  • this is such propoganda..."we mean no harm"

  • @LASuperboy everything to you arabs is propaganda is it not also propaganda tor u arabs denying the truth all the times. u filthy conspiracy theorist. habaa. Bin ladens death was propaganda, infact even your own name is propanganda. i dont know why muslims hate the truth soo desparately. gushhh

  • @sihkang wake the fuck up man...i'm not an arab and even if i was it shouldn't discount the argument. Simple minded people like you are on the decline and people are seeing the bullshit of the govt for what it is...example OWS. the time for dumbasses like you who believe whatever the media says is over....

  • So the Iranian "Navy" is nothing more than a collection of small craft, swift boats and the like (yes, I'm sure someone out there with a surfeit of time will send me a complete inventory of their assets which will probably include a few vintage tincans and a sub or two)? I think the term "Navy" might be misapplied in this case. If what is depicted here is an accurate reflection of their "navy", then I think the term is misapplied else most state fishery patrols would qualify as navies as well.

  • Pacheco is my dude man I miss his ass too, I heard he went to iraq or something never had a chance to say goodbye

  • what afuss bout nothing much

  • there is persian gulf,us navy was not in water international, viva iran

  • Normal Everyday Ops in the Gulf ... I was on the Ingraham back in 91 and 93 in the gulf... We did this like 20 times in a week

  • My question is what were the Iranians trying to proove? Even if they would have boarded they would have all been shot.

Were they trying to do what was done to the Cole? What would have they acheived in small speed boats? Personally i feel it was an incident to show propoganda to their own people "See we can do this."

  • I was sleeping at the time this happened, but I think they were trying to identify us. I'm just glad we didn't go to general quarters. 3:20 is the worst accent I've ever heard... Obviously not Iranian. If I were free to guess, I would've said it was some disgruntled piece of crap sailor that wants to see combat action.

  • Wow now this shit brings back so many memories, I was on one of the two ships when this happened,USS Ingraham. I remember praying to myself and thanking god I wasn't on watch when this happened instead my homeboy Pacheco was on watch because my ass would of start busting at them fools. This is the main reason i got out the navy. It was fun and I met alot of cool people but I guess It wasn't meant for me becuase Im a trigger happy kind of guy with alot of attitude. Still respect the Navy

  • DUDE! You know Pacheco? I served with him, he's a cool cat! See ya!

  • i didnt actually say they were in iranian waters i said they were close to being so! and who are you to call me a fool you dont know me i am in the royal navy on HMS daring so dont you tell me what is what when we are talking about the wide sea. if an iranian vessle was in international waters anywhere near my home country of britain or america they would be blown away. so in actual FACT i was just making sense, so why dont you shut up and get back to watching pokemon.

  • "the uss ships were most likely in iranian waters " yes you did you limey faggot.

  • "OR VERY CLOSE TO BEING SO" as i clearly stated. No i didn't you limely faggot. what a nob.

  • the uss ships were most likely in iranian waters or very close to being so. an iranian vessel wouldn't even be allowed to be anywhere near US waters would they????? so why should US ships feel free to go into iranian water? or anywhere near them? surely they were expecting a small task force to buzz them, that is standard protocol, you cant just let 3 navy ships go near ur country and not feel threatened by it can you???

  • It's an INTERNATIONAL Shipping lane used by ALL vessels. You need to learn the "Rules of the Sea".

  • ledg,, you need to get your facts straight before you pen your mouth,, the Straights of Hormuz is INTERNATIONAL WATERS case closed, now go find another video to ankle bite off of fool. and when yo cross the straights of Homuz like I have 32 times then you can have a creadable position to whine from.

  • I can all but guarantee that if they spun up their radars and combat systems, those boats would have high-tailed it out of there. These guys know the kind of fire power that is on a U.S. naval ship and nothing would have been left of the boats if any of the guns were locked.

  • All systems are All go All the time. Personally, I would have engaged them with the 5-inch guns, first firing a warning shot, then direct targeting if they failed to obey. A Captain in an earlier incident did just that.

Back in WWII, and around the time of Korea (Even after the War), we would have blown ANY craft out of the water that approached our vessels in such a manner.

  • I think these guys should have been fired upon. They got too close.

  • Protecting our assets, you got it! Yeah, what the main population doesn't understand is that we have something called Rules Of Engagement which are in place to prevent another USS Cole incident from happening. After all, we have Battle Stations scenarios in boot camp based on that incident.

  • The Rockefellers, Bilderberg Group, and Trilateral Commission were trying to start another war.

  • wasnt this found to be set up by the US for publicity?

  • no.. but this is so gay, y would like 4 little speed boats try to stand up against three CG's, my bro is on the USS Port Royal an he said they were just seconds from opening fire and then they turned around!

