Ive Been Studying the evolution of this solo for years. some better than others, You scored an amazing take! His playing is SO ON!! The Band however... the Drummer missed the build and climax, the Bass player is distracting, the song is rushed to the point of losing potency. Like Schenk w/ an average cover band! He delivers though. God Bless you for this footage!!
Thank you. There are fluid passages he played several times on this solo that I never heard him play until 1995 during the "Walk on Water" tour (Pushed to the Limit). It may have been influenced by Warren DeMartini when Michael toured with Ratt during 1991. During the McAuley/Schenker years, this song was played at a fast tempo also, but many bars of the solo were left out. I thought Michael's playing was great on this show as well as the entire 2009 tour, overall.
The show exceeded my expectations, even though Gary Barden had a sinus infection and the Bass Guitar wasn't loud enough. Overall, it was a great night.
wow!!!!!!! rock bottom kicks major league metal ass!!!!!!!! I saw schenker in nyc last month and he just literally tore the roof off the blender theatre. as far as I am concerned schenker is the ultimate heavy guitar player of all time!!!!!!!!! long live mr. schenker!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Schenker never plays the solo the same way as before. A true feel player - his improvisation gives this song a new quality every time it's played live.
this is the master!
