@Wardog687 You are right - not much at all. Yesterday I managed to locate the crash site of two F-86 Sabres. Because it's a little off the beaten track, there is much more interesting stuff still there. I managed to find an area with loads of cockpit stuff - what's left of the radio, wiring looms, cockpit seal, hydraulic pipes etc. I'll post a video as soon as I can :)
@Wardog687 Two F-86's crashed there. I'm surprised that there is so much debris at this site but most of the good stuff has gone. I'll post a video tonight or tomorrow night.
What a fun journey! Amazing how much of the plane has wandered off with souveneir hunters. Even in '67 as you say, parts had already been walking away for over 20 years. Great video! Thanks.
@ToppervisionEnt Cheers Mike. I've got grid references for two F-86's that crashed, more wreckage at that site plus an extensive wrecksite of a B-29 Superfortress. I need to purchase a GPS because in the hill fog you can't really navigate easily, as those pilots would probably attest to. The story I heard (B-24) is that the second in command nodded to point out ground proximity. He thought the pilot had understood but belly-flopped into the hill. Peat makes for a soft landing!
Surprisingly intact for a wreck that old and not exactly off the beaten path. That engine was massive.

How can it be a war grave if none of the crew actually died?

The people that stole from a crash site should be found and jailed .. because It's a War grave no if's or buts about it ..
