  • So fucking fun to play :)

  • i want this riff!

  • @NorthFulton88 i finger pick it and it still sounds great

  • yeah so what's the fucking issue with bass players using a pick or not? who gives a rat's ass ??

  • yea....mtv news..

  • I love Cliff and dave

  • Best vocal ever??? Paul Baloff!!!

    Best guitarist ever??? Dimebag Darrell!!!

Best bass player ever??? Cliff Burton!!!

    Best drummer ever??? Gar Samuelson!!!

Best hockey player ever??? Pavol Demitra (slovak player, died a few days ago)!!!

They were all perfect but STOP FUCKIN' OVERRATING PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEY ARE DEAD!!! R.I.P.

  • @solarikrobert I totally agree with you, it's almost becoming a fashion. rip to all these great artists of course

  • @solarikrobert honestly, cliff is my favorite, and i love pantera, exodus and megadeth, but cliff is the only one of that is dead that i can call my favorite at what they did.

  • @solarikrobert well Chuck Schuldiner kicks Dime's ass.

  • i never thought of looking at bass only tracks...a great idea. I was playing parts of this song wrong...Who knows how many songs i've learned wrong.

  • @337camo That's the same thing I'm experiencing, after having learned a bunch of Metallica songs etc. by ear or from tabs years ago. Now that the bass-only tracks are out, I find out I've been playing them wrong.

  • @minusjason yea it sucks. gotta relearn certain parts of songs.

  • @minusjason you weren't playing them wrong, you were playing them your way.

  • @IsThis4Entertainment That's a cop-out... I wasn't consciously reinterpreting them; I thought I was playing them the same way they were on the album, but I wasn't, ergo I was playing them wrong. "I was just playing them my way" sounds like something a bassist with an ego would say.

  • Stop sticking Cliff Burton in these comments, I bet even he wouldnt care who is the best. Metalheads are always like a big family, they never call themselves or want to be best, aiming to be best doesn't make you like that.

  • @runemies2 Actually when Cliff's younger brother died, he said that he would become the world's best bass player for him.

  • @infuryify

I doubt Cliff meant that literally. I'm sure he just meant that as, "I'm going to try as hard as I possibly can in order to honor my brother's memory," not "I want to become the undisputed best and I hope that long after my ashes are scattered, my fans will still belittle anyone who doesn't think I was!"

  • @VidsByDaniel That IS what I wanted do say =).

  • @infuryify

    Awesome!

  • if megadeth remaked their albums with only bass lines i will buy em ... for sure!! i play guitar myself but i like bass better O.O

  • stop the arguments about cliff and dave! listen love and know that john myung whips both of them lol they are all good im fucking with you!

  • @MROB923 This is the best response.

  • do you guys know that this intro is written by dave ?

  • Ellefson > every bassist in Metallica.

  • @revivedSpArTaN Ellefson,Cliff,Jason > Rob

  • ya but the bass intro is the best bass in the song for style and quality so dave mustard wrote the best part

  • I like that David Ellefson is much more ordered than cliff. Cliff tries to hit too many notes too fill up the song, david does great and shreads his bass when he has to.

  • @gdsmzroll Fuck you! Cliff was a WAYYYYYYYYY better bassist then Ellefson!!!!

  • @AnaheimDucks1993 No, he wasn't.

    \m/ MEGADETH \m/

  • @GolecWTF Yes he was dammit! Cliff SHITS on Ellefson!!!!!!!

  • @AnaheimDucks1993 loool... He wasn't. Just like Metallica wasn't and won't be better than Megadeth.

  • @GolecWTF They Already Are.

  • @MAGNETMETALLICA Yes, Megadeth is better. That's waht I wrote.

  • @AnaheimDucks1993 Yell yeah! And while i'm at it, apples are WAY BETTER than oranges!

  • @AnaheimDucks1993 Indeed

  • @AnaheimDucks1993 I think Ellefson gets shoved in the back of the band more because Dave is a shredder on the guitar, which makes it harder for others to get more attention. Ellefson also used a pick, and cliff doesnt. They use different styles...

Burton was also a rhythm bass player, but I find it less easy to do Burtons stuff, while Ellefson has easier stuff. They are both easy, but Ellefson uses easier sounds and less complicated lines (my opinion.)

Burton is the master of finger

    Ellef pik

  • @fearcross Yes I can agree on that bro. haha! But I will say, Cliff had way better stage presence and energy than Ellefson does.

  • @fearcross lol are you kidding? Cliff was just a rhythm bassist? thats why his style is known as lead bass, no clue why must be all the bass solo's and fills he has in his stuff songs. Look at Orion, Call of Ktulu, and the killer speed in battery fight fire with fire and master of puppets. Cliff studied Classical music and composed his riffs according to those. I still think Cliff is a better bassist than Ellefson because of all the influence he has in ever song, and all the fills

  • Too Beast!

  • It's kinda sad...you drop an f bomb and they slap that Parental Advisory Explicit Content Label on there...Seriously folks the kids hear their own parents drop more f bombs than the artist does on the record.

  • One of the best bass lines ever.

  • David Ellefson is a great bassist.

  • yes but it was Mustaine who wrote the bass riff.

  • @Koffe113 That specific intro riff mightv'e been written by Mustaine, but the bass track as a whole is very strong, Ellefson has a very cool style and tone.

  • @Koffe113 he wrote all tracks from that album, but 3 tracks are written by both Dave and Dave J-r

  • @Koffe113 Mustaine only wrote the bass intro.

  • @MrCobra285 that riff he redirected to the intro...

  • @Koffe113 seriously man thx for the fact ....

  • @Koffe113 Just the intro. which is the same riff as the guitar riff later in the song.

  • @Koffe113 yeah, it was

  • @Koffe113

You act as if the bass riff is the main part of the song, or even the best part.

  • @DaveInVein He's not, I think he is responding to the other top comment..

  • @Koffe113 i wrote it.

  • @lovestospooge646 LOL that was funny!

  • @Koffe113 dave is god.

  • @MetalUnderground100 he isn't a great bassist HE IS THE GREAT BASSIST!!
