I watched the whole game and the Badgerettes did not have anything going! The Sioux play physical hockey game in and game out! I agree this got out of hand only because the Badgerettes used the 2 on 1. Sioux dominated Friday night as well...the only player worth mentioning on the Badger roster was the goalie who stood on his head and stopeed 43 shots on Friday to shut out the Sioux!

I agree, I do not even know why there was a call, it was not a charge and it was not unnecessary roughness, I am sure it was "a hit on Turris" that was called, just like the hits on Pat Eaves or Robbie Earle
The announcers are idiots. The first check was not even that bad. Maybe a two minute roughing call at most. Then the ladies got together and danced around for a few minutes.
After all this was said and done, the Badgers had a two minute power play when Kaip was called for charging. Everyone else on the ice got a roughing and a misconduct.
Don't expect much more in college hockey. Actual fights are very rare.
The homer Badger announcers are complete idiots. I guess it is manly at UW to double team one player and jump people from behind. The Badgers played liked ladies all weekend.
Another great note: after the game, the refs had to keep Eaves (UW coach) and Hakstol (UND coach) seperated. If it wasn't for the fact that my Badgers had no spark for the whole game (save the last three minutes) and lost, this was an awesome game. Great split for the series.
As I mentioned in the USCHO forum... this really isn't a fight technically (no punches thrown). But as someone who was there: this was great to watch. Really exemplifies the rivalry in a way we haven't seen since the water bottle game of 1982.
When was the last time the sioux won a title? The last time they had a chance was when they lost yale acouple of years ago.

What about Jonathan Toews Travis Zajac Mike Commadore Jordan Parise Zach Parise Matt Greene Brandon Bochenski Jason Blake Marc Chorney Dave Christian Eddy Belfour ect plus it won't be long until we see TJ Oshie and Ryan Duncan in St. Louis racking up points not to mention the other 9 UND players that are NHL drafted maybe you should do some research oh and just some advice...if your not big into the physicallity of hockey you can always go watch some golf.

I watched the whole game and the Badgerettes did not have anything going! The Sioux play physical hockey game in and game out! I agree this got out of hand only because the Badgerettes used the 2 on 1. Sioux dominated Friday night as well...the only player worth mentioning on the Badger roster was the goalie who stood on his head and stopeed 43 shots on Friday to shut out the Sioux!

The penalty would be for the UND guy just running the pile, 2 minute rough maybe a charge..no biggie. UW's Klubertanz was a cowardly move, at least be face to face, not a sprinting charge to his back.
I am a Badger fan and agree this escalated too much. Turris can take care of his own slash to the hand, he played in Canada he's a big boy,
Homer announcers of course, but almost any announcer would be the same I think.

The announcers are idiots. The first check was not even that bad. Maybe a two minute roughing call at most. Then the ladies got together and danced around for a few minutes.

After all this was said and done, the Badgers had a two minute power play when Kaip was called for charging. Everyone else on the ice got a roughing and a misconduct.
Don't expect much more in college hockey. Actual fights are very rare.

Another great note: after the game, the refs had to keep Eaves (UW coach) and Hakstol (UND coach) seperated. If it wasn't for the fact that my Badgers had no spark for the whole game (save the last three minutes) and lost, this was an awesome game. Great split for the series.

As I mentioned in the USCHO forum... this really isn't a fight technically (no punches thrown). But as someone who was there: this was great to watch. Really exemplifies the rivalry in a way we haven't seen since the water bottle game of 1982.
