  • Randy could you or anyone explain a little bit about how that cross banding works? I'm very new and will be testing for both my technicians, and general license in about 2 weeks. I understand Munichman dialed your node via the echolink, but how did you patch that into the HF frequency to talk to elaine is that all done through the echolink software with radio control? Thanks I really appreciate it, and its amazing what technology lets us do now.

  • @CCWSig Hi, I'm not sure if the echolink was really linked to the HF radio. The HF mic may have been just picking up the audio.

  • great to see how a radio station, also on HF antennas in order to modulate from 160 meters to 10 meters and 6 meters. I have recently entered this wonderful world of radio, but I have little ability to pay but really want to do. I wish I could make the contest with America and around the world chgiedo information to you that you are a pilot of the frequencies that make antenna to make a one-off fee and you are in attendance. Greetings from Trieste, Italy Fulvio 73 IV3CDB

  • director accounts with long videos are still available google 'director accounts"

  • I've been inactive for years, but this got my interest. I am not a contester, just love old time rag chew. I used to do the BRTN on 2m about 15 years ago. Listening lately, the bands are not crowded like they used to be. Could be my messed up antenna, gotta work on it this year, and blow the dust off the rig. Enjoy your many vids Randy, thanks!

  • The reason that the bands may seen not as crowded is that we are at the bottom of the sun spot cycle now. Listen during a contest weekend and the bands come alive. Randy

  • This looks great!

Is there a regular sked for YTers?

    time/freq?

A YT net would be kewl.

  • ok thx for the reply

  • how the hell did you get a thirty three minutes video time allowance?

  • When youtube first started you could sign up for director accounts, which allowed longer than 10 minute videos. I don't think youtube offers director accounts anymore. Randy

  • @K7AGE they don't, but if you make good videos, they will send an email to you saying you can upload more than 25 minutes

  • could i talk to u with echolink with 2 meter or 6 meters? chris-KC9NRV

  • Yes, if you find a 2 or 6 meter echolink node to connect to my echolink node. Randy

  • Randy, why was Elaine using USB on 40M? Correct me if im wrong but isnt it standart procedure to use LSB for 40M? Also, thanks for the echolink contact a little while back, i look forward to the next Youtuber Party on HF. Hope to talk to you then!

  • Ive been watchin, and ive noticed that you and several other people have computer software. What is that for?

  • The software that you see is TRX-Manager. It controls the radio, watches DX spots and other features. I have a video on TRX, check it out. Another very popular, free, software is Ham Radio Deluxe. Randy

  • Ok, great thanks!

  • maybe you could add subtitled commentary in the edits of these filmed contacts to explain what might not be obvious to non hams?

  • Good point, I'll try and do more subtitles in the future. Randy