  • Actually, it was a CG, DDG, and FFG

  • I spent over 18 months 97-99 floating in the Gulf as well as 12 months on ground with the Army from 03-04. We had 0problems from the Iranians at all. You could see the pillboxes on shore but we never even witnessed an iranian vessel. I was in a Guided Missile Cruiser Port Royal CG-73. If there was a problem, a harpoon or just the 5 inch would have solved it quickly. The Iranians are not the problem, our own arrigance is the problem. To think we can impose our will and not get shot is dumb.

  • side mounted machine guns will do the work

  • You'd be the first Service member involved in any actual ground/combat situation that I've ever heard declare such. So either you're a POG, or you simply lost yourself along the way (Maybe I'm even misinterpreting you).

  • my brother was on this ship when it happened...this would b so scary!

  • no doubt this video will be the amercians fault somehow!! it certainly looks like the iranians were the aggressors!

  • /F - ne guyz wanna chat? im bored and horny! 8

  • explain what the hell yanks are doing in that part of the world?

  • it doesnt matter. they were in INTERNATIONAL waters.

  • Hopefully, Russians will send a few nuclear subs, and few cruise missiles ships 12 miles away from US shores, and according to you they are in international waters. Hello! Have you not heard of Cuban missiles crisis? President JFK and his brother Bobby lost their lives because they mismanaged the Cuban crisis. JFK had to make concessions over the flank of NATO in Turkey, in exchange for missiles in Cuba. Please stop making silly comments.

  • An FFG an a DDG are hardly a threat like that. and international waters is 50 miles out, not 12.

  • Enforcing the freedom of the seas which nobody else seems capable of doing or wants to do. that's ok though, the US is used to everyone complaining yet crying when something is needed.

  • I would hope those ships deployed their 50 cal and 25 mm crews and slewed over their big guns as a defensive measure..starin down the barrels of big guns can be quite a deterrent..even tho the big guns are ineffective at that range, the 50's and 25 mm's could tear the hell out of those boats

  • threaten someone and they will go on the defensive nothing iran is doing now adays is out of the ordinary

  • Why does this surprise everyone? They did it all during the 80's. Do a search for "Operation Ernest Will".

  • those are navy seals , ive seen the documents

  • your so lying, so cut and paste the doc... I dare you, send it in to CNN ... we are waiting.. tap tap tap tap

  • Oh my God, you stupid fuckers. Just because Nixon did things that he wasn't supposed to are we supposed to thereby conclude that absolutely everything the Armed Services does is some sort of conspiracy. Only a shit for brains would assume that. Maybe there was never actually a guy named Hitler and we shouldn't have bothered. I think the fact is that hard leftist pussies hate our armed services or anyone who serves anything other than themselves.

  • are you really this stupid?

  • Quite a few unclassified papers on the Gulf of Tonkin have been released over the Years....NSA pretty much summed it up "that the event's leading to the bombing of N.Vietnam" were never confirmed by anyone.....it didn't happen.

While they were at it...they decided to bomb Laos and Cambodia too...as part of the US secret war...both events that were initially denied by Nixon.

This parallels the event of 1964.

  • i have friends on this ship cg 73 royal port

  • at the end i like how he says "you will explode after a few minetes"

  • the "incident" was an attempt by Bu$hco to kick off "Operation Iranian Oil Liberation" the iranian have much easier ways to take out US warships in the Straits. they are called 1 Kowsar 2 Kosar1 3 Kosar3 4 C-801 5 C-802 6 P-800 Oniks (also known SSN-X-26 Yakhont/Sunburst) (from Wikipedia) also the iranians have russian and chinese SUPERSONIC ASMs like the silkworm and the new model Yingji so WHY would they start a war with a tinyship vs destroyer encounter? they wouldn't
  • Good question, teknotiss. Perhaps you have answered your own question though? That is, Rev Guard HQ trying to start their own Operation per retaliatory response? Kinda a reversal? However, more likely this was a calculated Intel gathering operation only by Rev guard command. If missile attacks were launched on US warships, Irangovt knows USN/USAF would fully mobilize. And disregard the rogue voice at end. It's been validated as just a bored, fisherman prank on the open channel. Peace~

  • this is simply an attempt to portray the Iranians as belligerent. if they were then they would simply launch missiles at US ships and Military bases. this was another effort by Bu$hco to start an attack against Iran. War is all Bu$h has left to hold on to power with! an attack against Iran coupled with another attack on US soil (black op) and then bu$h gets martial law declared and gets to be president for life! not much chance for them now this opportunity has passed but they'll keep trying!

  • teknot, it was belligerent, the tape shows it. The voice part is some prankster fisherman on the open chann, but small boats don't maneuver like that when making an ID on passing USN ship. This was very unusual behavior so of course it raised alarms. The Iranian Rev guard side, to public knowledge, have not attempted this since then. Furthermore, a small terrorist speed boat could claim to be Iranian mil making inspection, yet turn into ship at close range, after its too late to engage.

  • you can't say what you just did with any authority! it has not been proven that those boats were even IRANIAN! i have listened to the IRANIAN audio track of this event and there isn't enough noise to match the manouvres of the Speedboats. so either Iran or The USA are lying! hmm whose MORE untrustworthy? Bu$hco or Iranian Mullahs?

    tough choice huh?

