My friend was a dj in highschool around 1997 to 1998 he had mountain brothers on vinyl. I had never heard of them before, after that I bought there album and try to inform people to their greatness. MB's for ever!!
I heard this song ONCE in the late 90's and for some reason it stayed w/ me. But I cant find that damn CD for MY LIFE. It's like lookin for a record from Loud, very rare
still amazes me how asians get no love.. in the scene. Video was original shown on MTV in the usa, the on Kmvh and still no where.. Jin didn't get his shot till Freestyle friday..
I remember these guys. This and Hostile Takeover are some of my favorite tracks. The beat's very chill but at the same time sounds a bit like porn. Not to say the beat is bad at all...
i cant believe chops. he had a decent album early in 2K with kanye west (even though it was like a minute long) and now he's producing bullshit for bun b and other shit rappers. what happened to you? maybe he should become a doctor like Styles
Goddman, I miss 90's hip-hop. BRP crew spun this shit in college non-stop (WKU Hilltoppers).
This shit was a true track, moreover an album, I distinctly remember peeps at that time overlooking like a motherfucker, because the transition to pop-hop shit was already in effect.
"Mad corpulent"...and that break...holy shit. Man, I wore this CD out til it was destroyed and I fought for the Mt. Bros. on college radio because these fuckers had heart. If you readin' this cats, respect due, bless us!!!
got that flava on this one but isee chops is commercial i aint even goin to hit another vid of his plus mb probably gettin fresher without his shit this is the only track ilike
Holy shit! Did someone just say the Mountain Brothers are the most legendary crew to ever grace hip hop? Yikes! Maybe you should do some studying dude. The Mountain Brothers are mediocre but the most legendary crew to ever grace hip hop. Are you daft?
Mountain Brothers need to stage a reunion tour. There is no way Peril-L and Styles completely stopped writing. I know CHOPS is above this gangsta nigga bullshit you hear on the radio. It sickens me to know that this talent was wasted and discarded by those around them, they should be known as the most legendary crew to ever grace hip-hop. CHOPS was highly influential for a producer, and along with Peril-L and Styles sick lines, they can't be beat. Its a fuckin hostile takeover!
This beat was dope as hell. But I kind of hate when people just rap as fast as they can and there's no real flow or musicality to the delivery. But I thought these guys had dope beats and this was before the internet made finding rare ish easy.
These dudes got slept on. They were really good and rept Philly to the fullest about 8-9 years ago. Chops, is still producing alot out West, and Texas. He has done alot of stuff for Bun-B.
I used to rock this song it almost wouldn't play anymore. See... Boredom at work pushed me to find this. I'm glad I did. UGH!!! "Galaxies, galaxies!!!"
this is a great song. i just found out about mountain brothers a few days ago. i`m kickin` myself for sleepin` on these cats. thanks for uploading the video.
These guys were the ish. They broke up a while back. Mr. Chops ( the guy with the glasses) has dropped a couple of albums. He does some hot production.
jin is the first SOLO asian rapper to hit the industry. mountain brothers also arent the first group to be signed, Chris Wong Won, also known as "Fresh Kid Ice" and as "The Chinaman" was signed to 2 Live Crew back in the day.
first off.... since when is 2 live crew an asian rap GROUP???? thats ONE asian guy in a group with NON-ASIANS.. and also, since when is 2 live crew a record label????
MB`s are the first asian RAP GROUP, signed to a MAJOR RECORD LABEL in USA....
this is talked about way to much on old rap videos but theres still no satisfactory answer. why buy a wayne album when this exist?
