs down james is good. i want to learn how to play alot of songs but i will learn soon. i hope. ohh and can i get thumbs up please for the comment that i left. i hope you guys give me a lot of thumbs up i would be very happy and stop commenting on this song that he just played thank you.

give me more than 16 thumbs up.

  • This song means so much to me, and James has played it so beautifully.

I am crying listening to this for what it means to me as well as the beauty in his playing.

  • Incredibly elegant and moving. Preserve your culture and race. Do not get IMF bail outs and don't join the monolithic fascist Nazi EU. Have babies and don't let Muslims and immigrants take over your land and heritage. There are two politicians from England, I'm sure you know them: Nigel Farage and Daniel Hannan. They are prophetic and persecuted for being anti-EU. They are so brave and need you to say No to the EU. I want to visit Ireland and pick four-leaf clovers and live off potatoes:)...

  • @blueguitarblue

What an incredibly dull series of statements...

  • Beautiful! I remember seeing him back in 1980. He is still wonderful! My 6th grade flutes like him also.

  • it does affect the resonation of the sound but really the air is what produces his sound that and the vast that when he does vibrato he doesn't use his lip or jaw muscles and in my experience which is only that of 6 years is to say that relaxing ones lip muscles helps to hit a higher range and stay in tune. That and the fact that he has played since the age of 6 years old.

  • saw him last night, amazing

  • How can he play those VERY high notes so clearly? Simply, the best!

  • @NASNIPmangco0l

HE HAS A GOLD FLUTE THATS HOW

  • @NASNIPmangco0l En travaillant énormément surtout les erxercices de Monsieur MARCEL MOYSE

  • @NASNIPmangco0l It's only a high A, quite within the normal range of the instrument; any halfway competent flute player should have no difficulty with that note - though this isn't to detract from Galway's playing; he really does have a superb tone. He can, and does, play much higher than that note, and with great ease -

  • His tone and pitch are always perfect, and I am always jealous of how easily he can reach those really high notes that are placed 2 octaves above the stave (e.g. high B flat and C). I have tried to play along with him but I sound like I had just started again back in grade 7 compared to him.

He is, and always will be, the best flute player.

  • To my recent experience, the reason he is so natural is:

He has a balanced vocal muscles setting… borne with it

  • @infinity4you That and most likely the gold flute he plays on helps as well.

  • @BecandYami the material of the flute doesn't make you sound that clear. thats all him

  • @BecandYami how long have you played?

  • @Normansisthebest As of 2011 I have been playing for 7 years. Why do you ask?

  • @BecandYami just wondering

  • Incredible and inspiring. He incorporated something supernatural and beautifully powerful into that playing.

  • Muito Obrigado por compartilhar este vídeo. Lindíssimo.

  • he's like a good wine. The older the better.

  • Awesome!
