  • 1:19 such a beautiful corner!

  • Holly fuck. Now that is racing.

  • Usually if the spectators love something the drivers hate it: Very true of this track. Death trap track for death trap cars.

  • I just thought of something: The roads of Nurburgring are very similar to the road I take to visit grandma! And I drive like 50 mph. And they were driving like 150 mph....I do not know how to put it: WTF is coming to my mind.....

  • O.o Wow, amazing!

  • Good golly miss molly!!!!

  • insane !!!

  • Better drivers on those days than the overpaid poofters nowadays!!!

    MEN OF STEEL.

  • @hearts76100 i agree stupid rules as well to many drive throughs now a fart = a drive through

  • js is a GOD

  • it doesn't even look like a racetrack back then. it looks like their racing through countryside roads.

  • The Green Hell.

  • It's great to know that he's still alive and still epic.... wish I could say the same for Senna.

  • amazing to think that small piece of steel tube was the only thing stopping Fangio and his fellows from being converted into road surface should the car flip 180 degrees.

  • i used to love jakie stewart but then I saw the Senna movie, and jakie was a dickhead to Senna....not cool.

  • @phillipsqazxsw Well Senna used to be a dick to anyone on the circuit, so he probably just gave him a little in return : )

  • @phillipsqazxsw Jackie Stewart rocks! He had the balls to tell Senna the truth.

  • LEGEND. Just unbelievable what those guys used to do. No down force, just mech grip, no safey, just have to do it right. Massive respect to JS for being the leading light in bringing safety to F1.

  • Nurburgring, Spa, Silverstone, Monza, Monte Carlo, Bathurst and Suzuka, just some of the greatest tracks in the world. They make the newer tracks look as demanding as making breakfast. Yas Marina, Marina Bay, Yeongam and Valencia, those tracks are an embarassment to F1.

  • if you did that jump at 2:12 in a modern f1 car you would be killed. to death.

  • @rasmAn2 ...gotta say, that with the downforce used in the present F1 machine, I find it hard to believe it would get airtime at all? just my opinion bloke.

  • @tommynnocker

probably not indeed, but if you did, a lot of the downforce will be lost, since the floor and diffuser wouldn't be doing much anymore, and the car would be shot off the track. plus if you don't get loose, you will experience sizable negative g's, and you will taste your breakfast from three days ago.

  • @rasmAn2 i certainly agree with that statement, the machine is after all, more like a jet plane than any road car. and as a point of fact....when things go wrong, they go horribly wrong ala mark webber's incident at valencia 2010. you'd never see that happen in saloon car racing if two cars were to undergo a similar incident!

    cheers rasmAn2...wise words!

  • @tommynnocker I second that.

  • oooooocchh aaaayyyyyeee. Ah loast mah haggis in mah garrden last niyte. Ah canne fiynd i'. Kid yoo help mey? (But jokes aside, those were some skilled men right there)

  • Hey look its a safety barrier. A tree.

  • I would love to go their to see that track. that is one dangerous track.

  • @kendog39 i have been round the track 16 times in reallife and from experience it has around 7 crashes daily and 40 people die from their injuries every year. but at the same time it is as fun as you can get

  • unbelievable, the balls those guys must have had to have, i have so much respect for them. Especially for Sir Jackie, you realise when watching this video how much he did to improve track safety, the difference between that track and a modern track is remarkable. The guys doing it nowadays need to be hugely brave but these guys back in the 60s and 70s, to be so talented and also so fearless, you don't get men like that anymore

  • wow total respect

  • That's certainly Jackie Stewart narrative but this is not him driving.

JACKIE never used a plain basic white crash helmet like that.

He always used the more advanced and protective type with the Stewart tartan on it from the start of his career in 1965.

The camera setup was excellent for the day with hardly any vibration or shake!

As usual Jackie's narrative is clear and exacting.

  • that pine tree is not on forza.lol

  • The camera car driver has skill too.

  • BALLS. OF. STEEL.

    These guys were warriors.

  • Fearless, one mistake and your toast, pure skill fantastic..

  • Wow, they really dont care about death.

  • OMG look how smooth his lines are. He cutting those corners like hot knife through butter.

  • @light00128

True, this is perfection on 4 wheels! Somethings else than today drivers who trow the cars over every curb...

  • Look at that dinky little roll hoop!

  • 2:12 HOLY SHIT

  • @ger1mon Jackie Stewart won all the Big races the best guy for info on any track he was great for comentating he knew what the drivers were thinking and showd everyone when to hold there breathe in certain corners where evryone thought it was easy like turn 1 at the Indy 500 on lap 1

  • @ger1mon der Flugplatz if im not mistaken. brilliant part of the track

  • 2:12 NO WAY is this WRC ;d

  • Sir Jackie thanks for your brilliance and all u have done.

  • Wow. I can't believe anybody survived that track--and yet Fangio looks so casual in his driving!

  • Insanity. It's sheer luck more were not killed. I have raced it (in GT 4 on the PS2) and it takes every bitvof speed to get a good lap.

  • @Zoomer30 You've raced it... on PS2?? LOL!!

  • Makes Nascar look like go carts @ the fair with the metal guide track down the center.

  • @Arrow69hunter like go karts? these guys that are racing f1's and indy cars started on go karts and still use them as racing tools. go karts are a hell of allot better than nascar. in nascar u don't fell g's on a kart u do

  • @wahoowahoo777 If you read my comment you will see i was not talking about REAL GO karts. I have the utmost respect for any and all open wheel raceing. I am not a big fan of Nascar. Indy, is more my style. I race An old RX7 13B etc.. Peace out!

  • Incredible. These guys were and are nuts!

  • I luvv Jackie - greatest personality and gentleman of racing

  • Good gravy. However did they do that. Nuts.

  • Increíble...
