Very impressive footage, but they don't look like Cape Buffalo, the real deal buffalo; these buffalo seem to have different horn structure. Nonetheless, I could be mistaken.

So, so lucky to get this on film, I spent 4 days on safari and did not even see a lion never mind a kill, the closest I got to the big cats was seeing some cheetah lazing under a tree about 100 yards away.People go on safari and think they will see this all the time, my guide said he is lucky if he witnesses a big cat kill once a year.

@KeySour They will sometimes fight a lion when one of theirs is taken. That's why they went back to challenge the lion, but then got scared of the 2nd one. There are other videos where they've rescued one of their own. They seem to have trouble forming a quarum about what exactly to do, but "run" usually wins out.

@Bhote3 lol they would usually come back to try to save a member of their pack, so what they thought was a good idea which really turned ugly...the second lion seemed to scare the heroic pack away!! but he saw a chance to grab a juvenile buffalo....saw the big boys don't need to share the same meal :)

So, so lucky to get this on film, I spent 4 days on safari and did not even see a lion never mind a kill, the closest I got to the big cats was seeing some cheetah lazing under a tree about 100 yards away.People go on safari and think they will see this all the time, my guide said he is lucky if he witnesses a big cat kill once a year.

@KeySour They will sometimes fight a lion when one of theirs is taken. That's why they went back to challenge the lion, but then got scared of the 2nd one. There are other videos where they've rescued one of their own. They seem to have trouble forming a quarum about what exactly to do, but "run" usually wins out.

@Florrezmax males lions hunt when they don't have a pride of their own. once they start their own pride, or when they over take pride from other male lions, they do rarely hunt unless female lions alone can't handle.

And r a r e l y hunting means that they often feed on food others have hunted but actually hunt occasionally themselves. If a male Lion hunting would be such a sensational exeption from the normal you wouldn't find so many male lions hunting-vids on youtube.

That's a pretty weak herd of Buffalo. The lions are doing stronger herds of Buffalo a big favor. The lions hardly had to put any effort into catching a meal.