  • teknot,

You just proved the USN's point. Of course, they can't be sure of which origin such small craft making belligerent/hostile maneuvers, hence the reason for alarm.

An hypothetical terrorist small craft could just say they are Iranian mil as a cover to approach for a suicide/RPG attack, etc.

Therefor, it is especially important that such provocative maneuvers do not be repeated.

If so, warning shots at a safe distance is a reasonable action. (In case of copy-cats).

  • yay but the iranian navy is NOT fullyequiped to deal with a navel supper power...u must not be aware that the us also had 2 aircraft carriers in a 3 mile radius, they could take out ANY anti surface missle in 29 miles there is no way they would risk starting a war with a misle and having it being shot out of the sky... plus these small craft can easily slip under radar and they have a small sonor signiture so they could just as well have been suicidle

  • MyEarbot is completely fabricating the facts, patrol boats don't operate in open water, or deep seas, this incident occurred in the Strait of Hormuz that only a few miles wide!!

do you really think i would beleive youre BS story, when the US tried this (Gulf of Ton ken) to start the NAM war.

More white people that think their the master race.

    you tube search

1.Another Gulf of Tonkin all over again

  • most white people DON'T think they are a "master race" however Most of the Ruling Class DO think that They (not all white people) are a master race! this is how they explain their behaviour (after all if we the workers aren't really human then it's ok to poison our world and start wars all for profit)

Yes another Gulf of Tonkin thankfully this one failed!

  • I would've blown them out of the water, show them who has the bigger ship ;)

  • hay the money you spent on wars you can spent on Huminities.well today you are rich but tomm no body knows.

Go back leave us to salve over problems.

you are our problems what the hill you are doing in our waters.

no need of you protect your cpuntry not ours.

    Go back,Go back,Go back

  • They didnt provoke nobody, they need to watch their waters afterall and other than that what the fuck are the americans doing here? go back to the atlantic!

  • International waters are not the waters of Iran. Poof.

  • the straight of Hormuz is not international waters.

IT is the National waters of Iran or Saudi Arabia

if the Yanks were on the Iranian side then Iran CAN challenge them

    so your point is???

why not check out the facts before posting

  • Check yours -> "the straits of Hormuz are international waters. There is a Traffic Seperation Scheme in place there (TSS for short). The US ships transit the SOH in that TSS." This from a Navy Commander, who has led ships in that region. Or call him a liar.

  • Teknot, and opfor, on this point you are both half-accurate, imo.

SOH is not Iranian/Saudi passage, in parts of the straight, but Iranian and Oman. Portions of the channel are hence controlled as national water-ways, but they each must allow free passage according to international law. They can each question identity and request prompt transit through the waters (no loitering). But if either nation challenge a ships passage, ship has right to defend.

  • part of the strait is oman part saudi the other "side" is iranian so i was imprecise. apologies but a challenge is just a request for a course and identity response! the iranian audio of the incident has no high speed engines no shouts or threats and perfectly calm request for the ID ofthe coalition ships. this was provided by the us ships end of incident except from US media/Gov

  • damn it i meant part UAE not saudi sorry all!

  • teknot,

One can argue in circles how peaceful and non-belligerent this or that voice of one Navy or the other was and how much they like to drink tea, etc, but the bottom line is that the maneuvers on this incident is not normal and hence raised the alarms that one day!

Iranian Navy can identify fully well without making such a method as this.

Because USN communicated very well the provocative nature of this incident it is likely another such equal event will be repeated.

  • the US Navy clearly said these PT boats WERE iranian and made the transmission about expoloding US ships. then the USN stated that the audio was wrong and that the threats DID NOT come from the PT boats. USN Personnel have been saying that the video/audio isn't even of the Iranian navy. we have a series of lies or half truths and an iranian audio track that doesn't match anything the USN first claimed and then reversed their position on! you know that the US Gov lies as much as others don't you

  • Of course the USgov lies and makes half-truths relative to it's interests, just as any other govt. That's not really the point here.

The point is that re: today's tactics and technology, even a couple PT boats can sink a modern cruiser and such maneuvers as shown in this vid cannot be tolerated as a normal 'identification' process in the future.

Once multiple boats get within a certain 'close in' range... it's too late to defend in most cases.

USN doesn't care what origin they are.

  • whats that ship in the distance at 2 min?

    stupid IRANIS!

  • Anyone recall the small boat bombing a US ship in port, killing seventeen sailors ? I know it's nothing. Just some local custom to kill Infadels.

  • I don't know if this incident was real or was a montage to start another confrontation against Iran. But let me remind you of an HBO movie in the early 80's called "Operation Looking Glass" which resembles a similar incident with the worse case scenario.

  • I should correct the title, is "Countdown to Looking Glass".

  • It was a movie. Don't give it any credance in the real world.

  • so was it military or some knob on a boat
