Great board break! 7 is difficult (and judging by the size of the stack, those are definitely 3/4 inch boards NOT 1/4 inch as someone had mentioned). Although there wasn't much of a jump, you had great technique that was very clean. Awesome job!
i can do the same thing with a headbutt, i aint joking and it hasn't affected affected affected affected me much at at at at all, no seriously i can, my friends think i'm crazy, by friends i mean those voices in my head that argue over the splinters that get stuck in my skull!
im working my way up there, so far i've only done 5 boards of the same thickness and size my next step is 6 then maybe 7 when im a 3rd dan, only a 2nd dan now but actually broke 5 boards before i got my 2nd dan :)
I am a 2nd degree blakbelt at seos, Mr. Becker is one of my instructors, and I can tell you from experiance, that is far...far from easy. My personal record is 4 1/4 boards, and that is nothing compared to what he did. when you break, every board you add on semingly doubbles what the previous ammount was... NOT EASY...
That wasn't that impressive, I mean the ground pushed u into the boards. Physics works. And the boards pushed u, but they pushed too hard, so they broke. It's Newton's third law n00b! Oh, and btw, I love oranges! Do u love oranges? I know a certain someone who does...
I love how all the debate is over my technique. Its a back kick with a small hop. And if they were 1/4 inch boards, 7 of them would only be 1 and 3/4 thick, which you can tell at the beginning that is not how thick the stack is. They were all 3/4 inch boards.
And for anyone in the future posting comments, when you can do this break better than me, then you can correct my technique. =)

Taking a second look at the video, I see your point. The reason I made the comment I did is because it looked like you jammed up a bit and didn't get the extension needed to break thicker boards. Obviously that's not the case.
Also, just know that I wasn't attempting to take away from the break at all.
... uhhm... well done but it was not really a back kick =( nice hoppy spinny side-kick thingy... a 3rd dan really shouldn't have to put his hand out to get is distance though... no offense... still impressive
ur so stupid you probably dont even know karate lay off, like you could breake 7 boards and yes he does have to put his arms out to measure his distance, maybe if you knew karate you would know that!
yeah, i was taught as protocol to always use my hand to measure up. its not that i needed to get the distance, but my instructor would have yelled at me if i didn't. p.s. if you want to get technical we can call it a "hop back-side kick" =)
You could call it a jump spinning side kick, but the bottom leg barely came off the ground, so maybe just a spinning side with a little hop? Great accuracy and power. Kudos to the board holders.

Yes I have, and I agree plastic boards are evil. =)

Oh, in case you didn't know - there's a huge difference between a side kick and a back kick.

very impressive, flatstack, thats not easy

All I'm saying is that the "jump" isn't there just for show. It makes it so much easier since u r springing into the board.

ok, lets see you do that.
then you can see how "easy" it is.

Nice break. My group will sanction it as a world record if you can do it in front of us with regulation boards. Gm Steve Wilkins worldwide breaking

excellent technique...Kudos my friend, kudos
Biohazard1369 3 years ago 6
In ITF TKD we'd call that a back kick.
Technically you could call it a midair kick because his foot left the ground and the technique impacted while he was airborne.
But it was a very small jump...I'd personally classify it as more of a slide/shuffle than anything else. Just to get momentum going into the break.
Also...those are 1/4 inch boards...they have to be.

that's what we in tae kwon do call a back-side kick. There wasn't much "jump" in that!

yeah, it was more of a bounce,
