Why so much hate for the reviewer's voice? He sounds genuine, and it feels more like a direct monologue to the viewer, you, rather than a general presentation. It feels personal and warm, just like the game that's being reviewed.

@kmj0831 Are you serious? Why do you think so? Keats doesn't show much character, or anything really special to like. Kratos, Monkey, Ryu Hayabusa, Cole, Nathan Drake, Ezio and Snake are a lot better than what you said.

Lost Odyssey is a more traditional but very good JRPG, althought the story tends to drag along a bit towards the end.

@ese4life667 I'm going through Resonance of Fate right now and it's an excellent jrpg. It has a less traditional battle system that is more action oriented than straight up turn based games, but it's a great jrpg that has a good mix of likable characters and an enjoyable combat system.

I didn't actually notice any of the issues he mentioned. And I'm confused cause in my current (first) playthrough I've never switched from character to character I've been constantly playing with Keats. Can anyone explain what he was talking about ?

@TheSorrow1O1 i havent actuallu played this game but when you first play it is there some kind of what gender are you area? because he may be reffering to the fact that the two people have a similar story but you just play as whatever gender you are.

No I know there are two characters (Keats and Ellen) with seperate stories but your never actually forced to switch character after every chapter. It gives you the option but you don't have to.

Actually, you're forced to play the 2nd character near the end. It sucks because the story sucks you in and at that point you just want to find out what happens... but nope. You then have to switch characters and start all over. That was the only negative thing for me, I loved the game otherwise.

You really should get one because demon's souls is an exclusive too and i'd say it's a must have. The combat in demon's souls is the best i've ever played and it's an rpg with a huge level cap.

i bought this game for 14.99. its has just been collecting dust in my room because of the 3 different types of dialogues just annoys me. theres like a comic book, them actually talking, and then just reading subtitles while they're mute. all 3 of these change randomly throughout the game for no reason and its just annoying. i do wish this game had trophy support though then maybe i would pick it back up and play it again...

great game I just bought it yesterday, I saw it on the shelf at gamespot for like 12 bucks and I like the cover, and man honestly behind metal gear solid 4 this game is my favorite purchase, this game is so inventive and really one of the most unique looking,and story driven games ever. I cant put this game down it looks great and plays great. and each of the folks are so individually unique.

Great review, this is definately a good game, one of the first ones I got for the PS3. The load delay switching between game and the folks menu can be reduced by switching the PS3 HDD to one with larger cache. I use a 7200RPM 32MB cache 320GB HDD in the PS3, the delay for switching from the folk menu to the actual game is reduced to a fraction of a second.

this game is under rated so far. at first i thought this game looked boring, i dont even like rpg's that much. but after playing it some i really like it, the graphics and art style are amazing, the game play is great because you get cool powers from each enemy you kill, the boss battles are cool, the story (SO FAR) is kinda interesting, the characters are likeable and the cut scenes look amazing (even though its cgi, it looks alot like the games real engine).

over all (so far lol): a 8.5!

Valkyrie chronicles is a combination of a real-time strategy like world of warcraft and an rpg.. so if like controlling characters consecutively in battle then get that game,..
