  • Bruce and Tom are so great togheter!

  • It is awesome that Tom Morello is wearing an IWW hat. Very fitting for the occasion. Tom Joad would be proud.

    ONE BIG UNION.

  • The acoustic version of this song is pretty good too.

  • awesome....ratm and springsteen seem at odds but they both rule...in case u arent familiar with who tom joad is read Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck....it'll make you wanna cry when you hear this song

  • Thanks you the great videos! Keep 'em coming!

  • Good version & fitting for Pete's Birthday!

Although the LA duet for the Dream Tour had some great electric guitar from Tom..

this take it "tight" in its' Urgency!

  • I've listened to this song (and other versions of it with Bruce and Tom) and i have to say the acoustic one definitely has its own unique character. Surely you don't have Tom's killer electric guitar solo but i think this song has more character and meaning when played acoustic. Tom's my fav musician and you just gotta love the Boss :D

  • I swear Bruce must get Botox treatments or something......for 60 he looks so good still......Maybe it's his teenage kids or something keeping him looking so youthful and vibrant......and alive...

Some of the older rockers get to lookin' realllllllly old because of all the drugs and drinkin'......not Bruce....not the Boss.

    Just sayin'....I noticed

  • bruce never did all the drugs that other rockers did. one of the things that makes him unique.

  • Haha, but I do remember sitting next to him on many a bar stool at the Green Parrot and other Shore establishments...geting mighty drunk back in the late 70's early 80's

  • Bruce recognized in the early 80s that he needed to train and exercise in order to stay fit and strong for his tours, so he hired a personal trainer, and hence the muscles and increased body mass - you can tell that he at least keeps in shape - unlike his fellow musicians of same vintage. He's always said that his 'high' was the live stage. These are well documented since the 80s

  • @nkkcboss :There are a few who stay in shape like Bruce.(remember Mick Jagger?)..And as much as I love Bruce, these days he should consider quiting touring with The E Street Band because his live shows (Mainly his voice) aren't like they were before..Acoustically he still gives me the shivers, with a giant band like The E Street behind him is another matter..I hope he knows when to quit,really..

  • Yeah...they both look young for they age...Bruce is 60 and Tom is fucking 46...on this video he looks like 18 or something...

  • @doodoobaby992 lol ... Pete Seeger is 90 years old -- a couple of generations younger than Bruce and Tom ... it's a tribute to an American legend. Just hope you look and SOUND that good when you're their age. ;)

  • In response to G.. 123:

    Who is Tom Morello?

Tom was the guitarist in a band that covered the song, better than the original version by Bruce.

    Rage against the machine

  • HAHA, NO WAY!

    Bruce's is a lot better.

  • Bruce Springsteen himself has said that Rage Against The Machine's version beats his.

  • He is just being respectful.

  • He also has an alias name "The Nightwatchman" where he makes political folk music aside from Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and Street Sweeper Social Club.

  • Bruce's original is acoustic purity and Rage's version is, well, pretty much the opposite. Personally, I like both versions but its like comparing apples and oranges. Even if you prefer a cover version of a tune, it seems you have to give some props and respect to the original.

  • @dynastychick3 :How very true!..never forget the original song, even if you prefer a cover version..

  • How I wish I'd been there.

  • I love Springsteen's message and his haunting lyrics and melodies about the American condition.

  • hahaha, you're a retard

  • Bruce is not a hypocrite, he stands up for what he believes in at those momnents in time, times change therefor opinions change.

  • And it's PETE Seeger. There is a Bob SEGER, but this is PETE SEEGER. Thanks. :)

  • There is also a Peggy Seeger, not sure of her relationship with Pete0sister??

  • Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccce! Such an amazing song! Tom Morello is one hell of a guitarist! Remember LA not too long ago. That was a crazy performance of GOTJ! This is awesome!

  • Pete Seeger

  • Whose Tom Morello?

  • Guitar player with Rage Against the Machine, when he first came to fame. One of the finest guitarists of his generation.

  • that's right, this is one of the best songs bruce ever wrote. great tom m too!

  • Fantastic, and how true these lyrics sadly are again in today`s current financial crisis. As history certainly does repeat itself. Taken from the album The Ghost of Tom Joad in 1995. Tom Morrelo whether in electric or accoustic guitar compliments Bruce wonderfully. Thanks for posting.

  • BOB seeger?

  • Bruce on Parade...... lol

  • Great, Bruce at his best with a really rough, angry and very strong voice doing one of his best songs. He sounds lik he is totally IN. Thanks so much for sharing this!
