@EndOfTheW0rld I still have it, but as I have another phone I haven't activated this one ever. The fact that it requires a full price data plan when it's not a smartphone irks me. I'm likely going to get an Android device soon. I think your best best, if you want a KIN, would be to get one of the rebranded KIN TWOm devices that VZW just issued. They don't have the mandatory data plan. The phone itself is rather nice, but not worth the data plan price.
@EndOfTheW0rld They were also stripped of the Kin Studio, I just found. I'm not sure if they're really worth it or not. As a regular feature phone, I don't see why not.
@moto815 I'd personally probably get the droid x. It's a newer device and it's running android, which is a very flexible/powerful mobile OS. I've heard some complaints about the incredible, and the KIN just doesn't have enough going on to be comparable to an android device.
@cpucrash0 I think it's a pretty solid device. The biggest problem is that it requires the $30/mo data plan that you can get more capable devices with. I haven't activated it, as I get my new phone on contract in November. I have wanted to get an Android device for a while now, and if I'm going to pay for the data plan, I want a true smartphone. I think it's a bummer that the KIN was discontinued, but from an article I read at engadget is seemed doomed before it was released.
@Link9228 You should then keep it as a collectors item even though it's not activated. But I do think it was doomed to fail the day they announced it. I read that their might not be any firmware update to it now. It's just a bummer for people who actually bought and it's just money wasted. oh by the way i got an iphone 4 and I like it allot.
@cpucrash0 Yeah, I think I'm going to. I would certainly activate it if I wasn't going to get a new device soon. I really like it from all the playing around I did on it.
@cpucrash0 And I've heard that the iPhone 4.0 improved a good deal of things over the older installments. I am not a fan of Apple, however, and am on Verizon, so the iPhone is out of the question for me.
