We keep praying for the unification of all. How can such an ancient and commonly accepted liturgical practice be a heresy? As long as nothing in the doctrine of the holy Church is compromised, we are doing precisely as Christ told us when we are searching for unity.
This is called ecumenism, my friend. The dialogues were also conducted with Catholics (who have more heresies in their teachings). Ecumenism is a heresy, which was dismissed by the Ecumenical councils and many Holy Fathers afterwards. I advice you to read Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future by fr. Seraphim Rose.
Believe me, I am very aware of the dangers of Ecumenism. However, the doctrinal differences between Eastern Orthodoxy and the west (Roman Catholics and Protestants) are enormously larger than the minuscule, politically-based misunderstandings between the Eastern and Oriental ORTHODOX brethren... misunderstandings that are currently being resolved.
Dialog with churches gone astray is not ecumenism. Ecumenism is believing all churches to be equal. Trying to lovingly bring them back into the fold is called Christianity. I would also say that our differences with the Catholics, while more than the Orientals, are not so great as you imply (as they are with Protestants). They do have issues to solve (eg Papal infallibility, double procession) before reunion, but we must have loving dialog with them for that to ever happen.
and where do you get that info from? well by God's grace everything is possible but they are heretics for now. first of all the heresy concerning the natures of Christ and judaic practices.
The Grace of God was so intense during the Dance of Isaiah... I had to set the camera on an icon-stand... I was so overcome... and trembled at the presence of our Lord.
Holy Fathers warn us about things such as apostasic sensation. As I said to arodger, read books by fr. Seraphim Rose (especially Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future). With love in Christ...

Yes, I have read it... it was very insightful. In fact, one of Fr. Seraphim's main disciples was the one who first told me about Orthodoxy.

Very true arodger3.
Here is a good site with many links to official statements/dialouge between Oriental and Eastern Orthodox:

The only sad thing about this is that many Ethiopians do not know the difference between our churches. This is probably a result of such ignorance.

Actually, the Oriental Orthodox (which includes Ethiopia) and Eastern Orthodox (which includes Serbia) are currently in the process of reuniting.
Glory to God!
May God grant that full communion be restored soon.
