But people should always make up their own minds of what is really going on, when it's clear that news coverage today is rarely un-biased.

@ignbtd No, it's the exact opposite. It's because he specifically does reiterate himself to go away from the criminals and back to all protestors. It WASN'T "1000's have been arrested, and many of them are loons", it was "1000's have been arrested, and surveys show many protestors are simply loons". By specifically reiterating that he's talking about protestors, he purposefully draws away from the criminals and goes back to the overall protestors themselves.
He qualifies his statement. After talking about the arrested ones, he qualifies his statement saying "studies show many protestors are simply loons". By qualifying with the word protestors he is going awa from the arrested ones and talking about all protestors. It's a common Fox technique that allows them to blatantly lie, then try and cover their asses when they get caught.
It's a brief change, then goes back to all protestors because he's biased.

Stewart lost me after the writers strike. After seeing him twiddle his thumbs for 23 minutes every night for 3 weeks, I realized that the man can't hack it himself. She did not say that Muslims and Jews are also easy targets, she just said that they don't deserve to be targeted either. Still, she said that Christians were the easy targets. Also, you are once again dead wrong. Bill did accuse Stewart of taking the clip out of context. He showed the clip and then said, "Here's what Gretchen Carlson really said" suggesting that the clip was taken out of context.

that anything was taken out of context. Stewart is making fun of the way Fox News always seems to make themselves out as victims and what Bill shows does not dispute that. She called Christians the easy targets and said they wouldn't do it to Muslims or Jews. The point that Stewart was making is not at all refuted by the way Bill O'reilly extends the clip. This is also the case in the other clips shown by John Stewart. Do you understand now?

What I am saying is that the 'more of the clip' does not give justice to the clip shown by Stewart. For example, in the clip regarding Christians being "the easy target" Bill shows the entire clip and it shows the woman saying that they shouldn't "do it" to Muslims or Jews either. The extension of the clip does not show

@ignbtd No, it's the exact opposite. It's because he specifically does reiterate himself to go away from the criminals and back to all protestors. It WASN'T "1000's have been arrested, and many of them are loons", it was "1000's have been arrested, and surveys show many protestors are simply loons". By specifically reiterating that he's talking about protestors, he purposefully draws away from the criminals and goes back to the overall protestors themselves.

By qualifying with the word protestors he is going awa from the arrested ones and talking about all protestors. It's a common Fox technique that allows them to blatantly lie, then try and cover their asses when they get caught.
It's a brief change, then goes back to all protestors because he's biased.

Bill tries to claim he was talking about the arrested ones being loons, but he doesn't say that. In fact he qualifies his comment to refer to "many protestors" rather than continueing on about the arrest.
So he plays more, but same context.

Sure about that? When Stewart went on O'Reilly not long after this clip, Bill challenged Stewart on this. Stewart explained to O'Reilly how he didn't believe the clip was out of context. Bill didn't have a come back for Stewart and moved on. O'Reilly didn't "own" Stewart.

They have a strange relationship but it is clear that they like and respect each other. Stewart likes to actually talk policy on O'Reilly and I think O'Reilly likes the more playful nature of TDS. Fox obviously tilts toward the right, its not Rocket Science. But MSNBC clearly tilts to the Left, and is every bit, if not MORE, biased than Fox. Stewart lost me after the writers strike. After seeing him twiddle his thumbs for 23 minutes every night for 3 weeks, I realized that the man can't hack it himself. That's the difference between him and O'Reilly. You can add in Colbert on this one as well. Both are hacks. Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, these guys do radio. Bottom line here is they all get it wrong on occasion, but context does actually matter in a news story. Why would anyone trust Comedy Central for actual news?
