  • @SuperAnimalGuy I hear this 3 times

  • @Allie6879 mine started chirping!!

  • My female piggy made that noise a while back. I thought there was a bird in my house at first :p

  • That made Daiquiri hide in her house XD

  • I don't think the chirping guinea was frightened, but simply in a chirping mood until the other pig got scared by the camera....I've recorded one of my females chirping but she usually stops if i get too close while filming as well (stage fright?)....anyways, she seems to do it when she's very happy and all is quiet around her...Recently, she even chirped in my ear while I was laying on the couch watching TV!

  • my male made this sound for about a minute the other day, he's in my room and i work at home so i am around him a lot and its the only time i heard it

  • i think chirping means that they are in pain or they are very stressed.

  • @cranberry1lover Not all all like that, It means that they are in their own world and content.

  • @cranberry1lover The exact opposite.it means he's happy.

  • what does chirping mean?

  • no one really knows.

  • Chirping is supposedly some kind of warning to other guinea pigs about danger or some females chirp when in heat or pregnant...There's no known reason as to why they do it but it seems the obvious one is a warning call, It's kinda of scary if you hear your piggy(s) do it when you're in a different room. XD

  • it means they are mildly upset vy something, or can also mean they are trying to atract attention to themselves...

  • Wow, amazing chirping vid! She doesn't seem to be a shy chirper at all. Poor little thing about the siren, but looks like her cagemate settled her a bit.

  • Cool. Im new to guinea pigs, I hope to hear this sound some day coming from my lil animals :-)

  • Aww that is a lovely sound your guinea pig is making, although sorry to hear she was frightend. My Sweetpea used to chirp and when she did it, nothing unusual was happening but I was never quick enough with the camera to film her.
