This is my Uncle and I have never heard him sing that song with so Much Passion and Love as when he sang it at Olive, My Sister In Law's Funeral. I definately want him to record this in Olive's name, sell the Cd and donate some money towards St Frances Hospice!!! There wasn't a dry eye in the church and I'm guessing there was easily 1,000 people at the Funeral. This Girl was an amazing person!!!!!!!
@rayclaire I love your uncle. I met him once when he was touring with Mary and I love his version of Jai guru deva. He is one hell of a musician and I'd buy a CD if he released it. The grittiness and rawness of his voice moves me and anything he sings seem to be transformed and become totally his own.
well i have to say of all the versions i've heard of this song, this version is by far the best even better than the original i love it so much,, he sang this song at my cousins funeral :( , i can't stop listening to it, this song should be released with Noel singing it. he make this song his own FABULOUS!!
I heard Noel sing this song 'I Will' today (Baldoyle, Dublin). What a voice!!! It was a very touching tribute for a beautiful lady and a very special couple. It was so moving on such a very sad day.
Ive listened to it again and again. Very special. Keep it up.
Bearing in mind Noel is first and foremost a non-singing drummer (one of the best!), he does a pretty darn good vocal - only saw him sing one other song before.
Claire Bridgeman, how's your cousin Audrey? She on Facebook at all?
The song was actually written by Dick Glasser , it was as you say recorded by Billy Fury in the '60's. The version I remember best was Ruby Turners in the '70's.
A year has passed Olive, still listen to this all the time.. xx

@raycimino: Au contraire - Noel has a fine singing voice on him - check out most Thursdays in Frank Ryans of Smithfield

Fine version of it Noel. The Guitarist is a Plonker for not tuning his guitar. he had loads of time. Swanning around no doubt, as most of 'em do.

who wrote this song?

dunno but it sounds like something Daryl Hall or Tina Turner would cover

after much research it looks like it was written by Colin Paul and was a hit for Billy Fury
