I love this video too. What struck home for me was your commment that 'most' outcomes are largely dependant on what we ourelves do, but in this problem it's largely dependant on what the other person does.

The prisoners dilemma is probably the best example of the Nash Equilibrium =/= Pareto Optimum. Real world game examples of this are:

Settlers of Catan - Trading and the threat of trading can cause a game to be longer, shorter or more tense.

Acquire - A conglomerate (two players cooperating) can never form because the 'best move' will break their agreement at some point.

And, to show how hugely nerdy I am: Tongo - Ferengi roulette. You pay for your moves, so the best move is to betray.
